We graduated from RFC! Had a very tearful day
    Famela P.

IVF is a very difficult journey but with the right team you will feel supported throughout the process. That's how I felt with RFC clinic; everyone was caring and ensured I had a positive experience. The clinic is very clean; as soon as you walk in, it feels like a spa. Very subtle colors and calming music. They offered free water and coffee while you are there. This facility is on the 9th floor inside of hoag hospital. Very easy to park and easy to navigate to the clinic. I worked with Dr. Lin and Paula Hagen and they were a very strong team. I would recommend this clinic to everyone. Just be patient and make sure you understand your commitment. I am blessed to have a successful story.

Hubby, myself & Dr. Lin on graduation day!
    Carissa L.

Dr Lin and his team have been the best thing that has happened for me and my husband. We have struggled with fertility issues for years now (on my end). After about 2 years of not having a menstrual cycle and trying (as much as we could), I was fed up with bouncing around to different OBs, specialists, endocrinologists, etc. and finally called Dr. Lin! We had a call in November 2020 where he so understandingly, told me I just don't seem to ovulate and had what is called "unexplained infertility", then he proceeded to tell me "whenever you are ready to get pregnant, We will get your pregnant". January 2021 we started our fertility journey. After 2 failed attempts at timed intercourse, with trial and errors of meds, Dr. Lin was very confident in telling me IVF was our best option, which I was so nervous about. May 2021 we started our IVF cycle. After 1 cancelled cycle, and 1 transfer that didn't take, we were finally able to say those magical words, "We are PREGNANT!" Dr. Lin and his staff were over the moon excited for us, and Paula (my nurse) called me so excited to tell me the news and proceeded to tell me how happy the whole office was! I truly feel like RFC Irvine is a family that welcomed us right in! They were so flexible with getting me in for ultrasounds & making sure baby was developing and growing like baby should and always with open arms & smiles on their faces! We are officially graduated from RFC now and it was very bitter sweet to leave! If I could I would have continued my pregnancy appointments all the way to birth with them. :) Thank you so much to Dr. Lin, Paula, Rachel, Tara, Peyton, Merebel (acupuncturist), Iris (acupuncturist) and the rest of the family for all your hard work and all your love & support through this journey! If we need to go this journey for baby #2 in the future, we will 100% be back here with our team again!

    Renee R.

I remember reading Yelp reviews about RFC when we first were scheduling our initial appointment with Dr. Lin back in March of 2021. I was so nervous and unsure of what to do and what our next step should be for our pregnancy journey. We had already been TTC for well over a year and we're beyond frustrated and discouraged. I read reassuring things about successes at RFC and it built up our confidence that we were making the right decision. From the first time we met with Dr. Lin everyone on the staff in the Irvine office including him were kind and encouraging. We started with an IUI. We got pregnant on our first one but the level was very low so it didn't last. We started doing more tests to see what direction to go in. We did procedures and tried different things to see what worked and what didn't. We did two more IUIs, both were unsuccessful. Because of timing with my insurance we decided to do one more IUI before doing IVF. That one was successful but didn't sustain again. So frustrating, discouraging and heartbreaking!! Dr Lin and the staff continued to be hopeful for us though and kind, moving to the next thing to try. In January 2022. We did our egg retrieval. That was successful and we were encouraged moving along with the IVF process. We did our first transfer in March 2022 and it was unsuccessful. Ugh disappointed and beaten down again :( Paula was beyond caring though and listened to me cry and voice concerns, fears and worries. She advised trying acupuncture through their office since we hadn't done that yet. I had done acupuncture in the past but not through their office. In the book "it starts with an egg" (which I recommend reading for advice and guidance during your fertility journey) they say acupuncture is really only successful if you do it at the same location as your fertility procedures. So decided to try that. Meredith is the sweetest. I felt like she become such a stable and positive coach for me during the IVF process. Seeing her weekly for months and months, I was continually encouraged and looked forward to the appointments. We scheduled to do another transfer in September. I followed the guidance from Paula and Meredith's recommendations on what to eat and do and on the day of my transfer had acupuncture before and after (with both Iris and Meredith because of scheduling). I really think that made all the difference in the transfer being successful. There were different things I did to prep my body leading up to it and finally after many different treatments and so much time, we were finally pregnant!! The joy that Paula, Meredith and everyone else in the office radiated for my husband and I was incredible. We felt so supported and cared for. I continued to go to acupuncture for the majority of my pregnancy and looked forward to the appointments and stopping in to see everyone. Our baby girl was born in May 2023 and we could not be happier to have this beautiful baby and gift that RFC helped us achieve. Would absolutely recommend Dr Lin, RFC and doing acupuncture there. Good luck on your journey, rooting for you from afar!!!

