For 15 minutes and 6 ft worth of junk ? Best part... they won't take my American Express or credit cards ? Only Cash ???? I demanded a receipt... the young man had a hard time getting the iPad to send me a receipt. I refused to leave without a receipt. He seemed iterated and made some sarcastic comment about him doing me a "favor" at this price .... I do have my house that I was going to use as a second time, I have decided to look up reviews and find a better competitive rate that will take credit cards and will give receipts.

I suggested in the morning we tackle that first thing and that they take the doors off. Long story short- they save it until the end, do not take the doors off, do not take the bannister off the wall, damage my walls, the cabinet is stuck at the bottom of the stairs and they wanted to be paid (cash only! another thing they didn't tell me up front) with the promise someone else would come back and move the cabinet a couple hours later. Only by withholding payment did I get the cabinet removed (they had to take the bannister off and doors to accomplish). Other furniture of mine they moved had some damage. I gave them the opportunity to fix the wall damage or make arrangements with the new buyers to have fixed and I got ghosted and stuck giving up some of my security deposit to cover. I hired Chris and his team to remove asbestos wrap on boiler pipes in my basement. I should have known not to use him when he came to the estimate appointment 30+ minutes late smelling like a certain substance. The day the work was "complete" per Chris, I went to the home to look everything over. I sent Chris pictures of some concerning areas and he came over the next morning. We discussed possible remedies for those areas and as soon as we mentioned not providing final payment until we had our other contractor that is removing the pipes come out and see the areas around the ceiling where there was still visible asbestos that was not removed well, Chris immediately became hostile. He started to threaten us with a lien, said he'd see us in court and just became the most unprofessional, despicable human being I've had the misfortune of dealing with recently. I will reiterate here, at no point did we tell Chris we were not paying him, yet he started to threaten us immediately. I even explained to him when he was having this tantrum that we are not saying we are not paying, we are saying we will pay when this is done right. I don't know if it's because it was 2 women he was dealing with or if he treats all his customers like this. You would think a company run by a minority would also watch what they say yet he had the audacity to tell us in no simple words that "in America I can sue you" because I didn't want to pay him the remainder when he deemed the work done (he chose those words knowing full well my mother wears a hijab and therefore we must be uneducated and not know anything about the US law system). Apparently as the person requesting the service my input has no say to Chris and when he says the work is done, that's it, the work is done. After all of the threats, I gave in because this wasn't worth it. I told Chris I'd have someone else fix the areas he didn't and I'd pay the remainder without even deducting anything from it so I wouldn't have to deal with him ever again. All I asked for which I think would be standard practice, is that he provided final paperwork outlining what was done and the air test results. This man actually said no and that it's only provided after payment and that if I didn't pay he'd see me in court. He also tried to ask that we meet in public to do an "equal exchange" like this was a drug deal. Eventually I got the paperwork and as I said, I made the payment. It was just constant threats of "I'll see you in court, I'm gonna sue you, I'm gonna put a lien on your house". BEWARE if you want to use this company. Do yourself a favor and go with any of the other numerous companies in the area.

As a result, the movers said they could not complete the services I had booked and left a deposit for. This left me in an impossible situation, as I was closing on the sale of my house the very next day. I was forced to scramble at the last minute to find another moving company under extreme stress. A moving company should be reliable, professional, and transparent--especially when people's homes and major life events are involved. I am a senior citizen, and I was very specific about the fact that I was recovering from a recent surgery and was not able to lift med/large heavy boxes placed (stacked) on top of one another once transported to my new residence. I also spoke at length with Jim's brother, Stewart, regarding packing materials snd number of boxes needed to pack remaining belongings in my home. I was also told that there were specific packing materials that would be sent to carefully wrap expensive large rugs that needed to be sent out to be professionally cleaned once the move took place. Four young, courteous men arrived on rime for moving day, but unfortunately, underestimated the time/men needed to completely move me from my home to my new residence, so plans were made to continue the move to the following day. Movers overall, were careful with my furniture and belongings, but are not properly trained to consider properly labelling boxes, so that when a bed is dismantled, for example, and put back together again, the bed can be quickly remade! Zero considerations for personal care products, clothing, personal computer, medications (used everyday) to be set aside so they can be found easily once moved. I am still looking for my houseplants that are sitting out in my garage, despite cold weather, because the boxes they were packed in are poorly marked. The plants should have been brought into the house, not left in the garage! The carpets that Stewart stated would be carefully attended to and wrapped securely never happened, after spending over $3,000 for a local move twenty minutes away. Disappointed at best.
