We stayed at three different hotels on our Vienna/Prague journey and this was by far my favorite! The decor was very eclectic and modern, and the amenities were top notch. It had a great restaurant downstairs, comfortable beds, modern and sleek shower, and they were the only hotel of the three we stayed at where the WiFi was free. My favorite part was the artsy design of the walls and decor (even in the shower!) The hotel was very close to Schonbrunn so we walked there each day we stayed. It also is right across the street from a metro station so - do not pass up the convenience of that. Use the metro and get around town to different things! Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Vienna and would like a modern feel while still being close to the older attractions and beautiful architecture. read more

Staff was not helpful at all and made mistakes at checkout out. Tried to get refund but manement made up bogus rules as to why not. Had to go to Marriott Corprste for settlement. Very few amenities and no housekeeping to speak of. Surat when did show up. Buffet was overpriced since you get the same thing each morning. I was there for 4 days.Was close to subway which was good since very few restaurants nearby. As a Marriot Lifrtime Titanium, I have spend over 7 thousand nights over 30+ years with Marriott and this was the absolutely worst one I have ever stayed. Will never stay again and suggest alternative arrangements. read more

Beautiful, clean room with quiet restful stay. Staff was wonderful and very friendly, especially in the dining room. Breakfast was excellent. Overall, this hotel was located in a central downtown area, and very close to public transportation and shops. read more

I would strongly recommend you to avoid this place and find another hotel in Vienna with better service. With so many options in Vienna, I think that one can do better. I'm a Silver Elite member at Marriott for the past several years, currently in my second trimester of pregnancy (and obviously looking pregnant), and I happened to be visiting Vienna last month for the first time while on vacation. In my previous experience staying in other Marriott Hotels, there is typically a water fountain in the gym/fitness area or complimentary water in the front desk. I went one morning upstairs to the gym, badged in, to try to find water to fill up my water bottle. I did not find a water fountain, but saw there were small water bottles and I took a single bottle. A male employee who was there cleaning was extremely rude and argued with me, twice, and said these water bottles were just for people using the gym. As a guest at the hotel, I would have hoped that they would train their employees better at customer service - to argue with a currently pregnant guest over one water bottle simply because I'm not using the gym at that moment, is rude and unkind. Did you wanted me to start walking on the treadmill for like 5 minutes to see if you would just lay off and let me have the water? I have never had this unprofessional, uncompassionate, rude treatment in other Marriott hotels. In addition to that, I texted and emailed the hotel TWICE, they said the manager would get back to me, and I received zero follow up on the issue. I checked in on the app prior to my arrival and specifically requested not to have a corner or end room towards the hallway because I was traveling alone. The lady who checked me in wasn't fluent in English, and she mentioned that I was one of the first few guests to arrive. Despite my request, my room was at the end of the hallway. I had to go back down and wait in line again, while many guests simply approached the front desk without queuing, and the employees helped whoever approached first. When it was my turn, she gave me a room on another floor that was in the same spot. I clarified multiple times that it was still a corner room because it had the same number. I don't understand how an internal employee could have such little sense of the layout, even by looking at the screen. She even told me that she would not change it again for me, so I had to seek help from another employee. They had to downgrade my room after I waited two hours to eventually get a non-corner room. Mark was the one who eventually helped me out. I called housekeeping to ask for a pair of slippers and a toothbrush, but I never received them in three days. At 6 AM the 2nd morning, there was a very loud noise. I sent a message on the app to have the hotel check what was going on because I was worried someone might be in a fight or having emotional distress. The hotel responded at 10 AM, saying they would check. The staff in the restaurant were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and quick, and the hotel is 2 mins from the subway, which made me reluctant to complain. However, my mobile key didn't work on the second day, and my physical key didn't work on the last day, so I had to spend time resolving the hotel's unprofessional problems. Lastly, the night after I checked out, I received an email with a parking invoice. I Did Not Park at the hotel during my stay! This behavior is like theft, stealing customers' money without explanation. What's even frustrating is that non of their phone numbers online worked. read more

Really enjoyed my stay here. It's not in the city center but the metro is right in front and easy to navigate. Breakfast was delicious. The restaurant for dinner was also very good. Love the bathroom decor and the beds were very comfortable and as expected from a Renaissance hotel. Bonus points for the air conditioning which is hit or Miss at most hotels in Europe. read more

I didn't pick this hotel. My son did. We haven't done Christmas in 7-8 years together so he thought we could go to Europe. We met up in Vienna on December 22. I got to the hotel about an hour before him. He prepaid and checked in on line so she gave me a key. One small glitch- she thought my husband reserved the room. I corrected her and said my son reserved twins. She immediately fixed it. New system, room keys make elevator work as well as the lights in your room. Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Very decent size. Toiletries are great. Front desk staff has been helpful in making change and calling restaurants for Christmas hours. Thank you. Restaurant has a separate review- some services were great, one guy was not. Requested late check for 2 pm, housekeeping started around 9 am knocking. Short walk to Schönbrunn Palace. U4 is directly across the street. Bahnhof Meidling station is 20 minutes, almost a straight walk. Underground parking available at hotel. read more

