It seems like there is no place that redeem cans and bottles. People who want to get cash for their cans and bottles need a place. A Total Lifesaver. Recycling Zone in Pacheco has shut down! No way was I going to Concord Recycling Center (lines are very long). I was surprise I remember Sun's Recycling in Port Chicago (I didn't know this was still Concord) A family own business. I was very impress on the guy unloading my eight big trash bags of plastic bottles into one huge net bag. Very impressive on the guy hauling my plastic bottles. I manage to come to Sun' Recycling Center at a perfect time while there was no people. I manage to come and get out of there fast! Only suggestion is if you happen to have a U-Haul with a bunch of cans and bottles this wouldn't be a good idea to bring your redeem here (you might tick off others who want to redeem their cans and bottles). read more

It used to be a 4-5 star review, but... I've been coming here for years, and it was always great. Friendly guys, and quick service. The last 4 times I've visited, it's been self service, then the woman in the office helps you. She's been questioning me about my cans every time, and told me that the next time I was going to get scrap metal pricing, because the cans didn't have labels on them (the beer label stickers had been peeled off). She also questioned if I crushed them with a machine. What kind of machine? I mean, I crush them, like a normal person, with my feet, so I can fit 4 times as many in a bag, but whatever. Unfortunately for me, it's become a hassle, and awkward trip, so I will be finding somewhere else to recycle. read more

I've been coming here since I was 13 years old, everyone here is always super nice and ahead of the game. But what doesn't make any sense to me is how you expect the people of Concord to support you guys when you can't even update your schedule. The wall says Saturday 8 AM to 2 PM, I got here at 12:40... then I called and they said they're closed today, is this based off of laziness or because they feel that they don't need to update their schedule... you guys are better than this read more

I came here when they opened at 8:00 a.m. on a Friday morning it is now 8:15 a.m. & the gates are still locked and there's no sign of anybody anywhere I really don't appreciate my time being wasted for a quote on quote legitimate business that can't even get here to open their establishment on time. Nice recycling center in concord. Tucked away by the old army base and past the golf course off of port Chicago highway. For those not aware they want you to sort your recyclables before you get there. This was about my fifth time going here. My first time there the guy got Mad because I was sorting everything in there yard. Lol. Lesson learned because now I sort at home. That way it's a lot easier. Just pull up grab a couple of trash cans and pour out all of your recyclables. They also take printers and televisions but CHARGE by the weight. Overall this is a good recycling center. Better than ones in Pittsburgh and other locations in concord. Go here there are nice. read more

I called to see if they would accept steal recycle products she said yes. It was a big rack that we used at my work. The guy with the forklift was happy when he saw it. It was a heavy rack and we thought we'd get something for it but they didn't give us anything. I didn't want to argue so we just left. I did a really dumb thing about a week ago. I usually take my recycling to Galaxy in Concord and although the pricing isn't great but it's fair. I was doing a job close to Clyde so I decided to take recycling to Sun recycling in Clyde. I brought in nearly 600lbs of very clean scrap lead which included 2large car batteries with a combined weight of 96lbs.For the two batteries I was given $9.60.Everything combined I was payed $103.52. Clean srap lead usually goes for at least$1 lbs. That's a dime a lbs for the batteries They made a killing off me. The only difference between this place and the street thugs robbing people is ones uses a gun and one uses a scale and legally gets away with it.Dont let them take your hard earned recycling like I did . This is a tradition I keep in my family ever since my grandpa passed away. We used to have a recycling center that was a few streets away, but they no longer operate business. This place was the next closest thing. Overall, their service is rather nice and fast. They do ask you to remove caps on EVERYTHING. So if you are like me and forgot, it will take time to remove them all from the bottle. However, they do make everything else swift and easy. I just dump and separate all of what I bring into all of their plastic bins. And the prices are very fair for what you get. The staff is also kind and understanding as well. I know I normally post food reviews, but this place deserves one as well. I will come here for all my recycling needs. read more

I live around Hercules and I was struggling to find a recycling center where I could stop by to drop off years worth of collecting cans, plastic, & glass bottles. They stopped CRV service in rodeo and other places nearby, I'm glad this popped up on yelp. It may be a far distance from Hercules but it was worth it! They have 3-4 parking slots infront where you can unload your bags and pour it into these bins. Once finished, they'll take care of the rest and check the pounds per load. You will then get the total amount how much it cost. It may not be a known location but customer service was good I'd say. read more

