I strongly advise against using Renters Warehouse-Milwaukee. They are, hands down, the least communicative company I have ever worked with. As an out-of-state investor, I emphasized the importance of open and consistent communication, yet it took them seven business days to respond to three emails regarding a pricing strategy for a duplex I had rushed to complete. It also took two full weeks for them to explain why I was being charged for plumbing services on a property that was fully under warranty. To make matters worse, large-ticket items would appear on my statements without any prior notice or explanation. When I escalated my concerns to the owner, he made it clear that he does not get involved in day-to-day operations -- but as the owner, I believe he should when issues like these arise. I've since moved my business elsewhere and couldn't be happier with that decision. Think carefully before trusting Renters Warehouse with your real estate investments. read more

The absolute WORST property management company. We had sewage backed up into our basement not once, but on two occasions. Both times it took DAYS for them to send a vendor out to remedy the issue. Once the root issue was fixed, we then had to do the clean up ourselves. Both times. No- a professional hazmat or restoration company should have been hired to clean up the waste properly. One day delivery guys came to drop off a new dishwasher before 7am while we were at the gym. We only knew because of our ring doorbell. Nothing was coordinated in advance. They then ripped out the old dishwasher, without installing the new one, and left. We were left unable to use any water in the house as there was only one water shut off for the property. This left us in a lurch as we had no indication this would be happening and therefore had not made other arrangements. With multiple people working from home and not being able to flush toilets or even have water to drink, that becomes problematic. Renters Warehouse also treated this as though it was not a priority when it was an issue THEY caused. Whenever I contacted Renters Warehouse to try to get an issue addressed, the staff was very unhelpful and Cindy in particular was BEYOND rude and unprofessional. She would talk over me, told me that my issue wasn't urgent (I'm sorry but POOP floating in my basement and destroying my personal property is unsanitary and yes, qualifies as an emergency situation), and patronize me. It got to the point where my fiancé and I decided he would have to be the one to contact them about any and all issues because she was so unbearable. I've worked in customer facing roles my entire life and have a pretty solid understanding of quality customer service- this definitely isn't it. To sum it all up, if I knew at the beginning of my renting journey what I know now about Renters Warehouse.... my advice would be RUN. Run as fast as you can. No matter how great the house/apartment, it is not worth it. read more

If I could give them less than one star I would. Landlord and renters beware!! As a landlord in a pinch I figured I would give them a chance. They are nothing but awful. They have horrible response times on issues. Tons of hidden fees and do not provide any contact information on their emails. They are 100% unprofessional. The sales team is great and I had a good experience with them but on going management is awful. I cannot wait to end my contract with them! My renters also had a hard time working with them. And it has taken 3 weeks to resolve a water issue at my property which is doing nothing but causing more damage. Rentersware house is pretty much destroying my house by not resolving issues quickly. I made the mistake of hiring Renters Warehouse in Milwaukee as my property manager. They took over May 1 and from the get go the communication was terrible. I have to ask multiple people multiple times to answer simple questions with no response for weeks. We decided to terminate our contract within the first 30 days, and they acted surprised and wanted a chance to fix it. Nothing changed and we fired them for the second time in 6 weeks. It is scary to think these people are responsible for investors and property management. I am still fighting to get my keys and security deposits back from them! 12 years as a landlord and 9 years as a managing broker and I have never in my life had to deal with such an awful company. read more

I went with Renter's warehouse because of a recommendation from another client. I have nothing but regrets about my decision. It took nearly 2 weeks to get ahold of someone to have them come out to my house to assess things. They charged me very high rates for a toilet replacement...over $600. I could've Done this myself for under $50. I was so tired of trying to get someone to reach out to me that I gave up. They charged me a high rate for an electrical fix as well. I didn't see any money from them as far as profit goes for about 2 months. My tenant stole a curtain rod, curtains and broke my fence. I was beyond fed up at that point and so eager to get back in my house that I overlooked those things. If you hold good communication as a high priorit, look elsewhere. This is THE worst company as far as communication goes. The turnover rate is through the roof there. I had at least 3 differnt contact people over a 10 month span. When I would reach out with a concern or a question it'd literally take days for them to get back to me. When they wanted something from me they would call me non stop. They do not understand the concept of any back and forth communication. To top it off I received a water bill that should've been taken care of by my tenant. I reached out to my contact person and never received a call back. I called and left another message, never received a call back. I'm beyond frustrated with these people. I had to pay a $152 dollar water bill that I had nothing to do with. These people are scum. Look elsewhere for your rental needs!! read more