A nice Vienna hotel located right in the shopping district. It was just a block away. The rooms were modern and a good sized. They have a sauna up in their 7th floor gym room. Co-ed. I didnt get a chance to use this one. The grocery store is close by just two right turns away to get to the Sparc grocery store. I had a hot sandwich with kaiser roll and some sort of meat with cheese and chillis embedded in it that the nice counter lady recommended. It was delicious, one of the best sandwiches I've had. Very simple sandwich but super memorable. We picked up some other local european eats while here as well. Later in the evening we went to a local Mozart concert. Breakfast buffet was pretty good here. Located in the lobby restaurant where the bar is. They had soy milk here which the other buffets didnt have and I appreciated that. read more

Fairly straightforward to get to from the airport with the S7 and U4, and easy to get into the city via the U4 line. Ubahn station is literally across the street. The breakfast was a nice free addon when paying with Visa cards. Rooms have a modern design. Wish it was near the action but for the price I paid, it was worth it. Got me to use and see the public transit in Vienna. Biggest drawback would be the lack of dining options in the area. read more

The Renaissance Wien Hotel was remodeled a few years ago and the hotel was modern and contemporary throughout. It was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our travels in Austria and Switzerland. Our room was very comfortable, with a good bed and nice furnishings. We had a nice view of the city overlooking the river. Breakfast included a good variety of options but there was not enough seating for everyone because of some large tour groups. read more

Not my normal hotel, but not bad. The hotel itself was fine. I really only look for a place to lay my head at night. The staff is friendly and helpful. What stands out is the restaurant staff. Super friendly! The gentleman who primarily tends bar was terrific. I mentioned the first night that I am trying to learn and improve my German. He went out of his way to practice with me whenever I was there. He also encouraged the rest of the staff to speak only German to me as well. I really appreciated the extra effort! I don't know if I will stay here again ( not my first choice compared to my normal hotel), but definitely my first alternate. read more

We stayed here because it had the lowest rate for the time of our stay. The hotel isn't located in the middle of everything, so it'll require a train ride to get to most of the attractions. It is, however, within walking distance of the Schloss Schonbrunn. It took us around 20 minutes to get to the palace, but then my 69 year-old mom was walking with us. The attendant told us that it's a 10 minute walk. She must've meant at a very brisk pace when it's not 90+ degrees with high humidity. Anyway, the hotel is located across the street from the train station, so it was convenient to get to when we arrived from Czech Republic. The hotel is large and staff speak English quite well. They offer tours and sell tickets for the hop on hop off tours. I purchased tickets for the hop on and hop off and day trip to Salzburg from them. Rooms are large enough to comfortably accommodate 3. Our room had two double beds and a refrigerator as well as a TV. What I didn't like was that we were limited to half an hour of free internet a day. That's not a lot considering that my sister and I both need it. It was a good thing that we didn't have to write emails to many. Another con, as I stated earlier, is its location. Located on what seems to be a more residential area, there weren't many options for restaurants, especially ones that took credit cards. There were a few times when we couldn't try a restaurant because we didn't have enough cash, and of course, the banks were already closed. We ended up eating two dinners at a little booth that sells take away Chinese noodles. We also ate at a Vietnamese restaurant that cooked dishes upon request because they were affordable. I'd recommend Renaissance Wien Hotel if you're looking for a cheap place to stay. I wouldn't recommend it if money isn't a concern. It's too far away from the city center. read more

It is a bit far from the city center, but the metro is across the street and only a ten minute ride. I did not find the location to be annoying at all. The rooms seem pretty old. Old box television in the room (no flat screen). Old looking carpet. The lobby is pretty nice, but the rooms could use some upgrading. Also the location is not that exciting but it's right across from the metro so you can easily get to downtown Vienna. read more

I like the hotel. For a renaissance its a bit below avarage i would say, but the staff and easy access makes it my favorite in vienna. Fairly late posting this (hotel stay was in July) but I absolutely adore this hotel and will hopefully come back to it. If you are Silver Elite, please be aware the checkin is further around the corner of the front desk towards the elevator. An attendant is seated there at a desk specifically for those with elite membership. The bar downstairs provides a classic area made lively by knowledgeable bartenders as well as hotel guests. please, Please, PLEASE try the Orient Express drink journey if you're here for two days (or have an extensive time to sit and drink). It was the highlight of my bar trips which it should be noted the bar does not open until 1700. The hotel is clean, standard room is spacious with an amazing bathroom, small fridge, television with your greeting, and coffee area. The train station is an 8min walk away and will easily take you to the airport (one transfer is necessary) or toward the city center (transfer vary depending on area). If you need ideas to avoid crowds ask the attendants and if you want, take the walk all the way to the royal gardens (bathhouse present) and the palace. It's the ideal location if you want to avoid driving. Also, small grocery store across the street and ask each attendant their favorite place for schnitzel (answers vary). read more

My husband and I stayed here in 2004 or 2005 not sure. The hotel staff and services were great. Everyone was just very helpful, as a tourist we needed that. We stayed at a suite that had a private balcony and an additional half bath for a visiting guest. It was clean and modern room. We took cabs to almost all destinations. Which means not so central in location. But short drives. Will stay again. read more

Absolutely wonderful. The bartender, Christian, was the nicest and most accommodating guy. I absolutely recommend this hotel, it's location next to the metro is perfect. The only downside was there was a crying baby in the room next to us for several nights, but the hotel offered to let us move to a new room. read more
