Cool area, fully fenced in. Can be muddy and it's on a big side slope, but overall not a bad park!

Loved this place! Perfect for the pup to mingle and get out energy. My pup loved the little dog area although not as cool as the big dog spot! The park is very pretty and great for an afternoon. People pick up after their dogs and there are benches. Great park check it out! read more

I'd give zero stars but the park earns one just by existing. One of the double doors for each park was busted so good luck if you get rushed by aggressive canines, the whole area was extremely overgrown and not being maintained at all, and the dog parents in the large dog park didn't discipline any negative behaviors...the large and loud raven-haired lady sure seemed to enjoy bossing people around though! Don't be surprised to encounter various wild small animals/reptiles and ticks galore, now that the place has "gone back to Nature." My neighbor is one of the park founders and is heartbroken over the conditions. I wish the Borough would step up and take ownership. From what I gather, the former solicitor was afraid of the liability issues so the park remained privately funded and maintained. However, he's long gone and the new apartment complexes are using the proximity of the park as a selling point, so I think either MD3/Toll Bros. or the Borough should finally step up to the plate with ownership. Even if you're not a UPT resident, just use Longford Dog Park...the lack of shade is negated by the constant upkeep by the township and its more than worth the drive. read more

This is a great space to bring your dog. Went for the first time today and our 5 month old puppy just loved the room to run and interact with other dogs. Friendly people and all were understanding of our little guy wanting to play with every dog there. Bowls of water on hand, dog waste bags, trash cans and a cool path around the perimeter, outlined from the local branches. Lots of shade is a bonus and they have a smaller fenced in area for folks that have smaller dogs (30 lbs or less I believe). Limited parking (8 spaces or so) but plenty more a short walk down the road towards Reservoir Park. This place will be a weekly spot to hang out and work on our puppy's socialization for sure. We had a great first visit to Reservoir Dog park today. Even though the park is huge, it's completely fenced in and our dogs were able to run around and explore in the woods. There was a great little group of dogs there to play with. Just be aware the small dog park still appears to be closed. read more

Our favorite dog park in the area. Love all of the shade, water source, and a few benches for tired owners. I love that it's completely fenced in so the dogs can wander with no worries. Make sure you bring bug spray and flea/tick prevention for the pups, as it can be a breeding ground for all things insect. The best times to go are late afternoon - 4 to 6 pm for maximum dog attendance! read more

This place is okay, but it's not too safe. If you're going to go there, you're better off there in the day time. The wrong crowd often shows up around dusk, using the park as a place to hang out. Locals had several complainants about people being harassed and assaulted. In the day time it seems to be alright, but my wife and I go together. read more

This large fenced dog parks has pluses and minuses. The pluses: it's larger than most dog parks, It has lots of trees, no problem parking (but parking is a bit far from the dog area). Minuses: it has too many trees - there's little sunlight and so there's little grass, but lots of dirt (mud, when it rains), there's never more than a few dogs at one time, owners don't talk to each other - there doesn't seem to be a regular crowd. Okay, but could made great with some improvements. Needs more dogs. read more

Our dog loves it here! We often take him to this dog park or the one off of Longford Road. Reservoir Dog Park is a nice shaded place for your pup to run around and socialize with other dogs. There are tons of trees and forest like elements so this dog park isn't just the typical open field fenced in. There are also benches, which are decently clean for a dog park. If you go to the back there are also a few short trails to walk around. There are 2 sections: one for the small dogs and one for larger dogs. Appears that dog owners are good about picking up after their pets and the people who take their dogs here are friendly. The negatives include the amount of bugs (tons of those little gnats, so go when there's a slight wind and you'll be fine) and the owners who let their dogs attack other dogs and think their dogs are "playing" (but I guess you find that anywhere). Come bring your pup to play here! read more

