Due to an existing medical condition, I am out of work because the corona virus would be extremely dangerous for me. Since it was so nice out, I thought I could rent a thacher to push in the yard where I would not be exposed to anybody. I called Rental Depot on Spring Street, West Roxbury and spoke to Brian. When I explained what my situation was, Brian took my credit card information on the phone and when I arrived at rental depot, he came out to my car and put the thatcher in my car as I kept a safe distance. When I called and returned, he met me at my car, took the machine from the trunk and put the slip in the trunk. Great customer service and a really nice guy. I am an African American woman, I drove 55 min from Worcester Massachusetts to The Rental Depot excited to rent two tables , 20 chairs and a few juice containers for my intimate birthday dinner tonight. When I got there I explained I didn't have a reservation to the man working. The man working said there was a male customer before us that he had to finish up with and then he would be right with us. I patiently waited with my fiancé for the man working to be done with the customer before us. Before the man was done with the first a white woman walks in with 2 children and walks past us and waits at the register. The sign on the door says you cannot enter without a mask. The woman has no mask and nor do both children . Instead of turning the woman away because she does not have a mask. He asks her how he can help her. Instead of telling the woman to wait as he did us, the man that was working at Rental Depot looked at me and completely ignored the fact that we were waiting for him to finish with the first customer and took the white woman's entire order without reservation and in the store without masks. I am so sad that that happened because I drove all this way. I will never be back there read more

I had a very good experience with Rental Depot in West Roxbury. In the middle of putting up railing on my front desk I realized that my drill wasn't going to drill the four holes in the lower concrete step. After some internet research I called up Rental Depot and spoke to Brian and he said that he could rent me a hammer drill and after a second search found the 3/8 inch bit that I needed. I drove over there and when we were at the register, I realized I needed a 5/8 inch bit for my anchor. So back to the equipment wall to find me the much bigger tool and the right bit, all with the most pleasant attitude. He showed me how to get the bit in and out and reminded me to keep pressure on the bit so that it would do its hammer thing. Back on my porch, now working by street light, drilling each 2.5 inch deep hole took about twenty five seconds. The drill went through like wood. So if you are a DIY-er, don't be afraid to go here. Brian and his staff will treat you well. Everyone was in a good mood, even though it was near closing. One more thing, the exit to their parking lot is the same as the entrance, so you have to go out the same way. It looks like you can keep going to an exit ramp but it turns out to be an embankment. Both I and my wife who returned the tool the next morning made the same mistake. To finish, this is a good, low stress place and a really good business. read more
