I was literally pulling up at 9:55am (it opens at 10am) and I see another lady dropping items off out of her car. At that time, I get out of my car and start pulling a box out and a young man comes running over to my car yelling at me about how I'm not supposed to be dropping stuff off before hours. He accused me of leaving a pile of stuff in front of the trailer. I told him I literally just got out of my car and there was no need for him to give me an attitude because I would wait the 5 mins until they open. He proceeds to tell me that he's not taking my box and tv until he cleans up all of the stuff in front of the trailer. He was rude, condescending and unnecessarily disrespectful. I try to extend people grace because I need it too, but when I told him he was being rude, he snapped back again and walked away. Everyone is allowed to have a bad day, but this was unnecessar. I should have paid more attention to the 1 star review. This may be why people dump their stuff before the staff gets here... to avoid these nasty attitudes for the staff here when you're trying to do something good.

It is hard to describe what exactly this place is, but I'll give it a go. When you first walk in the front doors, you think you are entering a library, you are, kind of, that is upstairs and open certain hours. Once you get inside the main space, you feel like you have entered a community center or maybe a college student center. A quick look to the left it makes you think that you have ended up at a rest stop along the highway, or maybe a visitor center. With all the brochures for 'nearby' sights. I stress nearby because there were brochures for places as far away as Gettysburg. I'm not going to lie, I picked up a few brochures myself. As you move further into the space it feels almost like a concession stand and/or a breakroom. There are vending machines, arcade games and outdoor seating. Inside there is also a playground (currently closed for upgrades) and a tech lab. The big draw here is the ballroom. This space can be used for a multitude of things and is connected to other areas. Big enough for a special night, training, or informational gathering. With all this place has to offer, I'm surprised it wasn't in better use the day I was here. The library gets the most use in my opinion.

A huge patio with outdoor seating is also available.More recently, they added a room with High tech computers, 3D printers and some other tech. It's also decked out with comfy chairs. There's two big ball rooms that can be split into smaller rooms. These are usually held for events like training seminars, meetings or even small get together a. Upstairs is the library. A little outdated but they manage, having game console discs available as well as a computer lab & Rosetta Stone free for military! The cafe is no longer there and i haven't heard word if there will be a new one but there are vending machines.

I indirectly got the idea of reviewing items that I purchased online from my fellow Yelper and Yelp mentor, Britt Z., as well as one of my newest fellow Yelper friends, Edwin C. of Chicago, IL., who posted a tip for Jimmy John's that he posted to every chain of the franchise, or so it seemed to me. Thank you to both Britt Z. & Edwin C. for teaching and showing me what is possible to do on Yelp. I have been a little frustrated since COVID-19, as I am not going to many places and have definitely cut back on my activity and reviews. Now, I have a whole new way to Yelp, and I cannot wait to get this party started again. I have been an avid shopgoodwill.com shopper for the last 6 years. Word to the wise, Goodwill posts the best of what they have online. The quality of the items available online greatly exceeds what is available in their stores. This is true of every Goodwill store. I have actually bought just about everything you can image from them online. Pottery, including high end artisan made pottery (one of many things I am passionate about collecting), jewelry, clothing, artwork, sculptures, uncommon collectible plates (although they sell the common ones as well), shoes, and assorted home decor. I could go on and on here. They even auction off cars! I actually decorated my entire apartment buying stuff from here. The prices really ranges, and I should stress that most of what I purchase are auctioned items. There are opportunities at times to purchase items for a "buy now" price that is higher than the auction amount, and I have done that too, but rarely. I like the auction process myself, and I am quite good at it, even if I have to say so myself. Wink, wink! Just keep in mind that before bidding, you should check out the estimated shipping and handling costs. These can really vary, and this is especially true if the item is oversized and/or heavy. That said, there are also items that are pick up at the actual location as well. This is not happening as much during the COVID pandemic and many stores (depending on the state, etc.) are not allowing anyone to enter them currently. I have paid more in shipping than I have for an item, but again, that is a very rare scenario. Also, keep in mind, these are items you are acquiring from a thrift store chain, and will likely require cleaning. It has been my consistent experience that as good as things look online in the pictures, that they look dramatically better when they show up. One caveat, to that remark, is that fragile items sometimes do not survive shipping. However, you can contact a customer service via their website and have your money refunded in full. Only once in all my years of shipping on shopgoodwill.com did one Goodwill store not refund my shipping costs. And yes, I was miffed. But now, I know to check out that policy for each individual Goodwill store. Lesson learned, Now to get to what I bought directly from this particular Goodwill store. I bought a dicrotic glass American Indian Raven brooch/pendent that I received today that is knock your sock off gorgeous in my opinion. I am afraid my picture does not do it any justice but, I will attempt to take a better photograph of it. The colors are incredibly luminous which is a large part of what I love about dicrotic glass items. It is made by Essential Glass Works and sold at the Essential Art Gallery & Fine Gifts of Moscow, Idaho. I paid $9 for the item and another $9 for shipping and handling. I can tell you from countless years of high end craft show attendance and browsing that dicrotic glass is extremely expensive. Being obsessed with American Indian culture and mythology, this was a no brainer for me. I am going to wear it both as a pin and pendent and enjoy it for many years to come. If you have not been a thrift shop shopper, now is a good time to dive in. These are financially hard times for most of us. Unfortunately.
