Its super close to where I am. This past Tuesday night, I took a hot pilates class with Jay Houston and that class was packed like sardines. There was probably 60 people in the class and it was a very hard class. Im in decent shape and man this class was really testing me. And it was beyond hot. Im glad I got thru it but not sure I wanna take this class on the regular. I just no longer feel like thats what my body needs. Tonight, I took a Flext class with Scarlett Salem and wow this class was soooo good and definitely my speed. It was heated and we did a lot of really great hip and low back stretches that I love and need. Instructor was very good, very clear and I enjoyed every minute of this class! 10/10! The heat was set just right and I still sweated a lot but also got in a really deep stretch session but not to the point where I felt it was overwhelming. After doing a quick search, I found that Imagine Yoga & Wellness Center offered prenatal yoga classes during after work hours and it wasn't too far from home. Eureka! After my first prenatal yoga class with instructor Anu (who is also a mom!), I was hooked. I went consistently from the time I was four months until I gave birth at nine months pregnant. My yoga practice helped me with agility, stamina, flexibility, and breathing during labor and delivery. Even now postpartum, I am taking the slow flow yoga class to ease my way back into getting in shape. I'm so glad I found this hidden gem of a studio, where (quite literally) everyone knows your name. Though the instructor there saw it and I sent the screenshot to the owner, he stated I could file a complaint as it's Groupon's fault for allowing me to purchase another one.. the FINE print does NOT say only 1 could be purchased! In fact, it has a large " Buy It Again" on the Groupon! Also, I don't believe they clean the floors at all in between classes, as I arrived when people were coming out and we could just straight in and set up. If you're a beginner to yoga, you'll definitely want to set up in the back where you can watch the more experienced people to know what to do. The instructor does do a good job talking through the poses, though doesn't necessarily demonstrate. Still great talking through what to do!

The yoga instructor was Karen, she was welcoming and told us to get some mats, blocks, and blankets. The class was what i expected from a Vinayasa class as it focuses on slow movement and deep stretching. At the end of the class during the Savasana , karen walked around and gave some lavender oil as its calming and help to slow down and relax during the meditation period. This week is our first week back and I didn't know how much I missed it until we began seeing all the familiar faces and warm embraces. Master Dodd and Master B know us by name and were quick to resume putting my daughter back in a position of leadership. Also the events are amazing from parents night out to Halloween parades and trunk or treat. We did three summer camps this summer and out of all of them we discussed how the children were more well behaved and the negative influence was not there compared to the other camps. I went to this establishment essentially to check out the studio as a potential birthday party venue for my sister in law. My sister in law lives quite a distance from the studio while I live much closer so she asked that I go for her and take pictures. When she contacted the establishment, she received an email stating "we are available to show the place between 5:45 pm and 9 pm on Mondays through Thursdays." On Saturdays, 8:00 am -12 noon, I went on a Tuesday around 7pm. Let me preface this by saying that prior to going, I called both numbers listed around 5pm after leaving work. But they never answered any of the phones. They all went to voice mail. I left 2 messages. No one called me back. I went ahead and proceeded to visit the venue around 7pm. Btw, I had to go with my 1 year old. Also, please note that all these time periods fall into the time that they claim to be "available". When I got there, the signage was very bad. The entrance to the studio is located in the back in a very poor lit area between two buildings. It's a weird entrance. Anyways, I went in and up the stairs and entered right into the studio where a class was going on. There was no reception area. There was no one to receive me. I stood and waited in the dark for 10 mins. Then stepped to the stairway to call one of the numbers again. No answer. Left another msg. I went back in and one of the class attendees left her mat and came to me and directed me to some side benches. I waited and waited for about 10 more minutes. Just about when I had had enough, the wife (nikki) came in with her husband carrying groceries. Not saying hello or anything, she looked at me like what the hell are you doing here? I asked r u Nikki? I began explaining why I was there. She had an air of arrogance and bad attitude. She proceeded to walk me over to another room which I guess is their kitchenette area. We had to walk throw the class that was still going on. There she proceeded to tell me that my sister in law didn't email her to tell her i would be coming. She said she doesn't know what I want her to say. She can't give me a tour because the class doesn't end for another 15 mins. I wasn't going to wait another 15 mins. I had already decided this business relationship was not happening. She said the email she sent to my sister in law was a boilerplate email she sends to everyone. Hello???!!! She says she gets people expressing interest but no follow through. But I said why say you are available during those hours when you are not really. Your boilerplate email should further say. Please respond via email so we can schedule a time since we are not really available during the hours we listed. We also don't answer our phones. She proceeded to tell me her and her husband have day jobs and don't check their msgs often. Hello???!!! Throughout this conversation, her and her husband were unpacking their groceries. It looked like they were going have some refreshments for folks. Anyway, there was no apology offered by neither husband or wife (nikki). Needless to say, I gave up on trying to explain how absurd she was being and proceeded to leave. She told her husband who has barely said 5 words at this point to walk me out. No goodbye. Nothing!! We walked again through the class going on. They are both so unprofessional, so rude and so arrogant.

It was very new-agey and some people like that, but we wanted to focus more of the fitness aspect and the coaches seemed largely unconcerned with correcting form, mixing up the flows, etc. Seems like they just use it as a platform to pretend to be all-knowing, not for me. We emailed and asked if we could cancel and they said yes. I'd not signed anything that said I was locked in for a year. They did the usual sorry to see you go/is there anything we can do, but ultimately they ended up canceling my membership. I stopped going. The next month they charged me. So I went in and asked about it, and the woman told me it was a mistake, she was super apologetic and said they're refund me that money and make sure it's cancelled. It's been SIX MONTHS and they are still charging me. I've called and emailed multiple times, I've had my credit card company refute all the charges, and they're still doing it. The last time I caller them the person who answered hung up on me when I gave my name. I urge you not to sign up here unless you want a Don't Worry Darling situation where you end up staying there for life. A horrible business. Horrible customer service. For a product that's over-priced, and not even good at what it claims to be. Wish I could give a 0.
