Tried working with one of their agents, Mary Anne. Communication was nearly impossible. I had to follow up several times just to get basic answers to my questions. There is a palpable sense of arrogance in her approach. she seems more interested in her own image than in providing actual service to her clients. We just closed on the sale of our house here in Naperville with RE/MAX. Dan Firks was our listing agent and he was terrific. He did a great job of marketing our house, the online photos looked great and he was incredibly responsive. Unfortunately, the buyer's agent, Sophia Su, was very unprofessional and almost derailed the sale at several points. At one point, we almost terminated, which would have been really bad for the buyers who really wanted our house. I would definitely go to Dan again (and in fact recommend him heartily to all of my friends who need a Realtor) but encourage you to steer clear of Sophia. I'm all for Realtors who protect your interests as a buyer but when it comes to this type of unprofessional behavior, she reflects badly on the other RE/MAX agents in this office. (And in fact, I've written to RE/MAX corporate and told them so.) read more

She understands the Naperville market inside and out and took plenty of time to take us first time home buyers around and educate us about the market. He helped us buy our first house and, being new homeowners, helped us understand every point in the process. Wow!! Chris Macak actually pretended to go by a different name "Bill the manager", recited my current address (a threat?), called my realtor and admitted he Google searched my name to find my place of employment, criticizes not only my realtor but also my lender (who is garbage apparently for not answering on a bank holiday) and tells me on the phone that I lied to him (when I simply asked if the property was still available since he told my realtor an offer was accepted only to find that it was still active). Wish I could attach a picture of how many times he tried calling to harass me in a five minute period!! read more

we worked with Terry Dittus. it was a nightmare....she did not make it to the walk through after the owners moved out, so we had none. She was in Michigan and hours late getting back in town. So, she alone stayed behind at our "new" house, and urged us to close, and she'd tell us if anything looked like it needed fixing-- wrong --that was a big mistake for us and costs of thousands. After we closed, the house did not look like it did with all the owner's furniture and boxes in it. We found it had flooded during the closing process (we had been out of the state and had asked her to check their basement after a big rain, but apparently she did not as there were obvious recent water stains), there were wall cracks in the crawl space that needed fixing--which should have been obvious when the radon detection system was installed, the sump pump was not working, garbage hidden in the backyard and really everywhere the house needed major cleaning, wood flooring had deep scratches (hidden by strategic furniture placement), trim work was in need of great repair upstairs where furniture hid it, kitchen faucet did not work, second bath in need of repair (leaking-disguised by boxes in closet behind it), and on and on....the place was left dirty, broken glass in kitchen cabinents, magic marker and crayon stains inside cabinenets not even attempted to be cleaned, pictures and iron work designs were pulled from the walls leaving one inch gaping holes that needed drywall and new paint even though we counted on it being newly painted--all the walls had to be fixed and repainted (and no paint left on premises even though it was advertised as newly painted--so it was $6000 alone to mend all the drywall including closet behind bathroom). The carpet that appeared to be one color was three different colors--not easy to see in a poorly lit house at night with all the stuff--we truly needed a daytime walkthrough with the place empty. All this we could not see or negotiate on because our agent was late getting back into Illinois the morning of our closing, leaving no time for a walk-through that day or any time before that. Further, Terry always discouraged us for pressing for any type of paperwork on repairs in a house which warning to new buyers--ask for paperwork so you have some type of warrentee other than the previous owners word. For instance, in the case of this home, it was supposed to have a new roof. However, I've now spent $5000 repairing this supposedly new roof because of many problems with leakage. Terry is as anxious to please the seller as the buyer, so she's going to just push to make you agree and have a transaction, not keep the buyer's interests in mind. I suggest not this agent. And, this is my fourth home, so I know the difference between a great agent and a not so great one. This one should be another line of work. read more

Horrible experience. Realtor from heck. Told us the "professional" had listed and sold 30 homes. Well, only 3 homes over 5 years was the reality. They requested $2500 for me to delist with them. Got out with only sending $2000 to them to get rid of them. Please do not list with these people. read more

Sophia Su is the most unprofessional and rude realtor we have ever dealt with. Unresponsive. Rude. Terrible customer service. Yelled at our broker on the phone and hung up on her for no reason. Disregarded a text from our broker when we were locked out of her listing. And never responded until after we left the property. Unprofessional text reply. Did not show up to the closing so we didn't have our keys when we took possession. She showed up at our realtors office looking like she just woke up. She claims she didn't know the closing was today. She thought it was tomorrow. Is she for real? What an idiot. No apologies nothing. She should be fired. Would give her a 0 star rating if we could. I can't believe she's in this business. read more