My husband and I used Renters Warehouse to manage renting our home. We had no issues until the end of the contract. We had rented to people we knew and notified them that we would be moving back and also notified Renters Warehouse. Unfortunately, the tenants did not click a few boxes on their portal so it looked like the property was still being rented. RW contacted them monthly asking for rent. This also delayed our refund, despite having a RW employee come and inspect the property on the day of move out. My husband called multiple times with limited response in receiving our refund. We then received a bill for lawn mowing services during the time when we had moved back in - so we definitely knew know one from RW mowed our lawn. And another bill from the lawn service a week later to make sure it was not too long! It took about a month for RW to respond and send pictures of the excessive grass growth. It was a picture of a house 2 doors down from us. We had to send back pics of both that house and our house to receive that refund because apparently 1. it is difficult to know that you are no longer managing properties, and 2. it is difficult to read an address. Now we still have a cash balance that was not completely paid out and are still owed $89.00 - A YEAR LATER! We cannot get this person at RW to call us back and there are no other numbers on their website. DO NOT USE RENTERS WAREHOUSE! read more

I'm a current tenant and since being taken over by Renters Warehouse, the communication is non existent. My school mailed them a check over a week ago for rent and it still hasn't applied. this company and employees aren't honest people will rip you off if you are not careful.. stayed in my previous home for 4 year owner sold the home so at end of my lease I moved cleaned and removed items from the curb did as I should. Two weeks after moving out I received another move out statement with trumped charges for cleaning of the stove 150 dollars stove isn't even worth that .. double water bill for same months and no answer from this company! PM has no clue nor does she respond in a timely matter.. please don't trust either team these ppl ain't honest .. This company does not know how to handle basic account management or maintenance services. I have dealt with a dozen different contacts since my lease began in May 2020. My homes owner moved out of state and renters warehouse took over management. Every day since has been a nightmare. I have reported them to bbb and have found an attorney. They are attempting to take extra rent for their accounting oversights and have no responses or resolution and want to steal an extra $900 in my hard earned money as a result. When my renewal occurred in may my lease was running from the 18th through the 18th and they never credited me back the 18 days of overpay when my new lease started at the beginning of May 2021; it's not rocket science. As a single hard working parent I am disgusted with your companies business practices. Besides the attempt to steal and overcharge me, I have had to shovel my own drive out even a day after I had surgery because no one could show up most of the time for snow removal services; and they completely discriminated against me when attempting to release for a short term rental while putting in home offers; however they allowed the upstairs tenant (whose lease was a week apart from mine) to rent short term for their home purchase closure. I am now stuck in a year long lease and I want nothing to do with this company and it's clearly shady and disorganized practices. read more

Renters Warehouse did a nice job finding a good tenant for us. As long as rent was paid as agreed everything was great. If you're looking for a management company who doesn't have effective communication when rent is slow pay or when lease is up for renewal, Renters Warehouse is the way to go. They also do not offer any suggestions on rent price. They simply collect rent and only pay out once a week regardless when rent is received. This means if rent is collected on Thursday, it isn't paid to the owner until the following Wednesday. If you are looking for better communication, don't look at Renters Warehouse. This opinion is based on my personal experience for a single family rental we just sold and are no longer working with Renters Warehouse. read more

Literally the worst rental experience I have EVER had! Renters Warehouse took over a property I used to live in and were landlords from hell. I lived in a duplex with filthy upper tenants. They brought mice and roaches with them and RW refused to do ANYTHING about it. I called their "maintenance" line everyday for 3 weeks with no avail. They're never at the office and they never pick up the phone. But they sure made sure they got their rent every month "or else". We had the ceiling fall in, in the kitchen and water from the tub flood the basement and we were stuck with the bill since they never responded to our messages. I HATE RW!!!! I'm currently renting a home through them as soon as we moved in we noticed the kitchen sink was leaking, one of the bedrooms have no insulation as it's very cold and I can't use the room. I contacted renters warehouse the first week of April and there's no still no repairs made, when you call the repair line you get a lady name Grace and a guy name Cory as they keep telling you they send a repair request..... these people do not care about their tenants. It's totally not worth, now I'm currently working with the City of Milwaukee to get these repairs done! Please save yourself and do not rent from these folks!!!! read more

