I was near the checkout shopping when I overheard a male customer politely ask a cashier if certain items were on sale. Instead of a normal, polite response, the cashier, a middle-aged woman with black hair, snapped at him, aggressively stating they were clearly marked as not on sale. The customer was completely taken aback (so was I frankly) but he stayed entirely calm, simply mentioning that the aisle signage was a bit confusing. The cashier doubled down, yelling louder and more aggressively that it "wasn't her problem if he couldn't read the sign." It was so hostile I almost walked out right then. It got worse. Another man (unclear if it was a customer or someone else) came in from the parking lot, got directly in the male customer's face, and became incredibly aggressive, to the point where I genuinely thought the man from the parking lot was going to get physical with the customer. Instead of de-escalating, the cashier started yelling over them again. Through all of this, the customer remained completely composed, paid for his items, and prepared to leave. As he walked out, the cashier threw a loud, incredibly sarcastic "have a good day and come again" after him. The way this employee treated a calm customer asking a simple question was completely unacceptable. It made me so uncomfortable that I set my items down and walked out without buying anything. Everyone has bad days, but this went way beyond that it was disrespectful and disappointing. I will be hard pressed to return to the store if this is the way they treat their customers.

In March I returned to the store to sit in the model, I was again struck by how supportive it was to my back and tried to talk to the manager about how not only did the chair feel different but the fabric was puckering. He told me I needed to call customer care. It was almost a month before a technician came out. He told me the factory sometimes substitutes cushions of lesser quality. He would order me a new bottom cushion but there was nothing to be done about the soft back. A month later I wax contacted that the tech forgot to cut a swatch of fabric and it would be a few weeks before I could be scheduled. I called back and said I had a swatch of the fabric from the store would that work. I wax assured it would. So I drove the swatch to the warehouse. This morning, 6 weeks after I delivered the swatch, I get a call that a tech needs to come and cut a swatch. I explained what I had done, was assured it was fine. No, I am told this will not work and in a week a tech will come. I feel I have been duped by the store by not getting the quality of the floor model and a manager who does not care if he has a satisfied customer. This was not a cheap chair. I do not think anyone should purchase from this store.

I ordered a couch from Ashley Furniture and paid to have it delivered. NOT ONCE did they say they only go up to floor three in an apartment or if it doesn't fit in the elevator, they would return the furniture. A piece of the couch did not fit in the elevator, so the guys tried to take my entire couch back rather than using the stairwell. I called the Ashley Furniture store we bought the couch from and they offered to pay the driver extra money to take the longer piece up the stairs. The driver refused, and proceeded to say he won't take their taxed money, only take cash from customers. I had to kick the guy out of my building because I felt so uncomfortable. I then received a call from Ashley Furniture/Furniture Mart customer care and the lady promised me reimbursement on the delivery and to find a crew to take it up the five flights at no extra cost to me. She told me she would call the next day to reschedule and I missed the call. I call back the customer care team and get an AWFUL dude on the phone telling me I don't get any of my money back, I have to pay for the extra flights of stairs, and I should go buy a smaller couch. I asked to speak to a manager and he REFUSED. His exact words were, "There's nothing a manager can do that I can't do." I hung up on that idiot and called back later to speak with someone else. The lady was very apologetic and promised a Director of the company would call me by end of day tomorrow. NO ONE CALLED. So I then call again and get another sweet lady who is also so sorry this all happened and sent me to a lead. The lead could do absolutely nothing for me so again, I asked for a Manager to call me by the next day. The next day comes and I FINALLY ended up speaking to the director and was still told I had to pay THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS to get my couch up five flights, or buy a smaller couch. THIS COMPANY HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PROMISE YOU THINGS THEY WON'T KEEP!

After he left I looked at getting curtains and the woman that helped me was pushy and didn't listen to what I wanted. 2 years ago I popped in because I was looking for a new bedroom set for my condo. I walked the whole Floor before being greeted by a woman. She treated me like I was wasting her time and didn't have enough money to spend in the store. I saw a set I liked but knew I didn't want to deal With her so I left. Fast forward to last week... my daughter was given a $1000 gift card for Montgomery's when they closed on their first home. One day, while out and about doing other things and not really dressed up, they stopped in to look to see what Montgomery's has to offer now. The woman that greeted her and her fiancé was nothing short of rude and condescending. They left and gave me a call. I told them to go to Madison or Watertown. They went to Madison and had a much better experience. Word to Management... treat every customer with respect. Not everyone is able to afford your Sioux Falls store but they are going to be talking to friends, family and at work about how they were treated.

These couches had best high quality brown leather I'd ever seen with curved edges, super comfy, solid craftsmanship (kind of spendy but worth it) You dream of having them forever! Well, our dogs were jumping around on them, and since the leather had thinned a bit, wear n tear and lots of sunshine in 15 years made for a little bit of dry leather. Then my 4 legged fur babies poked holes in some of the cushions with their nails it really looked tacky. So I called Dewitt designs and spoke with Jim, he said I could get the cushion covers replaced!!! I was ecstatic because these are our forever couches. You know something really nice you want to hand down to family member. Well, the whole process took three or four weeks, and Jim was so pleasant and so helpful. We first wanted to make sure the leather matched the original couches color/texture so he sent me samples then I got the final product. Here's a picture of the finished product.