Decent recycling center in the bay point/north concord area. Its located past a military base, road is a little choppy. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Make sure to sort your glass colors when depositing for crv, and that caps are off plastic bottles. Make sure to do sorting before arriving here. I've been coming to Sun's for I don't know how many years...17 years to my knowledge. i live in Bay Point which is right over the hill from this place literally so it's conveniently close for me which is a plus! I recently started coming back again due to them closing down the recycling trailer we had in our local grocery store parking lot. I don't mind, I've never been dealt with rudeness from any of the employees here, service is always fast & good. They are pretty thorough, so if that's a problem for you then go elsewhere. I mean they can't accept dirty cans with debris in it such as cigarette butts. no caps on bottles. all bottles need to be completely empty. No quirky crap like milk bottles of any kind, juice, or cooking oil. if it doesn't say CRV- its not accepted. Period. That simple. read more

This was a really good experience! There were other aluminum can recycling facilities that were closer to me but they were all poorly rated. I drove further out, to see if Sun's Recycling deserves a 5 star rating and they definitely earned it. Honest people and fair pricing. Gathering all the recyclables we have collected through the months is always a hassle, and YES, I am that person that dreads to take it to a recycle center to sell and deal with the mystery that awaits when I get there. Sun's Recycling Center had changed my perception, and really makes those "dreaded" recycling trips a breeze. With a professional staff, and supplies to expedite the separation process, Sun's Recycling Center is such a great place to sell your recyclables. It isn't hard to read the signs and figure out their process, in fact it wasn't difficult to simply ask a staff member "what do I need to do." One thing that I like are the people that come in to sell their recyclables... so far everyone I have encountered are good people too... A bit off the beaten path in Clyde. Yes, Clyde is an actual town. This was worth the drive. No lines, no waiting and competitive rates. After spending over an hour at one if the unfriendly centers in Concord, this was a real joy. The staff was friendly and efficient. I was done in minutes. To save time and headache, be sure to remove the caps from the plastic bottles and sort/seperate glass by color. They also recycle foam (like a matress topper) but not styrofoam as well as e-waste (computers, stereos, TVs)...though I am not sure that they buy those from you. read more

great place to go to do some e-waste recycling or take big items to get rid of. it was my first time dropping off e-waste and the process was pretty easy. i dropped off a big led tv and a bunch of cables. they don't take light bulbs or at least florescent ones. they just had me drop everything off in one area and then i had to show my license to a lady at the register and that was it. didn't have to pay or anything (i didn't know if you had to pay to dump stuff). read more

I reviewed Sun's website and they said that they accept e-waste. I took mine there and they informed me that they charge to take e-waste. With a second review I couldn't find any place that they indicate that they charge to take recycling. You should probably call them before taking anything there. read more

Reviews appear to be mixed for Sun's Recylcling Center. I only started going there several years ago, because my local recycling center closed. Over the years, I've noticed the employees becoming more and more rude and inconsiderate however, I've just taken it in stride, as they seem as if it's the last place on earth they want to be and would rather be elsewhere. The price they pay for plastic bottles/aluminum cans varies, based on the kind mood they are in ( usually grumpy) and they complain and whine if a few caps are left on several of the plastic bottles. Based on other individuals reviews, it appears as if the variation in price paid for plastic/aluminum my be the result of them needing to remove a few caps from a few plastic bottles, as they grumble about needing to do so. Well, as of today, this will be my last visit to Sun's Recycling Center as a result of the employees poor/rude service. As I arrived with my plastic bolltes/aluminum cans, I was the only one there without an employee in sight. As I looked around, the majority of the plastic garbage cans( in which you are to place your bottles/cans) had major damage with large gaping wholes/ rips, which were sewn together with wire. The ones I selected to place my bottles/ cans in were actually stacked in twos ( I assumed they did this,stacked the garbage cans, to help seal/ cover the large holes). As I finished up, another individual arrived with his recycle at approximately the same time as an employee appeared( middle aged lady). I was ready to have my bottle/cans weighed however, she just stood there watching/waiting for the other individual to finish sorting his bottles/cans. I politely said I'm ready, if she would like to help me. She rudely stated, the plastic garbage cans are stacked and she could'nt help me until I separated them(In other words, even though I was there first, she was going to wait for the other individual to finish sorting his cans/ bottles to help him first vs just asking me if I could separate the garbage cans for her, and then she could help me). Due to her rudeness, I stated they were stacked that way when I arrived and I'd assumed that it was done in order to prevent bottles/ cans falling through the large holes. I accommodated her request and separated the garbage cans, only to have her grumbling as she removed three caps from three plastic bottles, then dragged the garbage cans off in a haste, without even weighing them. Then, before I could get my I'D out of my wallet, she shouted two letter( no sentence) ID! As, I was providing my I'D and retrieving it along with my compensation for my bottles/ cans, I was doing some gumbling myself( under my breath) as I drove away. And, to add insult to injury, so to speak, when I got home, I realized she had shortchanged me $5.00 from what my receipt says I should have received. Some other reviews state their rudeness may be a culture thing however, I believe rudeness and/ or kindness is and individual thing , chosen by the individual. I've tried of the rudeness/ poor, complaining service......time to search elsewhere for my recycling needs. read more