The only positive thing about Renter's Warehouse was that we were able to find our apartment that we love, and after a year of going through Renter's Warehouse we setup a lease with the actual owners... just wait for this story... We had a HUGE emergency with burst pipes this past winter. I had shooting freezing water all over the ceiling, going through the floor, into the basement, and the kitchen. After calling the "emergency" hotline numerous times to no answer and many voicemails, I finally got a hold of someone. The emergency maintenance worker took over 4 hours to answer his phone (he never actually called us back, I just kept calling, hoping someone would eventually answer.) When he answered I asked if it was the Renters Warehouse emergency maintenance number. He said, "it might be." At this point I'm like you've got to be kidding me...He proceeded to say "lady, lady, lady.." when I was telling him how frustrated I was that he was not answering and that we needed help. I told him not to call me lady. He said, "Okay, sir!" After handing the phone off to my fiance we ended up recording him. He was obviously on some sort of drug, or drunk-because he couldn't seem to be able to write down our phone number or formulate sentences. He ended up talking about his cat and then apologizing, and stuttering. I actually almost felt bad for him but then realized we had no hot water at this point and was really disgusted with Renters Warehouse for having someone like this handle their emergencies- god forbid something else happened at another property and someone got hurt, or even died...it's an emergency hotline for a reason. He promised someone would be out there in the morning. Guess what, no one came! I ended up calling the business he told me would be coming first thing in the morning, and they told me they had no calls from Renters Warehouse. It was an absolute nightmare. The purpose of Renters Warehouse is to take care of properties so that owners can have peace of mind. We had no choice but to contact the owners directly. They ended up taking care of everything for us. The owner of the property came himself to fix the pipe. Renters Warehouse is nothing but a nightmare. Even after deciding to renew privately with the owner and not use Renters Warehouse anymore, they proceeded to send us emails about late rent and being reported to a credit agency-when we didn't even have a lease through them anymore. Extremely shady and unreliable. Save yourself and potential tenants future nightmares and run, fast, fast away from Renters Warehouse. read more

We had an incredibly awful experience with this company. It was an accumulation of many negative experiences over 2.5 years of renting with them. Some highlights: - Generally poor communication and responsiveness; we found the best way to get anything accomplished was to directly text the homeowner. - Our hot water heater was broken for 11 days. RW didn't respond to maintenance requests and we didn't have hot water during that time. We needed to get the homeowner involved to get the repair finally completed. - Our dryer was broken. A repair person came and looked at it, said we needed a whole new dryer. No one ever came back to replace it. We texted the homeowner who said he had paid $100 and thought it was taken care of. 11 days later, I called for an update and RW said they were waiting on the home warranty company. THREE WEEKS LATER, we texted the homeowner again as there had been no updates and we finally had it installed the next day (total time without dryer was 1 month, 5 days). - I once received a text message asking me to make copies of all the apartment keys and drop them off to the rental company suite. They didn't provide explanation for the request or reimbursement for getting the keys copied. They were also very aggressive in their follow-up email: "Please have an extra key made and dropped off at Renters Warehouse by Friday, May 3 or we will have to change the locks at the property. We will reimburse you for the key. Thank you for your cooperation." (Spoiler alert- they did NOT reimburse). - Our one-year lease expired and the company forgot to renew it. We continued to pay rent on time every month. When they finally realized their error, they mandated us to sign a year lease or move out. We requested either a six-month or month to month arrangement because we knew we were moving out of state in six months. They declined. - When we moved out, they withheld our entire security deposit for "Re-renting costs" because we ended our lease early. (Remember they wouldn't allow any other arrangement despite six months notice). I disputed this and they returned 1/3 of the security deposit, reporting this was the "best they could do". This was especially frustrating because the timing of us moving out would have been fine if they had remembered to renew our lease in the first place. I will also note that the "new and improved" communication system they have (see another reviewer's comments) is not helpful. It was still dealing with a different person every time, with different people saying different things. read more

