I completed my recent sessions with Nikki regarding my hip replacement. Excellent front desk service getting appointments and they give their all in your appointment with them. Follow up appointments started on time and didn't finish until all my questions were answered! They are great and highly recommended! The office is clean, waiting room large and stocked with magazines and didn't have to wait more than five minutes for my therapist! Had an uncomfortable office visit where everything seemed to go wrong. It started with the copayment not matching the the copayment listed on the insurance explanation of benefits, but after going to the back room for physical therapy I was informed that there wasn't anything more that they could do to help with my problem. Jackie is amazing! I have had the privilege of being her patient multiple times, and am so thankful for her guidance in rehabilitating a wrist and elbow fracture simultaneously, (another) elbow fracture a year later, and decreased mobility in my shoulder from years of bad posture and subpar swim technique. Jackie is very knowledgeable, patient, and caring. She explains exercises clearly, and made sure I had the correct form before sending me on my way. Depending on where I was in the healing process, my therapy sessions comprised strengthening, stretching, and manual therapy modalities. Renew therapists see only one patient at a time, which I felt maximized each session and ensured I maintained proper form on each exercise. On occasion I have seen the other therapists, and they are all great! As an athlete, it's a scary place to be when you break a bone that's core to your sport. Jackie's reassurance and encouragement were key to my staying motivated, especially early on in the healing process--and we celebrated little milestones, like being able to curl a one-pound dumbbell or push myself up from a prone position. A happy outcome: Just one year after breaking my wrist and elbow I qualified for the Masters Nationals swim meet, and even swam a lifetime best! The Renew Novato front desk staff is awesome--professional, competent, kind. They remember your name and always warmly greet you. Scheduling appointments was easy via phone or email, and they will add you to a wait list if your preferred day/time isn't available. A shoutout to Angelica, Madison, and Amber for making scheduling and figuring out insurance simple! I moved away and am sad to have finished PT, but Jackie sent me off with a great plan for continuing to strengthen my arm and keep my shoulder mobile. Outstanding assistance and therapy by Renew PT and my therapist Chelsea. In a few sessions she began with some tips for recovery (shoulder bursitis) but soon noticed that I was "recruiting" other muscles and carrying my shoulder wrong. At first this seemed awkward and counterintuitive, but she was right: by correcting my form and restarting "forgotten" muscles, my shoulder became more flexible and symptoms rapidly clearing after a couple weeks. I have written about 2 negative reviews in 10 years but felt compelled to do so about this business. I have severe SDS or shoulder impingement syndrome and my doctor prescribed six weeks of Physical Therapy. I walked into their office two weeks ago and asked if they accepted my insurance Anthem HMO and gave the teen or young person a copy of my card and she made a copy and said "lets schedule you now". So I dealt with my shoulder pain for two weeks, taking 3-4 800 milograms of Motrin a day to handle the pain and inflamation. It was the day before my appointment this Tuesday the August 10th when I received a call saying, "Sorry we can't accept your Anthem insurance". Two weeks of chronic daily pain and they wait the day before my appointment to tell me this!! How unprofessional is that? They ofcourse offered to see me if I paid personally. 1. This is obviously a management/owner problem because when a patient walks in with a six week prescription for PT and is in pain, which I told the young women, a caring business would call them ASAP if they learned Anthem won't pay them for their work. 2. I know we all make mistakes so I called them back Monday night, the day before my appt. and called them out, nicely, and said this is not cool to make me wait two weeks as I could have scheduled with another PT office. Now I have to wait another two weeks in PAIN. I waited for the women I spoke to, the manager, or the owner to call back and do the ethical thing and simply apologize for their error. I would have accepted it and moved on. I received no call and no apology which tells me this business owner is about earning the money more then patient care. I've made my share of errors in my business and myself and my team always apology sincerely and make it up somehow to our clients. This is what good caring business owners do and I live and work in Novato and Marin and Sonoma and we have a lot of honest and caring small business owners! Their video is slick I noticed and owner brags about opening up a 2nd office in SF to earn more money no doubt. No wonder they have no recent good Yelp reviews and only two in 2020. What does that tell you? Beware of this business. I hope and my guess is their sub contracted therapists are competent and caring, but their owner and manager didn't show it to me. read more

