I haven't heard back from anyone regarding my complaint and when I did before all I got was someone will contact me or did I bring these concerns to the contractor company USA WINDOWS & DOORS. I called renew today again and he said I sign the contract stating that everything was complete. When the company USA WINDOWS & DOORS first came and started the process I was informed that I needed to sign the completion paper (forced) in order for them to start the process or they will leave with the material!? I knew better and I shouldn't have signed it because they were only starting the process and not complete but now I am feeling like I was scammed someway some how. Here we are a year later and every time the inspection is scheduled nothing happens. They haven't finished the work and I am BEING CHARGED ON MY MORTGAGE already and it's not complete. I applied with Renew Financial for solar and was told my odds were good. We got denied due to a supplemental tax bill we were unaware of so we paid that and the rep at Renew Financial said we should be good now to reapply. So we did and got denied again. The same rep said it was due to an error and he had fixed it and that we should now be good to go and to apply again. So i did and got denied for a third time but was not given a reason. Completely ridiculous and unprofessional of Renew Financial. Not to mention the hit all of the inquiries made on my credit score. read more

Less than 1 Star. We paid off our loan after two years. Robbed us blind. THEN took our tax lien payment. Instead of refunding us immediately (it went to them electronically from tax assessors office),we were told in no uncertain terms that we would not receive refund until October AND and no interest attached. It's now the middle of November and they are still collecting interest in my tax payment. Why are they holding my money? Why? It's completely paid off in March 2019!!! Beware of California First and ReNew Finance when you secure a loan for your solar panels! Although they advertise "No Prepayment Penalty" they charge back end fees that are not legal. They charged interest on the amount I had just completely paid off in escrow. Their "policy" is that this interest is nonrefundable. My interest was nearly $1400. Do not deal with this company at all. They are deceitful and lie. The explanation of their financing practices are far from the truth. I had Canopy Array install solar panels at the cost of $18,680 which was fine. My problem came with the financial institution. I tried to sell my house 4 months after the solar was installed. But what the didn't explain was that they had put a first lien against the house. Now that makes it very difficult if not impossible to sell your house unless you payoff the $18,680 in its entirety, because the buyers mortgage company would be a second lien. Most all mortgage company will not fall into a second lean for obvious reasons. They want to be paid first if anything happens. Renewal Finanace WILL NOT BUDGE!!! I am a contractor that used Renew for a pace loan. The job has been completed for 2 months and the we have not been paid. No body at renew will return calls. You can t talk to a live person. I hired a lawyer and sent them a demand letter. No response. They have let go many people in the company. Maybe going out of business. If you use them you also may lose. read more

At my contractors behest, I tried to finance a small window project through CaliforniaFirst. I was interested in the PACE program because of the tax benefits. Instead of CaliforniaFirst, I got this company. Within minutes of submitting the loan application they sent me several emails, called my cell (at night), and started pushing to increase the loan amount. They also changed the interest rate after quoting me different terms over the phone. They keep asking for the same information over and over. Now they want to see my W-2 (the only reason i can decipher is so they can offer to lend even more money). The terms they sent me in an email don't make any sense to me (7% interest for a 5 year loan, 8% interest for a 25 year loan of same amount). After two phone conversations and several emails I still haven't seen any actual loan documents and now they are asking for my address/social etc again. The entire process seems built to scam people with bad credit into bad loans and then fall back on the government guarantees for repayment. read more

In the process of getting refinance quotes on our property and just discovered that Renew Financial/CaliforniaFIRST will no longer subordinate as of October 2017. They will maintain their superior lien position on your home. This means that if you get a PACE loan from Renew Financial/CaliforniaFIRST for home improvements, you probably will not be able to refinance your home unless you pay off the loan (either with your own money or using the equity in your house). Now if you have a small loan, this may not be a problem, but for my +$26,000 solar system this pretty much kills my chances of refinancing since I would have to do a cash-out refi with a higher rate just to pay off the solar loan. My advice, don't use PACE if you don't want to have complications that could stop you from refinancing or complicate selling your home. If you must use PACE, find another company and ask if they will subordinate if you refinance (although this can change at any time, as it did with Renew Financial/CaliforniaFIRST) read more

