Everyone knows that moving is difficult, but the silver lining is encountering great kindness from the people you need to help you. That was the case with Clean Out Your House. Two bright, engaging young men came to do the job, Hakim and A.J., who happen to be cousins. They cheerfully schlepped and carried everything I could throw at them for the better part of a day, and at the end swept out the garage, the shed, and every place in the house where they had worked. When I expressed surprise at their leaving these areas "broom clean," one of them replied, "We've learned from our work that this is an emotional time, so we like to make it a little bit easier." As a real estate agent, I have checked into various cleanout services. Many of them tell the customer that they donate, recycle, etc. but they really don't and end up dumping everything. Clean Out Your House, Inc. is DIFFERENT. They care about the environment by donating, recycling and selling usable goods in their own consignment store. I recently used Clean Out Your House to remove a variety of furniture, boxes, and miscellaneous junk accumulated over 20 years from my home prior to a move. They did a tremendous job. I highly recommend them over 1-800-Got-Junk. Prior to their coming out, they sent a representative to give me an estimate of how long it would take, and the price. I didn't need to pile the items in one area either; I walked around the house and indicate what they would be taking away, and they gladly loaded their truck. It took them about 3 hours and the total cost was $800. For another small cleanout, I used 800-Got-Junk. It took about a half and hour and they charged me $450. (Unfortunately Clean Out Your House was not available the date I needed them to come out.). I would definitely use Clean Out Your House again!!! read more

This is my second time using Clean Out Your House. My mom is in an assisted living facility, and I had to clean out her house, including old furniture, a full attic, and a full cellar (about 50 years of junk). I got a very fair quote from Lauren and the team showed up on time, and got the job done in about four hours. They swept the house out when done. Larry and his crew were fantastic! I have used them twice. The first time was to move a fair amount of items from a third floor walk-up in Boston to a warehouse in Waltham. I did not accompany them to the warehouse but they put everything in neatly and mailed me the key. Then I used them again in August to help my daughter move the stuff from the warehouse to her new off campus house near Brandeis. I liked that they sorted through the things and were able to donate some items to charity. When they accidentally soiled the carpeting due to muddy wheels on the dolly, they were apologetic; the next time they came, they made sure to keep muddy things in the hallway.
