It's a sleep study. Expect to have all kinds of stuff stuck all over your body and sleep in a strange bed. There is only one bathroom. The staff was pleasant and courteous. It takes a long while to get an appointment, so deal with it. There is only one specialist who reads the results. He does not have an office and you cannot make an appointment with him. You must go through your primary care doctor and have another study ordered if it seems that the CPAP settings may need adjustment. REM Diagnostics has no control over that. read more

Terrible service. Rude employees. Incompetent diagnostics. From the very first interaction, they provided incorrect information, then lied about it. The manager tried to cover for her and said some incredibly stupid explanations. Absolutely gaslighting me multiple times. Never followed up with communications. Refused to give me documents. They didn't give the correct test, and the test they did give me was inconclusive and wanted to bill my insurance a 2nd time for another test. DONT GO HERE. read more

Absolutely horrible, unprofessional experience. I was treated rudely by the two employees who I interacted with. The lady who answered the phone was very nice on the phone but in the office (bare walls, hard plastic chairs) she quickly became impolite when I asked questions about the paperwork she was asking me to sign. I was signing for equipment to do a home sleep study; the paperwork said there was a $2400 fee if the equipment was returned damaged. I was handed a zippered black bag and then asked to initial forms saying that I had received four separate pieces of equipment, so I looked at what was in the bag and asked if I could have her tell me what was what. That's also when I noticed that the main piece of equipment was held together by rubber bands and apparently had a broken clip that would have held the machine together (but it was broken, hence the rubber bands). I objected to being given broken equipment but I was told that was the only equipment available so I asked the receptionist lady to make a note on the form that it was already broken and held together by a rubber band, and she did, but she wasn't very nice about it, asking me something to the effect of "Why are you like this?" Then, when I tried to get her to continue showing me the equipment, it turned out that she wasn't even aware which part of the equipment was the "effort sensor" that I was signing for. She rudely interrupted me and started shouting "Michael! Michael!" A man came out of an adjoining room, never stopping the conversation he was having into the phone pressed to his ear, while I explained that I was in the middle of trying to sign for equipment and I wanted to know which piece was what, so could he show me which piece is which. He indicated half-hearted agreement, while still giving most of his attention to the phone he was holding to his ear. I asked "So which part is the 'effort sensor'?" and Michael indicated something that appeared to me to be the "oximeter" (which was another part I was being asked to sign for.) So I asked "Really? I would have thought that was the oximeter. If that's the 'effort sensor' which part is the oximeter?" Then Michael angrily pointed to a buckle on a belt, and said "This! This is the effort sensor!" while momentarily taking the phone from his head, and then storming away and returning to his conversation before even leaving the room. I realized "Oh, he doesn't know either!" So I took a photo of the equipment I received (complete with rubber bands holding it together). This is not a professional-seeming organization. I am very surprised that local doctors are referring their patients to this business. I do not recommend them. read more

No, do not recommend, which is unfortunate because there are a lot of patients out there that need the life-saving sleep apnea treatment. They are terrible with scheduling and have an attitude about everything. Read the previous reviews, it's a pattern. I had an order to do a full session after my take-home test. Mind you I've had sleep apnea for a long time, just needed to be re-tested for insurance purposes. I showed up, they didn't even put me on the schedule. They knew they were at fault. I gave them several chances to get it right and I finally said nevermind, not interested. Luckily I didn't need the full test anyway for my equipment to be covered. If you need this test, do your best to constantly confirm or they will ditch you. It's life-saving treatment and if you can get through their BS it'll all be over and you can go on with your treatment. read more

My young son was referred for a sleep study to REM Diagnostics. I made the appointment and was able to get one in a timely manner. They emailed the paperwork which I completed at home (mobile intake would have been nice). We reported on time. The location is not ideal in that it is very close to downtown SLO and our appt was on a Thursday, so the streets were packed with Farmer's Market patrons and intoxicated students walking home (loudly). Nowhere to park and the small driveway to the small parking lot behind the building was hard to see and partially blocked by a gate. I circled three times and tried to call (no answer) before I pulled in and knocked on the door for help. The tech opened the gate and directed us to the back where there were 2 old, decrepit motor homes covered in tarps parked back there. My son said "This seems sketchy to me" and I agreed. We knocked on the door again and went in. The tech was nice and handled our paperwork. The office was messy and didn't seem professional looking. The building is pretty old. The room we were in was really cold and the single-pane windows rattled when cars drove by and we could hear people walking down the streets being loud. The room wasn't very nice -extremely basic and felt like a guest room in someone's home that wasn't gifted in hospitality or decorating. The tech was great with my son and my son had a good experience overall, but there was much to be desired in this facility. The lights in the hallways are really bright, fluorescent lights so when the tech came in to fix the wires or oxygen monitor for my son throughout the night it was super jarring. The communal bathroom wasn't clean. The door nobs were loud so every time someone went to the bathroom down the hall it was noisy. They have a doorbell people ring that plays a song and it was also loud and woke my son up. It would have been nice to have a more professional facility with dimmer lights more conducive to actual sleep. But the WORST part as a caregiver with my son was the cot at the foot of my son's bed. I was aware I would "sleep" on a cot because I was told that when I made the appt, BUT, I was not told it was a cot designed for death row inmates in order to cause them to lose their will to live. It felt like metal bars and plywood. My ribs hurt just laying on it. The pillow on it was flat. I was in pain and did not sleep at all the entire night. It was pretty torturous. It would take very little to upgrade to a decent cot for parents to use. We are already not sleeping all night due to the constant disruptions, doors opening and closing, doorbell ringing, trips to the dirty bathroom in the blaring lighted hallways and drunk college kids walking by all night, hearing every car in the street also. Could we at least have not had a midevil torture device to lay there on not sleeping??? I was so surprised our pediatrician's office sent us to this facility. If any additional studies are needed, we won't be returning. The tech was very nice and kind with my son, but that was the only positive aspect of our experience. read more

