For me, being confined to limited kitchen and bathroom space in a rental property, a visit to Brett's ignites my imagination and fuels the desire to design my dream home. The place is huge and is filled with everything, including surplus kitchen sinks. There are kitchen gadgets, ovens, large fridges, microwaves, designer coffee machines, baths which come in all shapes and sizes (hello, square bath), an abundance of shower heads (which make you believe that you do in fact need more than one in your shower), toilets, the largest collection of bathroom taps I've ever seen, and of course, the all-essential fire pit. On weekends, the display kitchen comes to life with live cooking shows and domestic-barista training sessions. There is also an adjoining structural timber warehouse, ideal for constructing your dream home, but I was mesmerised by the interior, domestic gadgets so I'll leave that for you to check out for yourself.

As well as buying and selling antiques, they restore them so if you have an old gem lying around that needs a scrub up and a coat of varnish, these guys can help you out. I love walking past the Antique Polishers because there's always so many things to look at. There's a lot of genuine antique furniture like chairs, tables, and shelves, but there's also cute little lamps, trikes, kids chairs etc. They get new stuff pretty often, and things get snapped up fast so if you find something you must have, buy it straight away. I missed out on a vintage Coca-Cola crate because I decided to think about it for a day or two.I've never had anything restored here, but if the day comes when I need anything polished up I'd bring it here.

Bedside table arrived with scratch mark and awful joinery in the drawers, with over 10mm of gap between front and sides.