A ReMax agent, Sophia Su, called me this afternoon and asked to show my house between 3PM and 4PM that same day. I work at home, and decided to allow her to show the house. I suspended my workday, made sure that the house was straightened up adequately, took the dog out, and waited for her to show up. I am writing this at approximately 5PM. She did not show up, she did not call to cancel, she did not call to explain anything. I called the brokerage and asked for the office manager, and I got his voice-mail, I also called for the office broker, and got his voice-mail as well. I don't expect to see anything happen to this person, because ReMax agents are all independent brokers themselves, and the office in which they reside only charges them for a desk fee and some other franchise type fees, so there is no incentive for that office to even talk to an offending sales person. It is my contention, however, that it is not only courteous, but also professional to, if there is a change of plans (including a cancellation) that a phone call should be made to the homeowner. If this person is representative of ReMax, I intend NEVER to use any of their services, and would not recommend this brokerage to any other person. read more

We worked with one of the agents at this location, she made a lot of false promises and never followed through on anything she said (gave her almost 4 months). Always had family problems as her constant excuse and even lied about having a realtor's open house. And then to get out of the contract (that has been breached by her, the agent) has been ridiculous! I hope this is not how all the agents of this location due business! My husband and I came upon Matt Trusk of Remax of Naperville by chance. We decided ahead of time that we would contact and speak with three realtors before we listed our house. The first was a friend who was not familiar with the area and actually suggested we speak with local realtors. The second was an accomplished realtor who has practiced in the Naperville area for decades. We had a price in mind that we hoped to receive when we sold our home. Our second realtor told us we were unrealistic, that the market had not recovered enough for us to come anywhere near that number. Finally, we randomly chose another experienced realtor, Scott Adamson. Scott was unable to visit our home, but asked if we would mind if he sent Matt Trusk, another member of his team. Matt visited our home and promptly prepared his detailed market analysis. His number was even higher than we had hoped. After listing with Matt, his photographer, Chip, took absolutely gorgeous photos that we strongly believe contributed to the 21 showings we had in 18 days. Our home sold in 19 days for 97% of our asking price. We even exceeded the original dollar amount we were hoping for. Our next step was to find a new home. I would typically call Matt and ask to see a house as soon as possible, as the spring market was beginning and homes were selling quickly. Matt returned every call within minutes, and we were able to view every home the day it came on the market. We found our new home and were able to coordinate the closings for the same day. We would highly recommend Matt to anyone considering buying and/or selling their home. Everything - from our interactions with Matt, to our home's MLS listing and flyer, to his follow-up on showings, to his coordination of our purchase and closings - worked like clockwork. One star is too much for this agency. Do NOT sign a contract with Bernie Cobb Jr. He is unprofessional, not ethical, manipulative and threatening. I signed a contract with him for the sale of my deceased mothers home back in Sept.. I was somewhat ignorant and didn't think to pay attention to how long the contract was but it is a year. He talked me into a horrible sale and did not have my best interest. The sale fell thru the night before closing. After wasting 3 months trying to sell the home I asked him to take it off the market and cancel the listing while I took a break and made some upgrades to the home. 2 months later comes to find out he never cancelled my listing as asked to do so. He has it temporarily no showings which made sense bc I did have ppl wandering around the house asking questions. When confronted he got very confrontational but we talked and I agreed to let him remarket the property. Days later we didn't see eye to eye on anything. Let me warn you Bernie will try to get you to sell your house at the lowest price for a quick sale. He will even purposely not show you the higher comps so you think your property is worth lower than what it actually is. He wants a fast sale and onto the next he doesn't care about the few thousand more he could make selling it competitively. So then I asked him to cancel my listing bc we didn't see eye to eye and he refused and threatened I either buy him out paying full commission to him or the house sits until his contract expires in 6 months. He said that was my choice. He also refused to give me back my keys so I had to have locks changed. He sent me harassing text after harassing texts trying to manipulate me into using him. I spoke with his broker and he is just as unprofessional and offered me another agent in the office so Bernie and that agent can split the commission. I want nothing to do with the corrupt agency and yes corrupt. They are all about making money off you and don't let them fool you into thinking they are for you. I'm going to seek legal action to get out of this terrible situation. read more
