These guys make the party happen! I work as an event camera cinematographer in Chicago and first meet Eric, the front man of Rendition at a local club summer of 2013. I arrived with a wedding party for a video/photo shoot and Eric played along with me as an excellent MC and announced the impending wedding and got the whole bar to cheers the wedding couple. He had no obligation to do so, but was more than happy to. About half a year later in Feb 2014 I had the pleasure of working with Eric and his wedding cover band Rendition at the Palmer House in Chicago. As a vendor who works with many bands in Chicago I especially appreciate the personality of Rendition. Everyone in the band is extremely friendly, and very talented performers. Eric is a natural MC. He has a playful relationship with his audience and can sing better than most of the folks on the radio! The range this guy has is remarkable! I wasn't sure that we had a "dancing crowd" but with Rendition at full capacity after the traditional moments of the wedding were finished was an epic dance party! Rendition played at our wedding on 9-10-11 and they were a HUGE hit! The night started off by Eric Ortiz playing acoustic guitar during our dinner hour. Our guests were impressed by his talent and the breadth of songs he played. It was romantic and engaging. Eric also served as emcee of our wedding, so we certainly got full service attention from him! He announced the wedding party, engaged us and the crowd, and was excellent with names. As soon as we were done with our first dances, Rendition started rocking out and people swarmed to the dance floor. The songs kept getting better and better, and the dance floor was crowded the entire night! The band took a half-hour break half-way through the wedding, which was great because they played normal music (sound recordings) like the stuff you hear on the radio. It was the perfect balance for our wedding because we had pop music that's current during the break, paired with classics like Don't Stop Believing. It only made people want to dance more. Now that we've been married for a few weeks, it feels great to get compliments about our wedding. We continue to hear "that's the most fun I've ever had at a wedding" "where did you find those guys?" "my legs hurt at the end of the night because I was dancing so much!" and "best wedding ever!!!!" Especially because a wedding takes so much time to plan, those reaffirming words make us feel even better about our magical night. Leading up to the wedding we met with Eric three times to work on our song list. He was extremely accommodating and enthusiastic about our big day. I especially appreciate that he kept saying "let's do it" "fantastic" and "awesome." Eric and Rendition were open to every single thing we asked of them and made the whole process really easy. More importantly, I trusted Eric and had 100% confidence that Rendition had things under control. They knew what songs to play, they worked out how to load-in, and had top-notch equipment. If you're interested in booking them (which I HIGHLY recommend), you can see Eric play acoustic at RockIt on Hubbard Street in River North from 12 - 3pm on both Saturdays and Sundays. Eric played at my ceremony, cocktail hour and Rendition played at the Reception. I can not begin to express my love for Eric. He is a complete ROCKSTAR. His talent is off the charts. But his talent doesnt even compare to his personality. He is kind of person you want to be friends will. He's genuine, caring and positive. He works his ass off to get back to his clients and always puts their needs at the top of his to-do list. Throughout my wedding process, I have always chosen to work with people who love their jobs. I saw these guys play at Bub City a few days ago and they were awesome. Played tons of country hits and the lead singers voice is awesome. Kept going from song to song too with no breaks. I would definitely hire them for a party or wedding. read more

My daughter threw a surprise birthday party for her husband. She hired just Eric Ortiz of the band. She had never even heard him perform but had heard very good reviews. He was wonderful. I am 60 years old and there were a few others my age but mostly 20 & 30 year olds. The music was great. He ad-libbed a lot and was really funny. Very appropriate and his voice is great. There was a lot of dancing and everyone enjoyed themselves. My wife said the next day that he had made the party a success and I agree. Hire this guy! You won't regret it! read more

My wife and I hired Eric to play during our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and he was an incredible acoustic performer and entertainer! He took the time to meet with my then fiancée and I two times prior to the event, learn the pronunciation of every name in wedding party, and determine / honor our needs and wants for the occasion.
