The only thing I buy here really are books, I love finding a good hardback to a soft cover book I've previously bought or just a book that I meant to buy but never did. You can always catch a good Harry Potter hardback or Twilight; just basically some good named titles that people half read and donated. And they are fraction of the price as new, literally $3 or less. Can't beat it... I hardly donate because again I hate Goodwill and think they are choosy and overcharge for items. If it's not worth a certain value, it never hits the floor. idk what they do with it but that's kinda messed up..why accept it? I hardly buy anything else, a sturdy piece of cookware one time. The furniture...you might find a good piece every OTHER blue moon but it's mainly old and out dated. But books, especially good books NEVER get old!

This one does not offer the senior discount most of them do. It used to be really bad, it smelled bad and was just junky... about a year ago it changed to better. I've been a few times and never had an issue, til now. I went to the cashier with no one in line.... One item did not have a price, so she called "management " meantime scanning the other items..... granted I should have had my mind made up BEFORE checkout, but while waiting for management I had a change of heart on one of the items I'd had to put aside, the cashier was dumbfounded and asked me if she'd already scanned everything... she had.. but we're still waiting for the price on the unmarked item, I told her I wanted to change one item for the one I'd had the change of heart on..... by now there are 5 people in line behind me so I said I'd pay for what she'd rung up... about then manager shows up, cashier says I wanted to change one item -- it would be an additional $2 so I had that ready... manager says NO, once the item is scanned its irreversible.... I cannot change my mind I cannot exchange I cannot return a scanned item. As I was walking away I reminded her the item id originally asked about didn't have a price tag.... Mgr says she'll call for a price--- I said cashier had already done that, and walked out. I'm still steamed about this.... Like many I've donated tons of stuff to "goodwill"..... many do accept exchanges, offer senior discounts even returns. The notion that they are a for profit institution rings clear now. I will not be seen in this one again. This was absurd. No stars but had to let others know.

Like Goodwill stores this business is for helping people who need the assistance of others to get back on their feet. Yes the store is a bit disorganized but that leads to some suprising finds as far as I am concerned.

Never have I ever had an attendant 3 steps behind me (while she was on her phone, and staring off when acknowledged). When I finally had enough and asked, "why?" I was told it's their "customer service protocol". Even my 9 year old brother did not believe that. Like I said, I've spent too much money on their overpriced, used records to believe their less than ideal sales tactics. Truly, I was excited to create an experience and buy a gift for an upcoming birthday, and yet I was never given the privacy and decency to do so. I recommend to walk down the street to Grammas Corner. It's a family run antique store that allows you the opportunity to look around and make fun memories.

The visit to this estate sale, Estate Sales of Champions, was not the best experience I have had…read more The woman in charge and cashing customers out was, let me say, lacking in the ways of politeness and kindness. I attempted gently to point out a glaring defect in an item I was nevertheless interested in, and I asked whether she would consider coming down on the price. In a cold and somewhat hostile tone, she told me, condescendingly, that she, of course, knows about the defect and she set that price anyway. She was steadfastly militant about not negotiating on the first day of a sale. So, I did not press the matter. What I don't understand is why she could not have communicated in a more respectful way. We both could have then parted ways with a good feeling. Alas, that ship did pass. I proceeded to pay for a couple of other items I had picked out, excluding the damaged one. However, when I requested a receipt, she behaved as if I was placing on her an excessive burden; after making a face, she quickly tore off a tiny corner of a piece of notebook paper, engaged in scribbling activity, and graciously provided me with what you see in the attached photo. I could not help pondering whether the IRS would lovingly accept this receipt, one that I could have had my 3 year old write up for me. I should add that I was the only one in line. So, it was not like there was pressure on her. Moreover, she had a receipt pad right there. She had used it right in front of me for the previous customer! I honestly don't understand her rudeness toward me. I was not aggressive but friendly when asking her about the damaged item she me as if I was not spending enough to be worth her so valuable it Yes, it could have been a person just having a bad day. Yet it seemed more like a person who has grown cynical in her job. I think owners and employees of estate sales (as well as other businesses) sometimes begin to despise their customers. At this point, maybe a change of profession is advisable. As for the prices, they were on the high side. One goes to estate sales for bargains, not to pay more than one might pay on Amazon or Ebay. I did find a couple of bargains but had to forgo a few overpriced items. So, it was certainly not the best experience I have had at an estate sale but not the worst either. I gave Estate Sales of Champions 3 stars because the other people working at the estate sale were, in stark contrast to the cashier, very friendly and helpful. I don't exagerate the pleasant and respectful treatment I recieved from the other people working the estate sale. They were great! I thank them. Also, I did find a couple of nice items. And the cashier, I suppose, deserves the benefit of the doubt. Everyone can have a mean, disrespectful, disparaging, condescending, and nasty day. I have encountered much worse at other estate sales, where one is treated not as a customer, but as a mark (See my review of the one and only Becky Thompson estate sale I will never knowingly attend). I am not crossing 'Estate Sales of Champions' off the list I would patronize. It is worth another try or two. And I would not yet discourage anyone from attending estate sales run by this company.

In all fairness I believe most were corporate clothing. Maybe not what clientele are looking for. After a certain period of time on listing, the clothes are now out of season and I can elect either to donate them or pick them up. 5 stars for staff who helped with intake. They were fantastic. 0 stars for ability to make any money off my high end clothing. I have in the past sold to used clothing stores that pay outright and made a lot. Here on consignment it wasn't worth the gas for the trip. So unfortunately 2 stars.

On the particular night that my wife and friends visited, the shop was hosting a local artist and his paintings. There were champaign, cheese, fruits and coffee for shoppers. The artist and his Dad was very friendly, engaging, and informative. One of my friends brought two prints from the artist. Shop owner and employees were also friendly and not intrusive. We all were very happy the the locals support each other.

Unfortunately, the Apparel site is fully booked within 2 minutes after opening. The Household Goods Consignment appointment site is easy to work, and one is able to readily book appointments. All in all Charity Guild of Catholic Women is an excellent organization, but needs work on the Apparel Appointment Website.
