RENAISSANCE Renaissance are the top tier luxury hotels and resorts of their parent company Marriott. Little less than an hour from The Bronx and a ten minute drive from MetLife Stadium is this fitting hotel in East Rutherford, NJ. Friendly staff Decent sized clean rooms Comfortable Beds and Pillows Highway Views NYC like Bar/Lounge. Serving great salads. Decent charcuterie. And well prepared drinks sprinkled with lively bartender bar talk, topping off our stay at this NJ property. I choose this hotel because the price was obviously better than anything in New York City. We came for a quick 24hrs in New York as the hotel is in New Jersey but, close enough for driving into the city. Also, even closer the American Dream. The lobby was very nice with great decor with a small hotel store available. The rooms were very spacious with the microwave in the lobby area. I did not have time to check out the on-site bar and restaurant. The staff was friendly and there was a $12 charge for parking added to the room. The hotel sit right off the highway but, there are no attractions surrounding the hotel. Otherwise , I will be back.

I can't speak much of the hotel since we weren't guests. However, the lobby is pretty. However, if you're attending Bananas Comedy Club, as we did, double check your receipt!! (The reason I'm leaving the review under the hotel is because I understand it's the hotel who manages food and beverages.) Back in March (yes, it's now July), we attended a comedy show and had a wonderful time. We ordered a sampler platter, 2 sodas, and 2 glasses of wine. The bill comes out towards the end of the show, it's dark, and my husband hands over his credit card to pay. As we're walking out, he comments to me that the bill was over $110. Seemed a little high, but it is what it is. We get to the car and look over the receipt only to find we were charged $42, for a bottle of wine when I only ordered a glass. I spoke to a family member of a friend who works there and was told they got a new system that weekend and it was a common mistake, but an easy fix. I was told to call John in catering to get it straightened out. I've left several messages and have not heard a word.

Great hotel! I came in a few days ago for 1 night. The hotel lobby was clean, orderly, and peaceful. The front desk attendants were very approachable, helpful, and kind. The hallways are cute with the prettiest light sconces. A light walk away, I loved the first floor bathroom's luxe design. The room had spacious bathrooms and area space. READ ABOUT MY DINNER AT FINCH'S (THEIR ONSITE DINE-IN RESTAURANT) IN MY FOOD REVIEW! I love the soft pillows on the bed, very comforting. The blankets had a bit of weight which was also comforting. Thank goodness for their complimentary (on shower wall) full size shampoo and conditioner; there was a body wash available as well. Hotel sized bar of soap and lotion stood on the sink/vanity. I appreciated the extra counter space and dish. The room at night was peaceful. I chose breakfast on the 9th floor and it did not disappoint. It was buffet style. I have to return in order to learn the breakfast attendant's name. She was very helpful and kind. I put a scoop of egg on my plate with some 3 turkey sausage links; I also put 1/2 a Belgian waffle, and half a scoop of their delicious breakfast potatoes. I chose to pour a glass of orange juice. While grabbing napkins, I grabbed a croissant, delectable. It was a lovely breakfast I couldn't finish. I'm not sure if there is a pool on the premises as I did not ask. I apologize for my lack of photos; I guess this gives me a reason to return!

My family stayed here at this hotel a few years ago. We had a terrible experience and was promised by Peter Warner (Front Office Manager) a comp stay for a future stay. We recently reached out and spoke to the new director there Seidou Ngapout. He declined the comp even though I have a email stating a promise of a future comp stay at the hotel. He said they are under new management. Beware staying at this hotel because they don't honor their commitments to the hotel industry. I will be contacting the BBB about this poor hospitably and poor business ethics. If you're staying here at this hotel, don't let them promise you anything, make sure they fix the problem and give you something that they can't take away.

I had notified the concierge Daniel ahead of time that my mini and I would be arriving after 10pm due to poor weather conditions during our travels. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our reservation had been canceled. Chris was on duty at the time of our arrival and quickly stepped in to resolve the issue, which I truly appreciated. However, because of the cancellation, we were initially placed in a room that seemed like it hadn't been in regular rotation--it had an unpleasant odor that made it uncomfortable. The next morning, I spoke with the manager, Frank Super (great name!), who was both personable and empathetic. He promptly addressed the situation by moving us to a different room and adjusting the rate to account for the inconvenience. The new room was noticeably cleaner, fresh, and much more comfortable. Throughout the remainder of our stay, the staff continued to impress. Katrina, another concierge, was especially helpful in ensuring the room change went smoothly and that we were well taken care of. Overall, the team at this Hampton Inn was friendly, welcoming, and committed to making things right. The daily continental breakfast was a lovely addition and a great way to start the day. It's also worth noting that the hotel offers shuttle services, but rides need to be scheduled with the concierge on duty in advance. One small note: the lobby restroom could use more attention after hours, as it wasn't always maintained by guests. Despite the initial hiccup, the level of customer service and recovery made a lasting impression. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

The suites are spacious, the toilet and bathtub is separated from the sink and closet. The breakfast buffet was excellent! Every day they had different dishes. Great variety. There were plenty of options for people who don't eat pork and even for vegetarians. Of course there was the usual continental breakfast fare: waffle maker, assorted cereals, assorted breads (bagels, muffins, etc), fruit, and juices. Although there are some empty spaces at this minute I snapped some of my pictures, when one thing ran out they were quick to replenish it. And they made sure to keep food stocked until the end of breakfast (sometimes buffets start emptying things out well before closing time). This was definitely appreciated by those who came a few minutes before 10! The space for dining is a bit small. Every day except one, it was very crowded. But they do provide trays so you can take the food to your room, which I did each day. Having trays was awesome--such a small thing but made a big difference! They also have a hot drink area available all day: coffee, hot chocolate, and tea (although the flavors are basic).

The room itself was standard: a bed, a small kitchen, and a bathroom. Everything was clean and fairly average. We were placed in a first-floor room right next to the small indoor pool, which I do not recommend. The pool is supposed to be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., but both mornings it was open around 8 a.m., an hour earlier than posted. The noise from the pool (splashing and screaming) echoed directly into our room. I don't mind noise too much, but it's definitely something to be aware of. If you're looking for a quiet stay, avoid rooms near the pool. The breakfast was mid at best. Very typical hotel food: sausage, eggs, bagels, pancakes, oatmeal, muffins, and coffee. Most of it tasted fine, but I really did not like the sausage--it made my stomach turn after just one bite the first morning. I was also disappointed that there was no real orange juice. Instead, they had a Minute Maid-style orange/mango drink, which was not actual orange juice. I would have preferred to go out for breakfast, but since it was free, I just avoided what I didn't like. As for service, we left the room from 11 a.m. to about 6:30 p.m., and housekeeping did come in. The bed was made, but I noticed that my personal towel was taken. It was an off-white/tan extra-large towel, clearly different from the hotel's bright white towels. I noticed immediately because my boyfriend and I planned to go to the pool. I was dissatisfied with this and went to the front to ask if they could get my towel back. Luckily they took it and threw it into the laundry. I was able to get it back cleaned and folded nicely which I appreciate. Overall, this hotel gets the job done for a short stay, especially if your main goal is visiting the American Dream Mall. The price and location are its strongest points, but the experience itself is nothing memorable. Between the noise from the pool, the average breakfast, and minor service issues, it lacks the extra comfort and quality that would make it stand out. It's fine for convenience, but I'd likely keep looking for a better option in the same price range next time.

Large parts of the ceiling paint were missing as well as improper sealing around the heater.
