There is also someone coming around selling tea for the short ride. The ferry boards quickly and departs on schedule. Getting off the ferry is also easy and smooth. I would certainly do this again. Haci walked me through the three floors of the showroom and explained the various pieces, textures, linens and cotton weaves. I selected a few bath towels with matching bathmats / small towels, and a couple of traditional Turkish spa towels. The order was immediately packaged and shipped. I just received it yesterday, and I love the quality of the organic cotton and the care that has gone into the craftsmanship of each piece. I would definitely purchase from Jennifer's Hamam again, and look forward to having our handwoven towels for years to come.

The manager was very helpful and did not pressure us to buy anything. We went with two thin beach towels and two bath towels. You can really feel and see the quality. During our trip we found ourselves returning several times to this store for the unique, high quality, authentic, and decently priced handiwork. This is a tiny little shop and jam packed with unique items - hand crafted belts, shirts, and the crocheted jewellery. Every time we went in we saw something different. The crocheted jewellery was common to find in other shops as well, but wasn't exactly the same here. This store seemed to take the local common handiwork and find ways in which to make something new and stylish from it. Fantastic little place and I definitely love the unique pieces I purchased here. The service was also very friendly.

While the Grand Bazaar offers manufactured run-of -the-mill lamps that lack quality and creativity coming to KarlikTuristik will give you craftsmanship that is worth a drive out of the Sultan Ahmet area of Istanbul. From the moment we drove to the shop, Omer came outside and provided a parking space. We were warmly greeted by the two brothers Omer and Halil. Omer speaks English which was very helpful. In traditional Turkish hospitality you are offered something to drink while getting a brief history on the various lamp making techniques. Since this is their family owned lamp factory you have the option of customizing your lamp and lamp shades. We opted to customize a handmade copper table lamp made by Halil as we requested to make it slightly taller and it only took an additional 30 minutes and we were able to leave with our new table lamp. We went in thinking we wanted one type of lamp but opted for the handmade copper lamp. They ship worldwide and will accommodate charges to your countries electrical needs. I can't recommend this store as your one stop shop to purchase your dream lamp in a family atmosphere. The shop owner and his brother are so kind and showed us how they hand make their lamps. They had so many different kinds and colors and would change shades out so we could see even more combinations. They also had numerous volts/cords and so we were able to purchase one that worked in our home country. We were so impressed. We ended up purchasing three lamps, which were much higher quality and much less expensive than what we had found elsewhere. I would recommend this place to everyone if you are looking for a mosaic lamp.

There's lots of stationary stores [so many in fact that i can't understand why Yelp doesn't have a…read morecategory "stationers"] but in ikitelli this is the stationers to go to. they are as friendly, as helpful. as considerate as it gets. honest. always books on sale for kids. if you can get it in turkey, they'll get it for you. - i really wanted will james' 'smokey' and he really searched. no luck finding it but he searched. the big chains don't really care all that much. and of course in the old fashioned "stambouli" tradition, a cup of tea while you wait as they look. they treat everybody with the same deference, little kids, old folks, moms or dads. they don't measure you by your tailor. there are chain bookstores i go to that don't see past my worn jeans. this is one store in one local neighborhood so you aren;t going to drive over from kadıköy of course, but if you're near Atatürk Mahallesi or Arena Park, you'll do better off here than some multı-story commercial stationers. for example, there's a place down the road a bit, where i bought a very expensive fountain pan - the manager let me fumble around looking for files and covers. everybody was too busy to help. i saw the pen, a couple of hundred TL. cartridge. i use ink, but they only carried cartridges. to make a long story short, the manager annoyed, says to me to the effect "don't you know how to load a cartridge!" as he took the pen out of my hands and forced it in backwards. i got a fountain pen pump for that pen at a shop in Eminönü the next time i was there where i've bought pens for about 30 years, but that's a schlep from ikitelli. - we had a good laugh. - i gave up dressing up lifetimes ago. at Batı they literally treat you like their veli. ıt's not just a sign behind the counter.
