The lowest floor was the absolute best and is where more than 85% of where my posted photos were from (due to this and me feeling like there was only 1 realllyyyy good floor, I thought of rating this 4, but I decided against it). I loved the art and I loved the descriptions of the art even more. The museum is a "pay what you can" and they have prices as ticket suggestions. The book store AKA gift shop that is included with the museum is great! Unfortunately I didn't take any pics as I was too involved in touching and looking at everything for myself. The current exhibition is great and I look forward to the future ones. The current exhibition will remain until February 28, 2027. I will def be going back to make a few purchases at the book/gift shop!

My friends and family started early with a museum visit. I'm highly recommending you visit either during Harlem Week or any time. I have to admit I was not familiar with this Museum established in 1968. The artists were not familiar names to me. It was definitely enjoyable being in an atmosphere abounding in creative exhibits. My main recommendation is to check out the website first to see if you are open to the experience. If you decide to go buy your tickets in advance. My friend had our tickets. I enjoyed her enthusiasm as she writes stage plays. Enjoy!

I walked in two heavy doors that you can feel are hiding something spectacular behind them. I was greeted by the Curator Robert who gave us a ton of information about the space and artist. We explored the 1st and lower level. The frames, the models, the themes intrigued me and open up my creative brain into a fantasy world of black culture and how we can be seen on so many levels being true to who we are.