I've been working with Lela for a few months and I've been so impressed how she has helped me in so many ways! I fell, hurt my shoulder, sprained my wrist. Hurt my arm, and hurt my tailbone bad along with other issues I have been having (I have a Neurological disease.). She's showing me how I can actually modify things to live much better. She's very knoligable.. She's been giving me homework that truly helps me a lot. It blows me away! I like her as a person too which helps a lot! I really can not say enough about how good she is! They were booked for a few weeks but they put me on the wait list and I was able to go in once a week and get started with home exercises. As a lifetime athlete (and daughter of an elite marathoner), I have had my share of injuries AND treatments. In fact, I went through a period of about a decade where after nearly every race entry submission, I would end up with an injury preventing me from completing the race. I fell into a cycle where I ended up with two stress fractures in my hip within a 4 year period. Then I found Imee. I have been seeing Imee intermittently for two years now for a range of minor running/swimming-related injuries (Achilles tendonitis, etc.), but mainly on a maintenance program to make sure that I never have that horrible MRI result for my hip again. Imee is incredibly knowledgeable in her field and is personally invested in helping her clients realize their goals, whatever they may be. Bottom line - training at the level I want to train at requires a small village, and for most of us, it is short lived. I don't know how long my racing career will last, but I can 100% say that I would not have had the successes and incredible life milestones of the last 2 years without Imee's unparalleled attention to her clients and impressive understanding of the human physiology. Her skillset is not limited to one part of the body; she has seen me for shoulder injuries, hip/SI joint issues, and most recently chronic Achilles tendonitis. With each body region she has helped me immensely with PT exercises, manual therapy (she is amazing!!), cupping, and when needed, she has recommended me to Ortho's and other specialists. Every treatment with Imee has proven helpful. In 15 years as a distance runner, I have never had another physical therapist or specialist for whom I can say that. During these two years since my first appointments with Imee, I have won two Olympic triathlons, set a 12 minute marathon PR (landing at top 100 women at the NYC marathon), and podiumed in two 1/2 Ironmans, including the St George 70.3 last weekend (pictures attached). I am now onto the World Championships 70.3 in South Africa, and for the first time I do not feel weak, or so easily breakable. I feel strong and healthy, with a PT program to support maintaining this level of fitness and a tremendous respect for the physical therapy that has helped me get here. As mentioned, this wonderful adventure of racing, setting goals, and actually chasing my goals, may not last forever (because so many miles really is pretty crazy!), but I am beyond grateful to the Renew PT team for helping me cross these finish lines. Overall my experience at Renew is relational, educational, nurturing and skilled/experts in their craft. For this particular visit, I met with Imee who is a women's health specialist. I'm pregnant and gained a lot of weight in short time (20lbs in 8 weeks). She taught me new techniques to breathe, move, and sit to support my growing body as well as made adjustments.I took everything I learned and incorporated into my day to day including my workout. I cannot provide enough positives about Renew Physical Therapy in Novato, particularly therapist Michael Fenno. I came to Renew for rehabilitation for post-op rotator cuff surgery. Michael provided a concise overview of the rehab program including timeline, what to expect, etc. He also solicited questions from me and provided detailed answers to those questions. This continued throughout my progress, which at one point stalled due an unrelated medical issue. Michael made adjustments to my progress in response to this issue and got me back on track. I just completed my post-op program and could not be more pleased with the results of Michael's stellar work. I HIGHLY recommend Renew Physical Therapy and Michael Fenno in particular. On first sight of the reception area I was pleasantly surprised and it only got better as I was taken back for treatment. Excellent and timely communication between my doctor and his nurse. Christine my therapist noticed an abnormality with the swelling of my knee and contacted my doctor straight away-Turns out that I had an infection and was put on antibiotics immediately. Six weeks since my knee surgery and five weeks since I started physical therapy and I'm back cycling again! I can honestly say that Renew made my recovery bearable and speedy!!! In 2019 I had extensive shoulder surgery with 5 things being repaired. My surgeon had me in a sling immobilized for 7 weeks so when I started PT I was terrified and in a lot of pain. The Renew team, specifically Imee, got me healthy so I could accomplish my life long marathon PR this year! I came to Imee with debilitating knee pain, I could barely get through 8 miles before my knee would start bothering me. I was training for a marathon and extremely dejected. Most PTs tell me I should stop running, it is too hard on my body and not worth it. Not Imee. Imee spent time looking at my knee/hip and my running mechanics and found small tweaks (orthotics, tape, changes to my form) that all added up and allowed me to train and run the race of my life. I had NO pain during my long training runs (15-20 miles) and my knee was the last thing on my mind during the race. Imee brought me back to life, she made me feel like I could run again and she found ways to allow me to run pain free. I would not let anyone else near my knee, if you are looking for a PT, look no further. The office is beautiful and clean and well organized. Despite the schedule being booked, the staff will add you to a waitlist and I almost always got in to see Imee under the waitlist. I went to Renew earlier this year for help with the recovery on a shoulder dislocation-- this wasn't my first rodeo with a physical therapist, but of all the times I've been through PT I have to say that Renew was absolutely the best place I've been to! Unlike some of the other places I went to growing up, Steve and the team actually custom fit a workout program specifically for my injury (I expected to be handed a sheet of general exercises for shoulder workouts). Each week when I went back they would assess and update my workout routine as needed, pushing me as far as I could safely go and making sure that I wasn't hurting myself.
