I'm a photographer and it's the only place I trust with my prints. Colors are accurate, and the quality of the image is as good as any print house. I have used when living in New York City, Paris, or Los Angeles. They aren't super cheap, but their prices are fair for the quality of work that they do. You get what you pay for! They offer retouching services if there's any work that needs to be done or changed at the last second. I've never picked up a piece of unsatisfactory work from them. For the past couple years I have brought in about forty paintings to be digitally copied, sizes have ranged from 12 x 16, to 30 x 40, and 24x48 inches. I have had them make many canvas prints from those digital scans, and I have printed many on my own on art papers. I have never been disappointed in the results. Replicolor is my go-to for film developing and scanning. If you shoot 35mm I highly recommend getting medium resolution scans from here.

I wouldn't recommend Replicolor Photo Lab, for film development, scanning, or printing at least. The customer service was subpar. The employee seemed pained to answer any of my questions and was especially curt. Although, they did have cute dogs. The pricing is also far from competitive, as there are other local shops that offer the same services for a fraction of the price. I hate leaving bad reviews, but don't waste your time or money if you're looking for film development. read more

I dropped off my film three days ago, and the woman who checked me out said it'd be done Thursday morning. I call in to check the status because it was creeping into the afternoon and the gentleman who answered was SO RUDE! Told me no one would've ever told me it'd be sent back to me in the morning, they ONLY do end of day. I told him this is just what I was told but he insisted no one would've ever said that and that they never do that. Terrible customer service, and honestly super dated return times. Replicolor rules. I had some photos I wanted printed, slightly larger than standard. Not quite poster sized, but close. Place #1- Sorry, we can't print anything that big. Place #2- Sorry, we can't print anything that small. Place #3- Yes, we can print those in the sizes you need, but we're a 'commercial' print house, so we have a minimum of 250 copies each. How many do you want? "One each." Oh, sorry, we can't do that. I give the digital files to Replicolor. They say, "These look fine. What size would you like? How many copies of each? What kind of paper would you like them printed on?" And voila. Less than a week later I have all my prints- the big ones, the small ones, all of them, ready for framing. Not super cheap, not super expensive. I've learned my lesson. Not going anywhere else in the future. read more

After using the printing services offered at Replicolor for the past several months I decided to write this review. They print with a lot of care to make sure the quality of color and prints are of great standard. They also provide a wide verity of mediums for art printing which is nice. I normally order using the desktop app they provide and the app has a few minor issues that makes issues for the first time user. I had to use it 3 times to understand the issues and now I am more comfortable. This is the reason I did not give five stars in my review. read more

Called for a quote and the woman who answered was very short w me, did not seem to want my business. I think because I was asking for the best price on a select item. What she didn't know is I was planning on buying that one item about 100 times. So I was actually going to give them a lot of business but she was so rude and demeaning, I decided to go elsewhere with my money. read more

I was printing wedding photos, and was really worried about the colors in the photo. Replicolor went out of their way to make sure everything looked great, and didn't charge anything extra. I am so pleased with the result. I can't recommend them enough! read more

I came in about 10ish AM last Friday, and the nice woman (perhaps owner?) told me she could have it done by 3pm (it was done by 1:30). I know it isn't rocket science to develop film, but so far so good. I didn't give them 5 stars yet since it is only 1 roll of film - but i will revisit this once i drop more film off, which i have no qualms about doing in the near future read more

They offer pretty quick turn around, a wide array of services, and prices that I've found to be very competitive. The quality and selection of frames they offer is decent, and their markup is pretty slim (i've worked in framing and have a pretty good idea of what the moldings cost). I think their paper/print quality is very high, as is their framing quality. I used this shop originally about 1 year ago for some personal work, and have used them twice since for the office building I manage. They won't give you a bad product. I've provided bad quality images before, and they've helped me to fix them, or let me know they needed to be replaced, and never charged me for the cost of printing something they didn't think was good quality. The main reason I'm marking this as two stars was the poor customer service I received. A friend recommended this place to me so I tried it out and was very dissatisfied. When I dropped my roll of film off the be developed I was given the option of low, medium, or high resolution scans. I asked about the resolutions and was told that the medium scan was about equivalent to a 12 megapixel file. Although this was quite disappointing I just couldn't justify spending over $100 for to have the high res scans. Processing went pretty quick but when I downloaded my scans I was confused to see they were all about 2 megabytes. Now I realize that when compressing a jpeg image is compressed to reduce the size but this seemed too small. When I opened the file and increased it to actual size it wasn't much larger than my monitor which is 1080p. This was not a 12 megapixel file. I was also told that each gram would be scanned in individually and check one by one but one of my best shots on the roll had a huge water spot on it. The receipt I received also showed that I was charged and payed for 18meg scans. When I called about this I was given a changing story about how that just refers to the file before it is exported from Photoshop and how the medium scans are really only about 6 megapixels and how the files are compressed when exported as a jpeg. Long story short I will never be returning to Replicolor for my film developing or scanning needs. read more

Relatively quick service for processing both 35mm and 120 film. They've always done a great job!!

