Have not picked up my recycling for two weeks now. I'm not sure how to resolve this. Have called multiple times.

I have two pieces of metal tubing about the size of bicycle handle bars that I want to dispose of. Republic Services tells me I need to take metal to the transfer station and I should call them to find out where to drop it off. I have phoned them a total of eight times over two weekdays during their advertised "working hours" and no one has answered the phone. No voice mail. Nothing. I'm thinking the metal tubes can just stay in a box in our garage forever... read more

Terrible service from the compost driver that refuses to come down the one way street even though recycling and trash come to pick up. I have a full compost bin not being picked up unless it gets rolled down to the main road. Do your job!! Customer support promises next day pick up that never occurs and regional manager (aaiello@republicservices.com) got involved and gave me his work number, but nothing came about it. He did not answer my emails, calls, and texts. Maybe a Yelp review will actually do something. Maybe a visit to City Hall to speak about their contract. I am not the only one upset ! read more

I needed to dump some trash on the weekend and thankfully these guys are open. Got charged a flat fee for dumping a broken washing machine along with some old trash. Wasn't like other dumps where you weighed in and out. All trash goes in the same pile except for anything made of metal, which I had to do to drop off the washer I wanted to dump. Overall it was easy and fast. Would come here again despite having to cross a bridge to do it. read more

We've been told by different customer support and sales, both via phone and chat on their website that our trash container will be replaced before our scheduled pick up for the past 2 weeks or place our trash by the curb and it sill be picked up. It has been 2 weeks now, still no Trash Container and Trash still haven't been picked up up. They even said that it was escalated with a reference/ticket number but still no result. STILL NO TRASH CONTAINER AND WITH A LOT OF TRASH. read more

Don't take your microwave here. It cost $43 to dispose of it. None of that is listed anywhere on the website. It cost 60 bucks to drop it off at Best Buy. I could've saved the money and gas in the long line with all the other trucks. read more

I am disappointed with the lack of transparency with the Contract Costa transfer center. I took a load in today and was charged a $100 extension fee. I can't find anything on what this extension fee is for and upon further research it looks like it's associated with delayed time in unloading. We took less than 20 minutes to unload and were charged this ridiculous fee. We were way under the allotted flat rate load weight for flat rate fee. Attempting to reach anyone at this location to attempt to get clarity on this was fruitless as there is never any answer on the phone number on the website or the recipient. Received service now for 30 years. Always on time. Never a miss! Good at notifying me of a change in the scheduled pickup.

I've been using this transfer station for almost 20 years. As expected the prices keep going up, but they're way more reasonable than the junk hauling companies that come to your house and take your stuff to the dump for you. The last time I used a company like 1-800-GOT-JUNK (different company, but same type of service) I was quoted $750 for a full truck load. This time I rented a large, enclosed U-Haul trailer for $35 and the fee at the CC Transfer Station for a full trailer, including a dishwasher, a full kitchen of cabinets, and about 20 bags of random garbage, was only $155. My only gripe about this place is that they cut down the number of lanes to check in from 2 to 1 about 7 or 8 years ago. A few times I've had to wait in line for an hour to get in. You never know how long it's going to take until you get there. Luckily today it only took about 15 minutes. read more

I am very disappointed in your service! For some reason or another, my large pick up and bill items and trash have not been removed from my PREVIOUS Address! I have been dealing with this for 2 weeks and NO ONE can seem to just have the drivers go get my stuff!! I have a case number and no one has called me back pertaining to my situation. Also my old landlord is charging me money everyday that the trash sits in front of his house! This is ridiculous at this point! This was my first time ever going to a dump, I had a whole lot of big stuff to trash from my house and I am so glad I found this location on Yelp. It is close to my house and right off the freeway making it easy to find and get too. When I arrived there was a line for the people who are dumping the trash, they allow about 5 vehicles at a time once one leaves they let the other go in. It's a pretty good process so trash and people don't get cluttered up. The first thing I noticed is how clean it was for a dump and how it didn't smell at all. I use to be able to smell the dumps in Milpitas from the freeways and this one you couldn't smell any trash being close to the location. They clean the trash 24/7 so while you are dumping a truck is clearing everything up once people leave. They do take mattresses and box springs it's just a little more pricey. But the average for a trip with a full loaded truck is only $35 which to me is a deal. I was getting quotes to have my trash picked up and companies were trying to charge me $400. I saved at least $300 just going to the dump myself. read more

Wow..these folks are vulchers. There was literally a cowboy watching our truck the whole time to see the garbage and reporting to the office with his phone...WTF??.. We try to do the right thing, but now I'm totally sympathetic with folks that dump on the street. read more