Here's a fun update: After my lease ended, I wanted to get out of the house ASAP so I didn't have to deal with this sham of a company ever again. We cleaned and detailed the house so well, that it looked better than when it did when we moved in. There was no absolutely no excuse for them not to give back our security deposit in full. According to WI state law, any landlord or rental management company has 21 days from the last day of the signed rental agreement to return the deposit or a letter regarding why a deposit was not returned. As you could expect, they did not meet that deadline. I, for whatever reason, gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them 5 extra days to return my deposit. After they failed to give me anything regarding the deposit, I called them to see what was going on. Once again, they did not answer. I called every single person on their "team", left multiple messages but NO ONE CALLED BACK. What kind of place is this?! What do they even do here?? Then, I sent them a letter stating that withholding my deposit was illegal, and I would be filing a law suit against them for double my deposit plus court and attorney fees if they didn't get me my deposit by a very specific date. They then TEXTED my husband and said, "oh, we tried to mail it to you, but it got sent back as undeliverable". What a terrible excuse that was clearly a blatant LIE. Finally, because they were afraid of being sued and called out for the sham of a company they are, we received our deposit in full. And I know they were lying about the deposit being undeliverable, because the checked was dated for 1 day prior to when we received it. Again, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!! Even the person who owns the house fired them because they are THE WORST company in existence!! DON'T think it won't happen to you, because it 1000% will. If I could give negative five stars, I would. Worst COMPANY I have ever dealt with - hands down. Not even just a rental management company, which I have been a customer of many times before, but literal worst company experience EVER. We moved in the beginning of June and discovered our central A/C was not properly working. We filed a maintenance report and did not hear from anyone for 1 week. I called and called and called but no one would answer, even after leaving several messages. Finally, I got through to someone, and they told me they would have their HVAC people out there to take a look at it. NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP for at least 2 weeks. I tried calling RW back and they told me it was because the HVAC company they work with was not getting back to them. Then, I asked what company it was so I could try to get a hold of them. They would not tell me who it was. At least 1 week later, when I got someone else on the phone by happen stance, I figured it out. I called the company they supposedly worked with and they told me RW never even tried to call them ONCE. After that, I called RW back and threatened to file a complaint with the city and have a fire marshal come and do a rent abatement on the house. That got their asses in gear and finally a different HVAC company came out to do a total replacement of the central A/C. I'm telling you, this is just ONE of the issues I've had in less than 1 year. NEVER again will I EVER rent from this company and would NOT recommend to even my worst enemy. It took until the end of August to get my A/C fixed. Thanks a lot. read more

