I had a lumbar spinal fusion in 2021. Now, I have spinal arthritis and lumbosacral radiculopathy…read morewhich is very painful. This on top of sustaining 6 concussions since 2023 has only added to the problem. I now have neurological issues that affect walking, balance, and I tend to fall forward easily hence the need for a rollator walker. The neurologist assigned physical therapy to help manage the balance/walking problems, pain, tingling and overall weakness in my lower back, legs and feet. Starting in May of 2025, I attended 2 to 3 days a week at this facility and enjoyed my sessions with the various trainers mainly Mark. All was going well until late June when I fell at the facility. My neurologist said I sustained yet another concussion. I also hurt my left arm and couldn't use it for a several weeks not to mention the nasty scar that I now have. Am I blaming the facility - somewhat. I do think they need specialized ceiling-mounted harness systems (overhead track and harness systems) to treat patients like me who have a history of severe falls and risks. These systems consist of a harness worn by the patient connected to a trolley on a track mounted to the ceiling, providing 100% fall protection and allowing for rehabilitation exercises without the fear or possibility of injury. This physical therapist instead tied a strap around my waist and held on to it when I walked. With my neurological and spinal condition, this clearly was not enough. The day I fell, I didn't have a strap around my waist. My therapist thought I was walking okay, so he and I walked to the front desk at the conclusion of my session. I lost my balance and fell in front of the desk. It was a horrible accident. It took me 6 months to write the review because the memory is not a good one for me. Needless to say, I have not been back. Do I recommend Athletico Physical Therapy. For a serious condition like mine, no. However, for basic physical therapy, yes.
