Fast forward to our local kindergarten enrollment and he is extremely well equipped to tackle kindergarten. When most kids are just learning to put together words, he is already reading and writing. While YMMV, we have been very happy with our son's experience at the Montessori Academy. It is a small school with a low student to faculty ratio. There is a lot of individualized attention that I think is key component to the kids' successful learning experience.

They believe in purposeful, engaged learning and to that end the children spend half a day every week on a local farm. They have a wonderful faith based component that encourages an individual exploration of faith. And having volunteered on a weekly basis i can say why absolute certainty this school can work wonders on children who struggle in other environments. It's not cheap but it's worth very penny and the school works hard to support families with more need. I would absolutely encourage you to learn more about the method itself but also this school.

They understand and engage each child. Besides academics, they learn respect for self, others, and the community. The upper elementary grades volunteer at an assisted living facility and at the Center for the Homeless. They take learning out into the world. TMA prepares kids for the future and makes them better able to understand the world around them and their role in it. Moving to TMA is the best decision we ever made for our child. I have lost my long term job because of this!!! They are rude. staff talks about each other. they change teachers every couple of weeks. they can't keep staff. the principal shouldn't be teaching in class rooms if there is enough staff. this past year and a half by far is the worst. we miss Mrs ferand. she actually helped her community and cared about her students education. ms Taylor cares more about the money than she does these babies education. ms Thornton don't get me started on her.