Our amazing team!! Thank you! This is our graduation day!

Most of my ultrasounds were with Dr. Lin and he always takes the time to address concerns and explain next steps. On occasion I've also seen Dr. Kaing and the ultrasound tech AJ for my scans and they were both very kind as well. Tracy at the front desk took the time to sit down with me and explain my insurance coverage and any out of pocket costs to expect, which I really appreciated. Insurance companies can be unpleasant at times and things can get messy but I do believe that the team at FCOC are doing their best with the billing. At each of my visits and procedures the nursing staff was always very helpful, while I can't remember everyone's name I really appreciated Anni and Lilly's care. Dr. Schneider the anesthesiologist was also very pleasant and comforting. Going to sleep for a procedure can be scary but I felt like I was in good hands. Over the course of the last 9 months whether it's delivering good or bad news Dr. Lin is realistic yet always optimistic; he offers options and respects our decisions, never pushing us to go a certain way. For some, IVF can become a longer than expected journey, I don't wish this upon anyone but should this be the case Dr. Lin will meet you with open arms. I called the clinic to follow up on my $350 reimbursement. The staff member who answered initially told me the insurance claim was still pending, which conflicted with the information from my insurance. After I explained what I saw on my account, she said she would check with the billing department and call me back the next day--but I did not feel confident in the communication or transparency of the process. While the facility itself looks clean and professional, my first impression was not positive. I came in simply hoping to learn more about IUI/IVF options before moving forward, but the experience left me feeling uncomfortable during the consultation because it seemed like the doctor was more focused on promoting IVF rather than fully discussing my situation and options. I later consulted with two other fertility doctors, both of whom said I likely would have had a better outcome if the retrieval had been done on day 12 rather than day 15, as my follicles appeared to have atrophied. But this review is about my entire experience with egg freezing here -- and the frustrations have buried the highlights. I genuinely wanted to love this place. I just can't. Start with billing, which has been a nightmare. I need my invoices for medical reimbursement -- that's money I'm owed back -- and despite staff promising to "expedite things," it took 2.5 to 3 months to get them, lack of email responses, calls with no number to call back, extensions that only goes to empty voicemails, after they'd sat marked "pending" for nearly two months. And when I finally reviewed the charges, the refund amounts had been added up wrong. So now I'm double-checking their math too. To fix it, I had to chase a separate department on East Coast time, which became an endless game of phone tag. Their billing is somehow both impossible to reach and disorganized once you do. I came on a referral specifically for Dr. Dilday, and everything was fine -- until the morning of my procedure, when I was casually told she wouldn't be performing it. Instead it'd be whoever was on rotation. How is the day-of an acceptable time to learn that the entire reason I chose this clinic isn't the person operating on me? A heads-up days in advance is not a big ask. Dr. Dilday did visit me, which was genuinely sweet -- but one kind gesture can't paper over how poorly this was communicated. Then the anesthesia, which still upsets me. I told the anesthesia team and every doctor that I come out of anesthesia rough -- clearly and repeatedly. Nobody believed me. The anesthesiologist brushed me off, saying that in all his years he'd never had a problem, and any issues before were because I hadn't had him. Well -- I had an adverse reaction. I woke up in traumatic, screaming pain, a 20 out of 10, exactly what I'd warned about. I wish he'd taken me seriously as he weaned me off the medication after the OR. My recovery was far worse than the two similar procedures I've had before -- genuinely concerning -- and I'm left wondering if it was the technique, the anesthesia, or both. When a patient tells you exactly what will happen to their body and you ignore them, this is what you get. Now the pharmacy. CCRM uses an outside pharmacy, and that was its own disaster. The driver "missed the delivery window," and then management couldn't even locate their own driver for hours. When they finally found him, he had to meet me at a dinner venue -- where I walked out in front of all my friends to grab a giant cooling box for medication I did not want to explain to anyone. I was over an hour and a half late to my event, then had to inconvenience someone to store the meds in their fridge, which meant sharing a deeply personal situation I'd have preferred to keep private. I basically lost a whole day on the phone juggling team members over a pickup that should have been a simple delivery. And all that chaos traced back to one decision: the clinic sent only a single day's loaned dose. So of course I then had to call the on-call doctor after hours to report I didn't have what I needed for day two. I still don't understand why they couldn't just loan two days' worth so nobody has to scramble. It got worse. Right before my trigger injection -- the most time-sensitive, do-not-mess-this-up part of the whole process -- the on-call doctor clearly hadn't read the notes from the physician before him. He instructed me to start a medication I was never given and that was never ordered. I was at work, and he sent me into a full panic attack, because I couldn't drop everything to figure out what I supposedly had, literally the second-to-last day before my trigger. The lack of professionalism, the broken handoffs, the total breakdown in communication between departments, physicians, and billing -- it has genuinely let me down. And it's worse because this could be such a great place. The talent is here, the reputation is real, and I drove two hours each way because of it. I could have stayed local, but I took the referral and did my research -- only to find out how much exhausting, unnecessary work this would be. Roughly four months later, I'm still chasing invoices that don't add up or aren't complete enough to even submit. Fertility patients are already carrying enough emotionally, physically, and financially. It should not be this exhausting. The anxiety, the frustration, the helplessness, and the feeling of not being heard at times really don't make this experience with CCRM. I wish it wasn't so, and I am so sorry for leaving this review, but i really don't wish this upon anyone who is coming hoping for a good result.