When I was little I loooooooved going t the dump. If I knew my grandpa was going to take stuff you could not stop me from jumping in the truck to tag along. Im 35 years old and I still like going to the dump. I love seeing all the things that no one wants anymore. Ive utilized this location many times. Its in a great location not to far from my house and the prices are really reasonable. When you come in they weigh your truck or trailer and that's how they price things out. Some other items like appliances and mattresses are more expensive. There are different areas for different materials. We've dumped landscaping materials, wood, and of course the usual garbage items. One of my personal favorites is the giant Christmas Tree pile that shows up after the holidays. I know, I'm a weirdo. The big giant room with the piles of household stuff is my personal favorite. Yes, it stinks. But I don't care. I'm obsessed with looking at all the stuff dumped that was once in peoples homes. Its like a messed up jigsaw puzzle. When I have the opportunity to bring my kids along, I always do. I have to share in the experience with them. read more

Consistently running late and they dump as much trash onto the street as they do into the truck. Don't know if it's a human performance issue or just giving the drivers quality equipment but as a customer it's annoying to see my private mail on the road down the street due to poor quality services. This worthless company was supposed to pick up my garbage cans on Wednesday called to tell me they were going to pick it up Thursday and then never picked up my green waste. I spoke to customer service on three occasions and they told me to leave my cat out that they would be here on Monday they never came Monday. Spoke to a manager on Tuesday said she had connections and would get it picked up today. Guess what they never picked it up again. What a worthless company. read more

Recently remodeled out home and had 2 vans full of flooring/garage old stuff to get rid of. We came to the transfer station and was in and out pretty quickly. We drove up, paid the amount they told us (based on size etc) and it was very reasonable like $34 or so each time we came back with a full van. After we paid, we drove to the right where there's a big open area by dump trucks, we backed up our van and then pulled all our items out to the ground. In and out in about 10 mins. I can't give a dump a 5 star review, that in itself seems counter-intuitive. That and I didn't physically go to the dump. But instead sent my boyfriend in his truck to get rid of all the extra crap we had left over from our recent bathroom remodel (which by the way I know of a great person out of San Jose that does an awesome job on such things, so feel free to message me if you want more info). Did you know if you're a Contra Costa resident you get one free trip a month? Yup. Just bring along a copy of your last garbage bill and you're good to go! read more

$38 later and I'm the hero of the boyfriend's boss, no easy feat. He said this was the best price he's seen in all his years for a 2500HD full of de-construction. I may have gotten the rumored "County Resident Discount" but he didn't ask for ID, garbage bill, or anything else. Just asked what town I lived in. CCT&R is open Sundays... No complaints. You drive up, pay, literally dump your trash on the floor and leave! Friendly staff. They make it very straight forward and easy to unload. It's a bit steep to pay over $100 to dump 2.5 yards of 100% yard waste. The guy at the scale had us back into the shed. Crazy when there was a pile of green waste where we could have safely unloaded. At the other pile, they were chopping up the yard waste and probably selling it, so why charge so much? So much for sustainability.. Rip off. read more

Been coming here recently and noticed that. The cashier is taxing everyone that's coming in. The fat Mexican cashier is charging extra every time I come. Other people charges 40$ each time but only he charges 100$. Not sure if he pockets the difference, but for sure somethings wrong. read more

Don't come here unless you wanna go back and dump all your shit ad pick it back up!!! Well California sucks anyways it is worse overall but this dumpster place is the worst of the worst, I dumped one load of shingles and on the second load I had some pressure treated lumber I didn't know they won't accept. it was already 4:30pm and had to drop off my rental dumpster that night, so long story short they guy said I can't let you in with those pressure treated wood I said that's fine I'll pick it up once I dump the shingles he said no I can't let you in, I said ok I'll load it in the back of my personal truck and he said no I can't let you do that either, I said okay then I'll leave outside and if you don't trust me and you think I won't pick it back up, I'll leave my drivers license or my truck registration or whatever you think is acceptable and once I pick them back up you can check my truck and see if those pressure treated woods are in the back of my dumpster and he still said no. I asked him there's gotta be a way to help me out because I have to drop the trailer off and it's rental and if you're not gonna hell me out and leave me no options I'll have to take it back dump all the shingles and take the dumpster trailer back to rental place and it's gonna be a pain in the butt to pick them all back and load in another dumpster. they guy was just being an asshole and a dick and he kept saying I can't help you my boss has not given us permission to do all these things you're asking me, I said let me talk to your boss or your supervisor maybe they could help me and his response the while time was I'm sorry, I can't I'm sorry I can't. Went to the transfer station on Waterbird Way on 1/18. Greeted by the cashier who was in a horrible mood. He started yelling at us from the start. Tried to charge us $99.50 for a refrigerator and assumed I was also dropping off four bags of cans. I tried to tell him the bags of cans weren't garbage and that they were staying with me. He suddenly dropped the price to $63.50. I tried to tell him we called earlier and were quoted $40.00 for the refrigerator. He repeatedly yelled $63.50!! I've been trying to call their main number for four days and no one ever answers, with no option to leave a message. This outfit sucks and it's obvious they don't care. read more
