Dardon's Custom Woodworks & Remodeling - Kitchen remodel with new custom built shaker style cabinets

I enjoyed working with Chris and his team. They did full kitchen remodeling in our house in 8…read moreworking days which was so much faster than any other estimate from other companies between 4 to 5 weeks. They built and installed all new cabinets, replaced lights fixtures, added new recessed lights, painted walls, ceiling, doors, added lights under the cabinets. Basically they did everything that I asked them to do. Also they agreed to put back my old granite countertop that helped me to save some money. I was very happy that they took ownership of the whole project, and I did not have to hire anyone else. Another thing that I really appreciated was that Chris was easy to work with. He gave me good advice when I asked his opinion. He never insisted on things to be done his way and always did it how I asked him to even when things had to be redone. I would highly recommend working with Chris and his team! They are very prefossional and have expertise in doing everything, and also their pricing is reasonable.

The furniture had been built to such a poor standard that I had no choice but to find someone who could correct the numerous mistakes. I was very worried about what might even be possible and of course the cost of essentially redoing the job. Chris put my fears to rest. He assured me that he could correct the problems but also had great ideas on how to change/improve the overall look. He and his team did an excellent job, were thorough and professional, timely, and a Great value for the money. I am thrilled with the finished product. If I have any needs at all in the future for custom work, I know 100% that I'll be using Chris Dardon and do highly recommend him

Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.

We sent out a project estimate requests to contractors nearby on Houzz and David was the first one that got back to us quickly! It took a couple rounds of phone tags (we are all busy people) but then we finalized got a in-house consultation setup. Before the scheduled date, David sent us an email with a couple questions, basically 'customer needs/requirements' just so that he had some ideas about what the ideal product would look like! As a product manager myself, I found that extremely useful and appreciate such notes because that really set us for success and smooth conversation later. During the in-house consultation, David did some measurement and sat down with us to go over our requirements in greater details. He fully understood our needs/requests and even provided additional and critical feedback/suggestions that we never even thought of! My husband and I both looked at each other and nodded 'HIRED!'. A couple days later, David sent us a draft of the design which was extremely detailed and comprehensive. Nothing that we requested was left behind. Contract signing was easy and smooth and scheduling was quickly done. As the installation day came, we were super excited and patiently watched the cabinets to be put together. There was a misunderstanding on my end regarding what needs to be adjusted, but David's team went above and beyond to accommodate my out-of-project-scope request without fuss. That 'No Big Deal' attitude is really what makes them extra-outstanding!!! If you're still looking, look no further. We're for sure going to contact David for further woodworks!!!

I'll list my experience below: -padded extra $400 onto quote for sink cut out and new sink which was not discussed during quote process. Luckily I saw that and purchased my own sink (also, they could've used the original sink too, so why add $200 without consulting with the client?) -added extra $40 onto granite removal charge. Quoted me $5/sq ft for removal. -cracked my backsplash and only offered $50 refund, and claimed "they're not responsible for damage" ...what?! -counter top came with scratches and scuff marks which they claim wasn't from them. It was installed in a new home where no one was living, and I saw it the day it was installed. Was definitely them -caused a leak when they removed sink, did not alert me to the severity of leak nor make any attempt to resolve it, which resulted in water piling up in my cabinet for a full day and ruined the bottom cabinets. -did not caulk countertop, so unnecessary open spaces between wall and countertop -damaged brand new cabinetry, also denied that. Sent pictures for undeniable evidence. This company is sloppy and they do not take responsibility for their shoddy work. I cannot recommend this company to anyone considering countertop replacement.

U granites & Cabinets More's product and service are so much beyond my expectations. Originally we had the plan to update the kitchen during the pandemic, Amy came to my house to have everything measured, use 3D software generate the 3D model, made sure everything aligned what we wanted. We didn't pull the trigger due to many factors. The year after, we called Amy again. She came to the house, did the measurement, did the 3D model. We backed out again. This year, we called Amy again. She didn't say anything. Came over again, did the 3D model. We paid the deposit. Finally we started the project. During this process, Amy shows her patience, professionalism and attention to the details. Once the demolition and installation started, everything was organized in such a nice, efficient, and less disturbing way. The demolition was done in a day, and every trash was picked. Amy's husband, Victor, came to the house, with his experience and knowledge, discussed every details I need to think through - We removed two parts of the kitchen area so it brought some variations. He provided the options, respected my choice, and of course, with his knowledge about house remodeling trend, to make sure I have well-educated information. With his experience and knowledge, it increase my kitchen countertop's functionality and usage area. I can't thank him enough for that. U Granites & Cabinets are high quality. If you are not familiar with that market, you will get lost - just like me walking into Home Depot to look at those prebuilt countertop and vanity. I like the cabinet's materials, how it built (those features I probably didn't really think about before). I started with the kitchen cabinets and countertops, extended to the bathroom's vanities . I am very happy about the decision, and much more appreciative what Amy, Victor and other staffs at U Granites & Cabinets More has provided. Victor did a huge favor to me by doing all kind of other jobs along the kitchen remodeling. I tell you, that's another level experience and knowledge from him about house remodeling and how to have those done correctly, effectively and cost-efficiently. Cost wise, I gave you my example. I hired a general contractor who quoted me $14K for all demolition (kitchen and tiles) only. My total cost with U granite (Kitchen countertop, cabinets and demolition) is less than that number. If you come across this shop and this review, I highly recommended at least give Amy a call or stop by at their shop to check out their offering. I would be happier that you do choose them as remodeling partners because I know you are making the correct decision.