Went here for a sleep study. Bed extremely uncomfortable, sleep is difficult at best during a sleep study. Non-supportive uncomfortable bed makes sleep and subsequent diagnosis difficult and inaccurate. Equipment appeared old. read more

Was scheduled for an in office sleep study for my 5 year old who has a disability at 815pm , we waited from 810pm-910pm outside with 3 other individuals who also had appointments. No one was in office and no one would answer phones or return the phone calls til after the weekend. Very unprofessional and time wasted . I seen another review where this happened in the past . So this isn't the first time they have done this to their patients. read more

REM Diagnostics performed a sleep study in May of 2023. They had me pay my co-pay and they billed, and were paid by my insurance. The test consisted of wearing a device overnight and after doing so I dropped it off at their office. NO results of the study were ever generated or transmitted to my physician. I went into their office four weeks after the study and they said they are not allowed to give me the results, that only the ordering physician could see it. This is not true, On April 5, 2021, the 21st Century Cures Act began requiring healthcare providers to give patients access to all health information without delay. At a follow up visit with the physician who ordered the study, three and one-half months after the test was done, there were still no results. The Doctors office called and were told it would be faxed immediately. It was not. I will file a complaint with the State of California medical board. read more

This is one of those medical offices that offer to do something then never do it. They never answer the phone and make you leave a message, but they don't respond to the messages. It took two months to get in for the sleep study. On the morning I was to go in, they called and said the notes from my doctor didn't look sufficient to qualify with my insurance. Without asking my doctor they asked me to agree to a in-home sleep study and could I come by and pick up the equipment? When I asked what my doctor said, they told me they would have to get back with me. In other words they didn't ask for the doctor's approval to change the test. Very wrong and unethical. read more

At this point I have not heard anything from dr. Mark Soll (apart from his sarcastic letter offering to debate me), nor have I heard anything from Dr Linda Molin, the ENT physician who referred me to Soll and Company. I forwarded copies of my letters to Dr. Soll and his response to me to Dr. Molin and have yet to hear any apology or explanation from either party for the traumatic "treatment" I received in attempting to obtain a sleep study. I have, however, mentioned my horrible experience in this regard to my friends and family AND to my family doctor, pharmacist, etc. No one should have to experience the poor level of care from Dr. Soll's facilities while trying to obtain treatment for a life-threatening condition. Again, if you are referred to REM Diagnostics for a sleep study or to Dr Mark Soll of Central Coast Chest Consultants, DEMAND another referral. read more

A sleep study may not be the most enjoyable thing to have done but the people at REM diagnostics made it pleasant and easy. Scheduling was easy and the tech who worked with me on the night of my study was friendly and professional. He was patient and took the time to answer my questions because I had no idea what to expect. My doctor got the results within a week, which I guess is pretty quick. I was very apprehensive about my sleep study. Years before I had one at a hospital which I would rate as 1. At Rem Diagnostic the staff was quick to fit me in with an appointment and they were very friendly. The Sleep Technician, Paul, was very professional and put me at ease immediately. The room was clean and comfortable. Paul explained what would take place and the night went very smooth. I was able to sleep comfortably and am actually looking forward to starting my sleep therapy. SLO CO needs a competent and ethical place for locals to get a sleep study. REM is not competent,or ethical. The used a nasal mask,I open my mouth when asleep,this allows the air to escape instead of going into my lungs.I can not get effective treatment with a nasal mask.What was the "tech" doing?Sleeping?What about the Dr. that allegedly read the report? Competence=0 The insurance pays a fixed price for the CPAP machine,they try to sell you the cheapest machine possible and pocket the difference between what the insurance pays and what the machine costs. When I complained about the cheap non data capable machine I was told there was not enough money in it for them to sell me the better machine.What about what is best for the patient? I would recommend REM Diagnostics to anyone who is looking to have a sleep study. Let's face it , a sleep study is not a procedure anyone would look forward to but everyone at REM made me feel so at ease and the entire process from scheduling to coming into the lab for my study was very professional and handled with a special touch of compassion . My doctor had my report within a week and when I called to get a copy of my sleep study , I was helped by a very kind young lady who stated she would put it in the mail that day and I received it , three days later with a little note telling me to have a great day . The sleep study staff were excellent and very caring; however, the follow up was HORRIBLE. Be very careful. You will be assessed extra charges for doctors reviewing your study, but they never call you to review. If you want a review, you will be charged more money. What good is a study if they don't follow up to give you the information? Seems like it should all be included in one fee. read more