From the very first appointment, he was kind, patient, and always took the time to answer my questions and address my concerns. He made me feel heard, respected, and confident every step of the way. During labor and delivery, Dr. Mahller remained calm, supportive, and incredibly skilled. His professionalism and reassuring presence made what could have been a very stressful experience feel much more manageable. I truly felt that both my baby and I were in the best possible hands. Bonus, he is also super funny! The nurses and staff at the hospital loved him! Once they knew he was my doctor they're were so glad! Thank you doctor

I have been a patient here seeing the wonderful Nurse practitioner Tabitha for almost 2 years now…read more I absolutely adore her and this office. She is compassionate, efficient, knowledgeable, and joy to visit, which I say a lot when you consider that no one likes going to the OB/GYN. I like how good she is with explanations and I never feel rushed. She can also do other procedures, such as laser rejuvenation. I love how good attack the office is as well - they are on top of things, they have a portal, they do telehealth and there's no issues that I've had with that either. They are located conveniently to the other medical buildings in Newport. If I have to go to the OB/GYN, might as well get some beach time or yummy food lol.

After reaching out, my initial appointment was abruptly canceled about a week in advance. I later discovered that what I believed to be a local office was actually a call center. At no point did anyone explain how their scheduling works, that offices operate independently, or that doctors are independent providers. I was eventually rescheduled at the Laguna Hills location. When I arrived, the receptionist was unfriendly and immediately informed me of a $99 consultation fee. I had no issue paying this fee, had it been disclosed beforehand--which it was not. When I raised this concern, I was told that the doctor I paid the consultation fee for would be the only doctor who could treat me if I moved forward. If our personalities or approach did not align, I would be required to pay an additional consultation fee to see another doctor. That is an unacceptable business practice. To make matters worse, I was told that the person responsible for explaining financing and costs would not be available for another day or two, meaning I could not even receive a proper quote during my visit. I intentionally carved time out of my busy schedule for what is a very emotional and important decision in my life, only to leave feeling frustrated, disappointed, and misled. I will not be returning to this facility or any of its affiliates, and I would strongly caution others to be very clear about fees, scheduling, and expectations before booking an appointment.

Traditional docs had told me there was nothing to do anymore. From the first visit, she listened to everything I had to say and examined me, then we immediately began treatment. She estimated 2-3 months minimum of treatment before Id be better, and she's consistently checked in on progress and made modifications as needed. I felt better in a week, and could see/feel even more results within the first month. 4 months later and I am baffled at the results. My quality of life has *massively* improved and its all thanks to her. She has a wonderful, kind bedside manner that makes you feel at ease, heard, and taken care of. The office staff are always helpful, kind, and wonderful to chat with too!!! If you're on the fence, please go see her!! :]

Since starting acupuncture in January 2026 I have not had a migraine since. I've had some mild headaches here and there (days I forgot to drink enough water, or ate garbage), but not my dreaded 3-4 day stuck in bed with all the lights off migraine terror. It's really been amazing. I'm now working with Dr. Zhao on all the other issues I've ignored for so long. The weird tennis elbow/carpal tunnel pain, insomnia, the random chronic things that I just learned to live in pain with. For new patients, you will go into a consultation and then almost seamlessly transition right in to treatment. So a consultation lasts like maybe 10-15 minutes and then the acupuncture (depending on what you have going on) may take 45 minutes. If you just want the consultation, no treatment, you will need to be very clear about this. Dr. Zhao is ready to work, so if you do NOT want treatment you'll need to speak up. My insurance unfortunately does not cover acupuncture ( I have an HSA) so I pay about $185 for cupping and acupuncture per session. I know with other insurance it would be about $15 co-pay. I recommend Dr. Zhao to everyone.
