This is a relatively new deli in the heart of Kendal and our first visit made a big impression! The shop itself is quite attractive, with a large counter full of delicious fresh-looking ingredients used to make their takeaway sandwiches. Then, towards the rear there are shelves containing a combination of exotic and local foodstuffs that could be used to make the perfect meal.
The enthusiastic and jolly owner was obviously very proud of his business and even gave us a mini-tour. He explained that he liked to stock local goods (indicating rows of pickles and relishes) but also accepted that he needed to offer items from further away that just weren't made here. We got the impression that he personally endorsed everything he sold and he could offer recipe suggestions at the drop of a hat!
It's really refreshing to see someone so committed to what they do and this little deli deserves to do well. If you're hungry and in Kendal please try it, as I'm sure you'll be greeted with a smile and leave with something really tasty. read more