I like a "natural" setting, and this dog park is perfect. Lots of trees, even a small patch of woods in the large dog enclosure. Play areas can be measure in acres, not square feet. For the people who complain that it's "not maintained," this is not sponsored by a municipality. It's run and maintained by volunteers. There is a big sign at the entrance which clearly states every second Saturday of the month is a work day, start time 8:00 a.m. Have you pitched in to help on the maintenance? For the most part really nice people, and friendly dogs, little problem with aggression either on the part of other dogs, or enabled by the humans. Several little conversation areas with benches donated by individuals and local veterinarians. Water right outside the entrance during the summer, it's shut off during the winter but I bring in a half gallon as a "contribution." There are several metal water dishes. Quite a few balls on the ground, and I've also purchased a small supply of dollar store dog balls and leave one each week. Good supply of doggie waste bags and trash receptacles. Some saint is regularly taking the big plastic filled bags out of the containers, and bringing them to the side of the road presumably for pickup by a trash truck. Here is the statement in the "about" section of the park Facebook page: "Reservoir Dogs! Is a volunteer run dog park. The Borough does not supply funds or staff time to the dog park, so we depend on donations and volunteers" read more

This is a great dog park if you don't mind the drive, and even better if you live nearby! It's got some of the biggest expanses of running area for your dog i've ever seen at a dog park and is pretty new and well-kept. Their small dog/big dog sections are separated by under and over 30 pounds, respectively. For my medium-sized dog, I like that breakdown a little better than the typical 25 pound dividing line i've seen. there are also more medium-sized dogs at this park than tiny teacups, so it's advantageous if you've got an energetic dog that needs to get some chasing in! there are only a couple downsides, depending on how you look at it. seating: they have picnic tables in each side. On the one hand, that's really cool because you can eat lunch there, but on the other, it's really awkward if you come in and people are already sitting down. not that there's anything wrong with standing... kids: i very rarely see kids at dog parks, but this one is the one exception. when i've been there i've noticed quite a few little ones running around without their parents paying attention, many of whom are not particularly well-behaved, and i'm not referring to the dogs. i remember one child who felt the need to pick up my dog by her front legs repeatedly even after i politely asked her to stop. yes, my dog is cute. but please, leave her alone and let her play with the other dogs! she wasn't like 4 or 5 either. she was probably in the 7-9 age group and really should have known better. and where were her parents or guardians during this time? smoking cigarettes on the other side of the fence. annoying! the politics here are tricky. you don't want to tell a parent what to do with his/her kid, but you also don't want to let the brat (er...child) eff with your dog either. PLUS, what if my dog was aggressive? this kid doesn't know. and her parents obviously never taught her to be careful around strange dogs. all it takes is one incident of a kid messing with a dog and the dog reacting to make a bad name for the dog park. toys: i never really payed attention to this in the rules & regs of other dog parks, but Reservoir Dogs does have a no-toy policy. I doubt that it's enforced, but I have noticed that there aren't spare tennis balls ever lying around. all-in-all though, this is a great dog park. if you've got a pup with a love for long car rides, i'd recommend at least checking this place out. read more

There was a group collecting fees before to maintain the site - what are the fees going for? Where is the enforcement of cleaning up after your dog? This off leash dog park is a one of a kind!! It is mostly in the woods, but it still has lots of bare ground space to throw balls and play in. This park is especially nice on hot sunny summer days when other parks are so hot that your dog is heavily panting after 10 or 15 minutes. They also have lots of bench space to sit on along with water bowls and a spigot to fill them as you enter the park. There is a large dog and a small dog area but the small dog area is a little overrun with weeds right now. My puppy likes to explore the trails through the weeds and trees when no one else is there. So far all of the people and dogs we have met there have been great!! This park is a real gem. UPDATE: A couple has mowed the grass in the large dog area and the borough has mowed the grass in the small dog area plus some in the large dog area!! Both areas look great now and there are plenty of poop bags too!! read more

