When I first started seeing her, I was going through a pretty serious relationship crisis and needed support. For the first six months I met with her frequently, then weekly for a while, and for the past five years or so I've seen her monthly. It's reassuring to know that if something comes up I can always increase the frequency. Rachel is an incredibly thoughtful therapist. She remembers an impressive amount from past conversations and often brings up insights from years earlier that help put current situations into perspective. She also has a very calm presence, which makes it much easier to talk through difficult issues. What I appreciate most about her approach is that she doesn't tell you what decisions to make. Instead, she asks the right questions and encourages you to look at things from different angles so you can make better decisions for yourself. Over time that process builds a lot of self awareness. When I first began seeing Rachel our sessions were in person. Since 2020 we have met exclusively over Zoom, and I can honestly say the sessions are just as effective. She is extremely attentive and engaged, and the convenience of Zoom actually makes it easier to stay consistent. The biggest change I've seen over the years is in my relationships. My relationship with my partner, my family members, and even people at work has improved significantly. I feel like I communicate better, react less impulsively, and approach difficult conversations in a much healthier way. Another thing I value is that I can talk to Rachel about almost anything. She listens without judgment and helps me think things through in a constructive way. For anyone looking for a therapist who will challenge you thoughtfully while also providing a steady and supportive presence, I would highly recommend Rachel. There were no safety protocols at all: no masks, no hand sanitizer, and we all sat very close to each other on sofas in a small windowless room. At one point, we were instructed to pass around a toy from hand to hand. Wen Chi's lectures were gimmicky at best, with no grounding in fact and almost nothing to do with Zen concepts. Since at that point people were dying of COVID, I did ask for protocols to be put in place; none ever were and so I left; it seemed they cared more for the money than for the healing.

I would not recommend Bernadette to quite literally anybody. She had been my counselor for many…read moresessions and used those sessions against me to breach confidentiality based off her own belief system and got my life in a great deal of a mess for no reason besides her own. I would not trust her with any "real" information, which is what you express in therapy. Besides this, she did nothing through our sessions besides push back needed treatment and keep charging. She dropped me as a client once she breached confidentiality during one of the hardest times in my life, leaving me with no therapist and nowhere to turn to. I had left a previous counselor I was able to get treatment from for free to see Bernadette and I am nothing but completely dissatisfied and disgusted by the way she conducts her services.