WORST LOAN EVER!! These guys are con artists. I took out a loan for a new roof less than 6 months ago and now want to pay it off. They are changing all the fees from what was on my closing docs and trying to make me pay more. I already made a payment on my property taxes and Renew says I won't get that back for nearly a year and they won't give me any interest on that!!!! Worst company ever !!! Do not do business with them, please stay away !!! I have never heard about these type of loan until our mortgage bill increases significantly, with my due diligence in what I've gathered, a construction company processed a claim loan against our property. Apparently, they process everything electronically so the construction company was able to hack all the info needed to get in and complete the process with them as being us. With that being said, the construction company made a dummy construction company who only to process claim indicating they will be completing projects in homes but never will and get the money from renew financial. They now receive a big check from Renew Financial and the loan is now In our hands. The loan is a first lien against the property which is collected with the tax property. We had no knowledge of this being processed, complete fraud on the construction company and Renew Financial with their process of everything being electronically. So here we are today. With this 9 percent loan of $40,000.00. Which in time will be double and 80k if all said and done is paid for. What a rip off right ? I would never in my right mind get a loan at 9 percent for upgrades in the home, I would simple pull out equity with better rates. Fast forward, I contact Renew Financial in regards to this new loan against our property, customer service process a complaint claim and find out there is only one person who handles complaint claims ! No one else ! Therefore, the only person in contact or knows anything about the complaint would be her. Ashley, she never picks up calls, never calls back, just simply send some emails back and some loan documents over the mail. Not once have I spoken to her. After she investigated the matter, has she resolved anything !? No, nothing. No help whatsoever ! 3 months in, emails after emails and calls to their customer service team to have her reach out to me, she sends an email indicating of the wrong doing of the construction company (this clearly shows they have proof of the fraud case) and for us to handle this with the construction company! What ? So.... the construction company fraudulently used our info to process a loan and Renew Financial let it happen, but now we have to take it up with the construction company? Renew Financial knowing this is fraud but still not taking any responsibility. What type of company is this!? Now they have their loan, they don't care what happens to the victim. I am currently looking into an attorney for legal actions. If I can give this company a 0 star it would be negative 0!!! I honestly would like to speak to their CEO about this case if this is how they treat people ! I WOULD GIVE THEM a 0. Don't Do It. I have dealt with this company on a complain for the past 1 year and half, and I'm still waiting for them to give any results. They referred me to a company called Highcraft Home improvement, they did a terrible job $60000 worth of nothing everything that they did was done half way, I found out when the Solar didntwork and HAVC starting leaking. When I contact renew they told me they will have Highcraft to fix all the issues I was having. I was told by the CA contractors complaint department that the work they had done was a very poor job, and it was done only to look descent so I could sign them off, but on reality the roof, Solar and HAVC was a Mickey Mouse job. my roof started leaking possibly 2 months after installation, then the HAVC had pieces that started to come apart, one of those pieces almost fell on my son. Back in 2016 I spoke to Jesus in the complaint department, but he said they couldn't get a hold of their contractor. I had to refinance my house because I couldn't afford to pay the financing of renew and find a new contract/company to fix this mess they left me with. I believe and my experience has been that this company is not honest and has questionable practices. I thought I was getting California First loan for home improvement (AC and Heating) but was sent to this Renew Financial which after I applied called and told me I was approved for 98k. The company misled me into thinking I was approved, and that I only needed to verify income, which I did. A week later, I get a phone call stating that my income is half what it actually is, and what I provided to them (tax documents) to prove it. I assume they do this in order to charge more interest. I decided to drop the application because I felt they were misleading and not honest. They also implied that no credit check is done, stating only verification of income is required, which turned out to be false. They also refused to give me the manager's name, and told me a manager would call that never did. I am soooo happy this happened and I canceled after reading the other horror story reviews here. Please listen to the review on 11/26/2017. We too signed up for an energy loan with Renew Financial in December 2015. Initially all was well. We refinanced our house in May of 2016 it took a while but the subordination was done. Fast forward to May of 2017 again a refinance pretty much no problem. Now Novemeber 2017 our lender called to say they would lower our interest rate, We contacted Renew Financial and was told that they no longer subordinate loans, The reason, it is not profitable and is too time intensive. This is not what we were told initally. We asked could the loan be prepaid with no prepayment penalty and if we needed to refinance there would not be an issue. So now we have to come out of pocket for a large sum of money or not get the reduced interest rate. Beware of this company. read more