I will not go to this store again. As a customer I was treated very bedly and I will give you here a brief description of my experience. Essentially, I m not questioning the quality of the work, which was OK. I question: 1) Quality/price ratio (too low). 2) Quality of service In particular, I have never been attended so unplesantly in a store of any kind in the US. After leaving two frames to fix, I was given a quote of about $15. When picking this up, it shows $26 as a total. I commented that it would have been nice to receive a phone call to approve this change. The answer was "I need to do a profit!". I consider this not acceptable in terms of customer service. There are certainly better reprint/framing shops in Salt Lake City! read more

Replicolor does a fantastic job. I recently ordered some digital prints for a gallery display at Kimball Art center. I was pleased by the quality and sharpness of the prints. The prices are great too. The staff were friendly and offer excellent customer service to get you exactly what you want. They have a nice selection of frames in the store. They lost a customer today. i am a professional in the world of cinema and still photography with over 15 years experience in post production. I've used these guys several times for medium format processing and printing since I moved to SLC from LA. Their processing is good, quality is consistent and turn around is quick. They are far better than Atelier AFA who messed up my negative on two ocassions. My problem with Replicolor and the reason I won't be going back is their customer service and their printing. The first time I had something printed there the size was wrong. I sent that same file to a lab in LA to make sure that there was no problem on my end, and they confirmed that it should have printed to the correct size. Today, when I went to discuss this issue with Replicolor, in the context of a second print job, I ended up just walking out. They did not listen to my concern nor did they directly address the issue I was raising. The more they talked the more I realized that they didn't understand the basics of file output from Lightroom and, in addition, they though I was a clueless noob. They kept skirting the issue and they actually blamed Lightroom. Even if I was a clueless noob they still should have taken the time to really listen, understand and address the issue I was raising. I have worked with some of the best photo labs in the US and some really bad ones too. The difference is dramatic: The best labs are eager to establish working relationships with photographers, they communicate well and strive to get the results the photographer wants, including ironing out any bumps in the work flow. The crappy labs don't communicate well, don't care that much about what the photographer wants, are condescending, and are really hard to get good results from. In these ways Replicolor is a bad lab. in summary, I find no fault at all in their film processing, but their customer service, technical knowledge and printing results are sub-standard for the printing needs of professionals or serious amateurs. read more

Rushed an order for me (was done in less than 45 mins) and stayed open late to accommodate my request. Sweet folks and a great end-product. Will definitely return! Only problem I had was, since I do not know much about photography, the online form was confusing to me. I would recommend adding in examples or more descriptions to the type of overlaminates, what adding a border means (will it change the dimensions, etc.), etc. Cheers! read more

As it gets more and more challenging to get slide film developed I tried Replicolor after finding "free" meteors and magenta streaks on slides developed locally. I means waiting for the postal service to deliver my film and more waiting for the slides to come back but Replicolor does their part quickly and with very good results. I have never found any flaws in their processing of my film. They seem to be as good as Kodak ever was--before they stopped developing their own film. I lost an average of one roll per year with Kodak but have yet to loose a roll of slides in several years dealing with Replicolor. I think you will be very satisfied if you send your slide film to Replicolor to be developed and mounted. read more

I've known about Replicolor for years, but didn't try them out until another Utah photographer, Rick Pieros, told me about how good his experience has been with them. I'm so glad I listened to him! Scott (owner) is a perfectionist, which is something we all want and is often lacking. If anything is off with a print/mounting due to their mistake, they'll redo it until it's perfect. Super happy that I am now using Replicolor as my main printer. Occasionally a deadline will be pushed back a bit, but that's usually attributable to some event that's happening, like an art festival. And they're pretty good about communicating any delays. Overall, a top notch printer. read more

I just got some photos printed here for the first time last week. All though the overall quality was really good, I was pretty disappointed when I picked up a 16x20 print that had white bars across the top and bottom because it wasn't cropped to fit the frame. I ordered from my computer and I wish there would have been some kind of notification to tell me it wasn't going to fit so I could crop and adjust the picture before sending it to be printed. That was the print I was most excited to hang up and now I'm kind of disappointed when I look at it. I will probably get it reprinted in the future. The rest of my photos were great though. I usually would get them printed at Costco and by comparing the two, Replicolor has a better product for not much more than you would pay elsewhere. I would use them again, just make sure when printing larger photos to resize so you don't get the white lines Update: they reprinted my photo free of charge and told me how to get it the way I wanted. Super nice people. Both times I went in they are very friendly. I'm so excited to get the fixed print hung up and I will definitely use them for my future printing needs. read more