This is a decent park. It's bigger than some and there's usually 1 or 2 other dogs there... But most of the time, there's only 1 or 2 other dogs there, still, the people are nice and always clean up after their dogs read more

This is an awesome dog park. Our dog is a bit "energetic" for others... when we showed up during peak times he would run in and bounce on the backs of the relaxing dogs... so we've recently chosen to go at "off" times, but either way he's very entertained. The park is huge and gives plenty of areas for the dogs to explore. The areas for large and small dogs are separated, but only through a chain link fence, so if you have a large dog who thinks he's small (like mine), he can entertain himself with his friends on the other side. The owners that I have seen frequent this place are respectful of the rules, and tolerant of our energetic puppy. :) I highly suggest supporting this park and encourage others to attend. read more

I agree with the previous reviews. We took our dog here during the weekday and there were a steady flow of dogs coming and going, without feeling over crowded. I agree about the bugs; there are a lot of them but they don't bite. There are a couple of water bowls for the dogs and clean benches for the people. Lots of shade and trees. I wouldn't classify this as a park at all. At least if you're able to find it...there are no signs indicating where you are! Just a small area of poorly maintained ground full of large holes and weeds. The dog park is for large dogs only. It's way back in the woods and nothing but mud. I am from Pottstown and the recent floods knocked down the fence at the Pottstown Bark Park, so I was looking for another location. An Internet search found this one and the Reynolds Dog Park in Oaks. Reynolds Dog Park: Pros: Big, wide open. Great for running/playing. Plenty of dogs - must have been 10-15 when we were there on a Sunday morning. Cons: Very minimal shade. No place to sit. Reservoir Dogs Park: Pros: Big. Wooded/shaded. Benches to sit while the dogs play. 4-5 other dogs there when we visited (Sunday afternoon). Cons: Wooded, not a lot of "open" space to run and play. Pottstown Bark Park: Pros: Not as large as the previous two, but still plenty of room. Some shade and benches to sit. Cons: You have to pay $25/year to get a key. Yes, the bark park is locked. I think for this reason it is not utilized as much. I saw more dogs in 1 day at the previous two parks than the TOTAL I have seen at Pottstown in 2 YEARS. We'll probably come back here more often because it is a bit closer than Reynolds. read more

I love the Phoenixville dog park. The people are always nice and they will police their dogs when they need too. People always pick up after their dogs as well. We've always gone Sat or Sun around 1:00 and stay for about an hour. My dog is always exhausted when we leave. I would love to go a couple times during the week as well but we live in Pottstown. There is a dog park in Pottstown but there is never anyone there. I set up a FB page called Pottstown Dog Park in the hopes that people will post when they will be there and we can set up doggie play dates. So if you live near Pottstown look it up! In the P-ville dog park I can only review the large park. They have benches set up in a couple different spots and there are plenty of trees which provide tons of shade. There are always plenty of dog bowls around and gallon jugs used to fetch the water (which is outside of the fence). I would have liked to see the water nozzle inside the fence to make it a little easier to get. They have a small plastic pool which has to be filled up with a hose. The park doesn't have a hose so people usually bring one. Since the park is basically dirt and rocks the pool is nothing but mud water in a matter of minutes. It would be convenient if the park provided a hose because last time we were there my boyfriend had to fill the gallon jugs and made a million trips to just fill the pool, which was quickly turned into the muddiest, nastiest water! There is no grass in the large park. When the dogs come running you see nothing but a big dust cloud. My dog is FILTY when she leaves! She likes to wrestle too, so the dirt is everywhere. That's the one thing I like about the Pottstown Bark Park, it's pretty much all grass. The people and their dogs make this place great, so I will be back on the weekends! read more

This is a great park if you can go with a few friends. The space is well maintained and the wooded style is unusual for a dog park, but the dogs seem to enjoy it. Every time I've went, though, there have been a few regulars that were less than welcoming of people that weren't in their special clique. Bring a friend and have fun! read more
