I had another vet review the records and he told me Dallas' spleen should have been removed in September when I first brought him in. There is an emergency hospital I can totally recommend and that is Animal Emergency Center Sandy Springs. They are superb. Dr. Joel Landrum the owner is wonderful as is all the docs there. By the way BluePearl in Sandy Springs sucks as well.

I am thrilled that I no longer live in Atlanta because I would be having to find a new vet for my fur kids but we have since moved out of state. Over the past year since our original vet that we saw at IPAH left to start their own practice, we did see one vet who was great but she too left right after, and a few other not so great appointment. The care level went down and was on par with any other big box vet. Not great, but the more egregious part is the customer service experience. I have a dog with epilepsy. He has been on meds for going on 2 years now. For the first 9 months he was on his meds I only needed to have it called in once from the initial diagnosis. that went on for 9 months. After he had his first follow up blood test (and once Dr. Anderson left) suddenly I had to start calling in his meds through my vet every month. That's fine but no reason given and no context. When I called the vet the frost time it happened they seemed confused and were like you have always had to do this...no. Nope. Sorry this is the forst time anyone has mentioned it. And I had picked up his meds monthly for the past 9 months without doing so. They argued with me. I didn't care and am happy to do it but that was news to me and not the experience we had been living for the first 9 months. They actually argued this point with me - but like how was I getting it f I have not been calling you? If that was something that was supposed to be explained to me it had never happened until that first call 9 months in. So that was missed...which is a pretty big deal for them as his meds are a controlled substance and legally I don't know that happened and was missed for so long. I mean it worked in my favor so I'm not complaining but its something you should know of you are thinking about becoming their patient. Since then, any time I have had to call them (for meds, a followup with questions, booking an appointment, etc) it is always multiple calls. If they don't pick up and you have to leave a VM, they will not get back to you. You will just have to call again. Multiple times have they called in my dogs meds tot h wrong pharmacy despite my having only picked it up at a singal location the entire time he has been on them. Once they actually called it into a random pharmacy in FL. I didn't tell them to do this. I didn't give them a pharmacy in FL to call it into. I don't know why and they never gave me an explanation. At my last visit which was sometime in summer 2025, we were planning a move having just bought a new home. We did not have a move date though as we were doing minor renovations to the new home. When you have a chronically ill pet you have to plan that out meticulously as there are laws surrounding his meds. The the vet I spoke to said his currently meds should be fine though January of the following year (so Jan 2026) but once we moved they could only call it in over state lines one time. All good. That was clear. We did not end up moving until Nov 2025 (well within that window Since that appointment, every time I have called in his meds it has been a battle (ans multiple calls) to get them to fill his meds. That doctor is no longer there. I have had to constantly reiterate that we were told point blank that he should be fine until Jan 2026. Well here we are in January 2026 the first time I have had to fill his prescription in FL at our new home, and they are refusing to fill it. Causing me to have to move his already scheduled appointment with his new vet. Please save yourself time and drama and go elsewhere. While this used to be a good vet that really cared about your pets they lost their best doctors and are not just an expensive boutique vet. While staff is generally friendly in person they can't seem to do the most basic elements of their job. Everything is a hassle and the manager in particular has the "customer service" voice down to a level that fells almost smug its so condescending. I would know as I have had to speak with him often. I fully expect some sort of retort to this and I wont be bothering just know you'll be saving yourself time and probably a lot of money by going elsewhere. Also, they routinely give one-year vaccinations instead of 3-year unless you insist, and make no effort to consolidate appointments. So I've gotten one vaccination for my anxious, reactive dog only to get a postcard a few weeks later saying she needs a different one. Given my latest and last experience, I can only assume this is to maximize profits without consideration for the pet or owner.

I've supported this clinic before and brought seven cats here two years ago to be spayed and neutered -- a mother cat and her six kittens I rescued. I've always appreciated Lifeline's mission and affordable services that help people like me care for and fix stray or rescued cats. However, during my recent visit, I was met with an unfriendly and unhelpful representative at the front desk. She was a Spanish woman with mahogany or reddish-colored hair (unfortunately I didn't get her name). I arrived just after 9 a.m. with a newly rescued cat whose previous owner abandoned him, and I simply wanted to confirm whether he was neutered. Instead of showing any empathy or trying to help, she curtly told me to drive to another location an hour away because "they only do spays and neuters." When I explained that I'd been a prior client and only needed confirmation from a vet, she said drop-off ended at 9:00 and that with only one doctor they couldn't see him -- though she admitted if there were two doctors, they might've been able to. Her tone and attitude made it clear she didn't care to assist or even check for a small accommodation, despite my past support of the clinic. She eventually offered me an appointment for December 9th -- more than a month away -- which felt dismissive given the situation. I left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. I know what great customer service looks like, and unfortunately this was not it. I still believe in Lifeline's overall mission, but I hope management provides better training to their front desk staff -- compassion and kindness should always be part of animal rescue work.

We were immediately greeted and led into an examination room, where Robert (the vet tech) looked over her wound and got her vitals. He told me exactly what to expect and how long the wait would be (only a few minutes as the Dr. Moore was tending to another animal). Dr. Moore soon came in to examine my dog, and I felt very comfortable with her and how she made sure my concerns were heard. The facility itself is immaculate - extremely clean and very advanced. Although I hope we don't have another emergency, I feel comfortable knowing that they are there if we need them in the future.

I think she could tell I was dehydrated from all the tears already shed today! The vet (Dr. Spivey) was sooo nice and thorough and made sure I understood why she was bleeding and that she was fine, her vitals were great, and she had no perforations or anything down there. Also, she was very nice to me and suffered through my constant kisses and fussing with my girl while we were talking...anyone else would barf from all the sugar I was pouring on my Chi. I asked the lady at the counter if Dr. Spivey was just an E.R. vet and sadly she is, or i would switch practices in a second! The fee was $85, but I expected that it wouldn't be cheap. But it was well worth it to me to have some piece of mind about my baby's well-being. they said to call back if anything were to occur, and they can walk me through a way to help her, or if I needed to come back they would be ready for me. I hope I never have to go back there, but if I do, I am happy to have such a great emergency vet 6 miles from my house!