I wanted to make this post to warn about renting from Renters Warehouse (Milwaukee) Short version/highlights in case you don't want to read: They are consistently unprofessional, difficult to contact, and have a lack of concern for maintenance even when concerning tenant safety. During my time in lease with them I lived without electricity in the bathroom for 4 months, lived with a continuously leaking fridge for entire lease, was told laundry was free for use only to find the machines for use of the entire triplex were on my electric bill causing outrageous charges and they made no attempt to resolve the issue or reimburse. Longer detailed version: I recently finished a lease managed by Renters Warehouse Milwaukee (Nov 19- May 20) in the Riverwest area. I held off on making this post as their unprofessional behavior during each and every interaction with all staff members (Steven Rosandich, Josh Jensen, Cory Laabs, Carly Wisth, and others whose names I don't have) made me fear that they would attempt to retaliate against me. Now that all obligations to my old lease are completed I wanted to offer a friendly warning. I have listed the issues I personally encountered with their company below. I will often refer to "countless emails, calls, and online requests" I have saved all digital correspondences with their company for both proof and protection. It truly takes HOURS AND HOURS of your time to even get a response from this company once in a lease managed by them, I wish I was being dramatic but truly am being honest as I do not want anyone else to suffer such mistreatment. * During move in their staff member was unable to answer simple questions about the building (such as identifying the water heater for the unit) and did not have keys copied. * During move in the unit had trash (pieces of glass, broken window screens, piece of marble countertop, old light fixtures, Tupperware) left behind even though they claimed it had been "professionally cleaned". It was my responsibility to discard all of these items. * During move in their staff noted that electricity in both the kitchen and bathroom were not working but it still took countless emails, phone calls, and online maintenance requests by me for this to finally be repaired 4 MONTHS LATER! * Upon move in I provided them with a list of issues occurring with the unit and submitted these as maintenance requests. After countless emails, phone calls, and online maintenance requests ONLY TWO OF TWELVE ISSUES WERE RESOLVED! * Upon move in I was told that the laundry machines in the shared basement were free to use for all 5 tenants of the triplex. I later found, via outrageous WE energy bills, that the laundry machines WERE SOLEY ON MY ELECTRICAL METER. The company had no care or concern about this issue regardless of countless emails and calls, we were left to take this financial hit and manage the anger and frustration from the other tenants, directed at as for turning that machines off as we couldn't afford the bills, on our own. The other tenants were also left to manage installing new electrical outlets on their meter on their own. * During the very few visits from maintenance during my time there, trash was always left behind in the shared basement, in my personal unit, in the shared hallway, and even in home's backyard. This included a broken water heater, numerous cardboard boxes, old broken lighting fixtures, and various debris such as wires and insulation (which would be clearly harmful to the pets living on site). * I was asked to personally perform maintenance on not only the unit but also the shared spaces instead of the company sending out representatives. For example, the door to the shared basement no longer was able to stay in the frame as the anchor holes for the hinges were stripped (causing a hugely dangerous potential of the door literally falling on to someone as the go down the stairs). I was asked to tend to this with no offer of reimbursement for time or supplies that would've been necessary. If you have read this far firstly thank you and secondly please take this warning to heart. While interactions with this company were also an enormous emotionally draining experience I have tried my best to focus on their assaults to my well being, energy, and finances as a tenant in an attempt to prevent this occurring to others. Since I left the unit I am sure no improvements have been made as it was placed back on the market in just a weeks time. Additionally, the price of rent was raised by $150/mnth and pets are stated as not permitted even though there are both cats and dogs living on the property already. read more

WORST excuse for property management...shoddy repair work every time. They "fixed" railings/rotted wood. The screws are not drilled down, painted over rotted boards (my four year old does a better job), left 22 rusted screws laying out and this is the fix after waiting two months...second time we had an issue with their "repairs". The first time the guy had to be called back to fix it three times. He cut PVC pipes to be used on the hot water lines in our house and glued it to the copper pipes. read more

So since my last review Renters Warehouse has definitely stepped their game up! They seem to have revamped their entire maintenance process; which was essentially my only issue. They've assigned specific individuals to regions/areas (or whatever the stipulations) and it really seems to be working. Almost a year into my lease the electrical issue has been resolved (LOL) but recently a pipe burst (idk how or what caused it) RW had a plumber out within 24 hrs. read more

Renters Warehouse is charging me for water. I moved in a lower duplex, on April 19, 2018. They say I now owe a water bill. I have never heard of having to pay for water living in a duplex. I don't have a washer nor dryer in the basement because there is only one hookup and the folks living upstairs uses that. There is only one place where the tubing that's hooks up to a dryer which releases dryer fumes outdoors. I complained about that, never got a response. The most water used is for showers. They haven't responded to maintenance requests, etc. the rent is too high for a small two bedroom place, but I needed a place quickly so I settled for this. The only good thing I can say is that it was clean. I will be moving out when my lease is up that's for sure! read more

Renters beware! None staffed office, doesn't matter if you schedule they do not answer the office do. I literally had to catch the secretary outside smoking a cigarette to even get into the office door!!! Poor communication. No follow up. Will close maintenance request without doing work or following up with tenant. They will NEVER answer the phone no matter what time of day you call. By far the worse management company to exist. At first I had a problem with my landlord until I found out he was completely innocent. June my AC and Furnace went out. I used my tenant portal to make a maintenance request. Long story short, my furnace and AC didn't get repaired until Sept 19 only because the state gave me my landlord number. I called him and he had no clue I have been without a furnace for three months(illegal). Landlord called management company and had someone at my house the same day. They definitely was pissed but oh well. I wish I could rent directly from my landlord and get these scumbags out the equation. read more

This company is horrible you can never get anyone on the phone. It takes so long for anyone to come out to your house if you have issues within your home. You have to set up an appt to speak to anyone. Everyone in the main office is assholes. Please find another place to rent from. The homes are cheap and th cleient service is cheap as well.
