We bought a (brand new construction) townhouse from Creekview Builders (Mokena) in Dec 2017 after…read morewatching it be built since May 2017. I just want to echo the last review that they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THE YEAR WARRANTY on their work/construction/anything.
Note: They (Rosaleen O'Gorman, their manager/family member) were very responsive while they were building our house, and answered all of our emails and phone calls. Once we met their lawyer, signed the paperwork and got keys in hand, they started to disappear.
Case #1: Feb 2018 - We realized that our brand new dishwasher handle had completely fallen off. We maybe had used it 5 times? It took a few e-mails (w/photos of the appliance), and finally Rosaleen put me in contact with an ABT Electronic rep who organized a repair.
Case #2: March 23rd, 2018 - We sent an email very detailed with photos to Rosaleen O'Gorman stating that our front door was cracking where the locks were installed, thus causing our door to not lock properly. We also described how our front walk/sidewalk was lifting up and cracking, becoming uneven after only three months of occupying the townhouse. She did not answer. We sent another email on 4/1. No response. We sent another firm email on 4/9. We finally got a wave-off response about "talking to the guys and seeing what they can do" on 4/10. Without any further discussion with us, they came and took out the bad concrete the next day. It then sat for THREE WEEKS with ripped up concrete; anyone coming over would have to walk on the ripped up concrete, rusty nails, and construction zone just to get to our front door. It was so unsafe that my neighbor considered calling the city over it for us out of her frustration watching it sit like that for weeks. 4/18 - We sent an email to Rosaleen O'Gorman asking why it was ripped out without any plan to re-fill it and fix it. AKA: Why rip out the concrete so early in advance with zero plans to fix it or make it safe? That day we received a response saying the ground had to settle (WHAT?!) before they could re-pour it and once again, "she'd ask the guys about the front door." We have had ZERO success getting ahold of Creekview Builders via Rosaleen O'Gorman since that last email. There has been not an ounce of communication with us. I also want to note that she sits in the model home in this development for HOURS a day, right next to our house. Very easy to get ahold of us. After numerous e-mails and unanswered phone calls - On MAY 2ND (!!!) the front walkway was finally made safe, evened out, and concrete was re-poured. Fixed, right? WRONG.
Case #3: So lovely of them to finally address the safety concerns after ripping out the concrete pre-maturely, however they now had left rusty nails, rocks, and now damaged and uneven landscaping. We sent an email to Rosaleen O'Gorman with photos of the mess that was left behind. You guessed it: we still have not had ANY responses back from her. Our phone calls go unanswered and just ring till it goes to voicemail. And still to this date, nothing has been fixed after the mess they left after fixing the walk way.
Case #4: May 25th - It's the first two 90*+ days of the year, and our AC is no longer working. At this point, I had enough and went right down to the construction at last two townhouses they are working on and found one of the builders, Patrick (son, not father) and confronted him. I let him know that our AC was broken, asked about the front door and landscape, and let him know that our e-mails and phone calls have gone unanswered from his sister/Creekview Builders "Manager" Rosaleen O'Gorman since mid April. He called the AC Tech right on the spot infant of me and he was at my house within the hour and fixed our AC unit. Patrick had also mentioned that they would send the painter to "plug" our front door to prevent more cracking without looking at the photos or coming to see for himself, that the door needs to replaced as it does NOT lock anymore. Shocker: no one ever came by.
Case #5: June 8th - We find one of the other builders, Patrick Senior. Patrick Jr & Rosaleen O'Gorman's Father. My boyfriend brings him to our house and shows him the front door. He says he will send someone over to take a better look at it/talk about repair. Shocker: no one has come by.
Today, June 23rd, we still have a broken front door which will not lock, dead landscape, and a few inches gap of rocks all torn up STILL between the walkway and landscape from the shotty fix of the walkway.
They are still building in this new development. Rosaleen still sits just houses away for HOURS a day in the Model home. We are going to approach the builders on site next week, and if they continue to make no contact and ignore our emails, we will be reaching out to an attorney.
AVOID ALL OF THIS HASSLE: Do NOT build your new home with Creekview Builders.
