There are always instances where Renee negotiates to save me money or make me more money. She's also very responsive with her communication. Right before that, she also told us how many buyers would come through, how many offers there would be, how much she expects to sell it for, and the exact date when the property should go on the market and she was right every single time. When the buyer had some ridiculous requests, Renee knew exactly what to say and she crafted every response and message to perfection. Renee was the selling agent for our new home. She worked with the elderly couple who was moving out and spent $70k of their money to "update" the house. The kitchen was done so poorly, it should have been an embarrassment but Renee still marketed it as a "chef's kitchen". The home depot cabinets were installed backwards, there was an extra hole for the vent that installed incorrectly, shelves and knobs were missing, there was ZERO thought put into the layout (the fridge and stove were sandwiched next to each other). We have high ceilings with beams, Renee's painters literally painted over duct tape all long the beams. The "designer lighting" is from IKEA. She had the painters paint right over tile in the bathrooms and within one day of usage the paint was peeling up with every step on the shower floor. The hall closet had a new hollow door installed but was unable to be opened because of a light fixture installed in the hallway, so instead of reconfiguring the light or the doors, she simply had someone nail the closet door shut. We purchased the home with the intent to do a full remodel but I believe it is worth pointing out Renee's unethical marketing and clear intent to put "lipstick on a pig". I would never work with Renee to sell my home if this is the type of work she finds acceptable. read more

I was familiar with Renee's business as an Eichler specialist through mailings and listings I'd seen for Lucas Valley over the years, so I knew of her experience when it came time for me and my siblings to sell our childhood home. Quite simply, Renee redefined our conception of what a real estate agent could be. She is the *complete* package--you do not want anyone else by your side when trying to buy your future home. We all have an idea of the kind of person we are looking for in an agent, but for an average home buyer who doesn't do this sort of thing everyday, it's impossible to imagine all the things that go into making an amazing agent, and why having all those things in one agent matters. In our case, it did matter, because it's only due to Renee's expertise in each of these areas that we were able to find our dream home. Here's the best way I can break it down: Competence: - Renee's knowlege of Eichlers in unsurpassed. She loves Eichlers (check out her license plate!) Whether it's all the different neighborhoods, how much they should cost, or judging their weak points and their potential, Renee is the go-to person. We started looking for a modern homes all over the Bay Area, but as she got to know my wife and me better, she was able to steer us towards an area with confidence we would be happy here. - Renee has an amazing network. She always has her ear to the ground, and is likely to know about tips and leads before other agents in the area. Case in point, Renee knew that the house we ended up buying was going to be on the market before it was even listed (and it was even a sale by owner!). Because of this we were able to meet the owner, tour the house, express our interest, and put in a bid at exactly the right time. In this market, that little headstart made all the difference. After we bought our home, she also hooked us up with an amazing contractor known as the "Eichler whisperer" with unbelievably reasonable rates. Renee, just because she is who she is, even started lining up people to rent our home AFTER our purchase because we were contemplating a delayed move in. It's like in meeting one good person in Renee, we met a whole bunch of incredible people. - Renee is a master negotiator and knows how to bid like a Jeopardy winner. Just like the Jeopardy champ somehow knows what everyone else is going to bid, Renee came up with the right number for us to get the house without overpaying. She timed it perfectly so that she knew how many bids were on the house first, used that info to suggest a number to us, and submitted the bid. We won, with only a small amount above the next highest bidder. Communication: - A great listener, and very patient. We spent about a year looking for our house. Renee stuck with us at every step, even as we switched among the peninsula, East Bay, and finally Marin. Others could have tired of all the scenarios we went through, but instead Renee used all that information to find the perfect area for us to live. - Near instant communication. Throughout the whole process--scheduling tours, bidding, closing, etc.--Renee's communication was flawless and near-instant. Morning or evening, it seemed like she was working only with us. Still not sure how she accomplished this. - Proactive. Like I said, she targeted our house before it was even on the market. During our closing we also unfortunately chose Bank of America as our lender. Renee actually warned us about how bad they were, but they did have the best rate at the time. True to her prediction, our lending agent lost documents we submitted, mailed our applications to the wrong address for 3 weeks in a row, and went unreachable for 2 weeks! They were so incompetent we had to request an extension, and nearly ended up losing our earnest money and the home. Renee was a saving grace, calling them every day to facilitate whatever she could, and working with the seller to assure them that our mortgage would go through. Thankfully it all worked out. Personality: - Caring, optimistic, fun, and down-to-earth. Again, with all the millionaires outbidding the common person, tiny homes going for crazy prices, and heartbreak that's just inherent to looking for a home in this market, Renee was the perfect person to help us through this whole thing. She's hilarious! We always had fun hanging around her--you might think that as the owner of a very successful business and as the so-called "Queen of Eichlers," she might have a bit of a chip if you know what I mean, but nothing could be further from the truth. She's totally down-to-earth, a mom and a professional, and works incredibly hard just like the rest of us. With her personality, and despite our anxiety, she turned the whole pressure-cooker situation into something fun, and was relentlessly optimistic that we'd find something we loved in our price range.
