I drive my vehicle daily and am very familiar with its condition. Even my husband, who frequently drives my car, confirmed that the discoloration and roughness on the gear shifter were not present prior to the detailing. His vehicle is nearly 10 years older than mine, yet his gear shifter shows far less wear. It is unreasonable to suggest that this level of damage was already there. Mistakes can happen, but professionalism is demonstrated through honesty, accountability, and willingness to make things right. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Based on how this situation was handled, I would caution others and recommend asking detailed questions and documenting your vehicle's condition before service. Listen, I was quoted $300 for a full deep clean of my husbands car and to some that might be a steep price, but I feel it was 100% WORTH IT. The gentleman (I'm so sorry I don't remember his name) arrived at 8am and worked for 8 hours detailing every bit of my husbands car. This wasn't a slap job or a quick detail. This was an extensive cleaning. The car looked even better than brand new, it was nice and shiny, the windows didn't have a speck of water on them. Requested a quote for interior detailing on Yelp. They were very responsive, quoted $180, and were great when I had to reschedule the appointment the day before. The cleaner, Jesus showed up on time and finished in the estimated 4-5 hours. All my car doors were open when I was called down, I assume to air the car out. He broke the radio volume knob during cleaning but not a big deal. I did a detailed inspection of the interior and everything looked good. I went to pay with my credit card, but his card reader didn't work. Ended up using Venmo and I forgot to use Goods and Services, which was a mistake. When I came back a couple hours later, I finally saw the damage on the exterior of my car. Lots of cleaner residue on side mirrors, white spots all over. Then I noticed the chipped paint on my rear passenger door. It was in the same side the cleaning van was parked where all his equipment was going in and out. There were no other cars next to me that entire afternoon, so it was very unlikely to have come from anything else. Plus the shape of the chip would not match someone opening their car door into mine. Can't prove anything, but it certainly seems like Jesus caused it and tried to hide it by leaving my doors open. I messaged Jesus and didn't get any response. The person who scheduled the appointment did get back to me but they denied everything.