I worked with a local contractor to get over $60,000 worth of work done on our house. When I first inquired about the program, I was told the wrong information about our deed and was required to pay out of pocket for a notary to make changes to our deed. The program manager didn't apologize and said it was some one else's decision... well, if you are giving out information, you might want to check before you tell your customers. Then as we were finishing up the project, Renew Financial's sales manager, without our permission!, disclosed to our contractor that we were refinancing our mortgage. That had NO bearing on our financing nor did it need to be disclosed. Our contractor inappropriately and inaccurately threatened to sue us for breach of contract over misinformation provided by Renew Financial. At no point would that have affected our ability to pay. We were either paying through Renew or out of our mortgage. As we were refinancing our mortgage, we discovered that we couldn't subordinate our mortgage like we were told by the program manager. Again, more misinformation. So we HAD to include our work in our refinance. Now we could have not signed the contract and not paid the closing costs to basically have Renew Financial pay for the improvements for one day but we decided not to do that. We felt it was disingenuous. And despite how they behaved, we wanted to honor our commitment.... we're taking about over $3,000 that we paid them to (mis) manage our financing. We started asking for a payoff before the contract was paid out and recorded.. Two weeks after the request was submitted, we still didn't have an answer. Again, I reached out to our program manager who kept saying things would get done "as soon as possible" but not providing any back up information. Finally one of his emails came back saying he was on vacation and to contact another manager. I spoke to the second manager and he was surprised at what had gone down. I felt he tried his absolute best to get the payoff to me as soon as possible. But I still waited WEEKS before anything was sent to me. When we got the payoff, we were charged over $300 in prepaid interest. PREPAID INTEREST! When I said we were going to pay off the loan as soon as possible and we should get the interest pro-rated to only cover the days the loan was being held by the company, they basically laughed in my face and said we had to pay it regardless. I went back to the second program manager and got an email that he was now on paternity leave and not to email him because he wouldn't be responding for weeks. WEEKS. I get it. Fathers should be home with their kids. But then his first referral was the first sales manager. I'm not going down that route again. All I wanted back was the prepaid interest on a loan that was PAID OFF. I've already spoken to three different attorneys about the situation and am deciding how to move forward. In the meantime, I have spent all this time writing this to say DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They might finance you now and be great but long term, I can say they are not interested in customer service. In our area, there is a strange and inappropriate relationship between the sales manager and at least our contractor. There are other financial providers of PACE financing and I encourage you to find them. read more

The lien is still on our taxes and WILL NOT be removed until the county is sent a bill separation notice. A lady who I will not name at PACE said the best they can do is send a refund in OCTOBER. I was very happy with this Finance Company. I had bought a tankless wate heater and had my home insulated top, bottom & sides. They financed all the work using CaliforniaFirst and it was added to my mortgage. Easy application no long application forms or long approval process. Quick and easy. NuQuest Industries is the contractor that did the work in my house. I have to say that all their staff was very professional, curtious and friendly. They all knew very well what they were doing and I am very pleased with the outcome. A special shout out to Paul Reyes the Quality Control Technicial. Also to Raul and Francisco, they did the insulation. I don't remember the gentlemens names that added the air ducts. Howevery, they were very good as well. Do not go through this company unless you're ok with selling your soul to the devil. Read the fine print. Never was it disclosed out loud through my contractor System Pavers that a lien would be placed on our home. The PACE program seems great on the outside but there are underlining consequences. To refinance is impossible. They only accept two payments from you personally a year and must be $2500 or more making it hard to pay toward the principal. Their unethical practices should be addressed by our government and practices should be put in place to protect the consumer. This won't happen because it is our government allowing this to happen. I kept waiting for a monthly bill that never showed up. Make sure if you have already signed some cockadoo contract that you set money aside like I did or your house payment could rise substantially. They are taking advantage of the elderly as well as the middle class people. Find another way to upgrade. These unethical practices should be against the law. read more

Financing with Renew Financial for our new furnace was easy and quick. I was pleased but the payments I make take two weeks to process and in the mean time I am getting calls asking why I am late. Another complaint is there website. I want to check to make sure my payments have been received but I am unable to do that.
