There are several different COE parks on Lake Bardwell which is just outside the little town of Ennis. We stayed at the Waxahachie Creek Park. With a National Parks card for seniors, this park is just $9 a night. It's hard to beat that. Plus, it was on a lake with a view and the sites were nice sized without a neighbor right at your door. The sites in our section were all pull-thrus. A couple might be a little difficult for a big rig but most were easy in and easy out. Electricity and water are at each site with a dump on the way out. Driving down highway 34 the driveway to the park is hard to recognize to begin with. Two of us missed it. It looks like a driveway so be careful. We loved the park and would definitely return if in the area again.

The sites in the middle are facing all different directions, some smaller and bigger than others. The sites around the outside are generally the same size, shape and position. All of the sites are about a 7.5/10 rating and gravel. The grounds are kept very clean! There are tons of doggy waste stations, trash stations throughout and on site recycling. Everyone I encountered staying there was friendly and polite, and staff that I interacted with were app very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here

The next morning as we are preparing to leave, we couldn't find the sewer dump, as our site did not have one so we went to the office and she showed us where it was. that was an experience in itself the sillies were closed, I was surprised there was no showers nothing. One little toilet next to the dump, and he was trying to dump the sewer , the water was off, and he had to go behind someone's RV to turn the water on as it is hooked up to that water Spicket. that was kind of a nightmare but the rest of it was OK and we had a pleasant time. Texas can have that heat and humidity. ugggh. Nasty hot!

Dog run is disappointing but Mansfield Dog park is excellent and 12 minutes away by car. Overall this park is a bit pricey though with significant jump this year without warning. Monthly cost includes water and electric plus subpar internet. Flooding is minimal and so far few power issues. Have been here one year, and give it four stars.

Personally, one of my favorite things about this place is the drinking water they have. It's a five stage filtration system that dispenses water by the gallon. I usually come here to fill up my 18 gallons of water bi-weekly, and I never had an issue paying with credit cards or cash and coins. The water tastes clean and crisp, and the pump dispenses fast. They also sell ice here as well. The customer service is great and friendly, and I'm always greeted when arriving. This is a must stop for your gallon of water needs, and it's especially convenient when living in the surrounding neighborhoods.
