I love this dog park! It's huge, has plenty of parking, bathrooms nearby, and there's a trail you can take that'll put you out at a nearby dog-friendly restaurant. You'll start to recognize "the regulars" if you go frequently. So far, I've had no issues with dogs or their owners. read more

I visited this park on a Friday afternoon between 4 and 6 pm. This seems to be a park where people come regularly. Several owners knew many dogs by name. Everyone was friendly enough. The number of dogs ranged from six to 20 during those two hours. A couple dogs got snappy, but their owners were very conscientious and put the dog in timeout or left the park. On this day, all the pet owners pooper scooped, and I did not find the park to be a crap land mine. There are actually three fenced in areas but everyone was in the large dog section. The smallest dog was around 15 lbs. There isn't a water station but several owners had bowls out which became communal K-9 use. Other owners would refill as needed from jugs they brought from home. I had a 35 pound boxer/Boston terrier mix who was mostly antisocial since it was his first visit. I would visit this park again. It's in a good location - not much traffic or noise and right on the trail. If there were water stations, I would have given Reynold's Dog Park a five star rating. read more

My girls and I really enjoy this park. Lots of room to run, and a little shade if it gets too hot. Almost every dog owner we met was very nice and quick to correct their dog if needed. Only reason I didn't rate with 5 stars is you have to bring your own water. read more

As a new dog owner, I don't have many dog parks to compare this to. However, this is the closest dog park to my house and my dog LOVES IT. There are two fenced in areas: one for dogs under 25 lbs and one for dog over 25 lbs. I think that's great. My Boston Terrier is 18 lbs and he gets knocked over by large dogs. This park is also accessible by bike off the Perkiomen Trail. Pug lovers- there is a pug meet up every second Saturday at 10:30. (My dog is not a pug but he loves to play with them.) TIP: Bring bug spray- it's always buggy! read more

The park had one pen open and it was only large dogs. I see a claim that every dog is friendly and owners are too and responsible but have to disagree. My experience was opposite. I found a dog was ganged up on and pinned down while multiple dogs tried to bite her. Growling and aggressive barking and owners did nothing. If I didn't jump in the dog could have been seriously hurt. I would recommend to stay away from this park and it would do the township good to put better controls around that park read more

So you start out by pulling in the drive way. Sit there for a minute or two to get a feeling for how the other dogs are. When u go up to the first gate u open it up and ur in a type of Sally port which shuts behind u. It's kind of a piece of mind cause there's no open gate to get out. Once you open that second gate then your four legged friend hauls azz into the wide open, clustering with the multitude of doggies. The place is broken down into two dog parks. One is for small dogs and that is located on the other side of the parking lot which is clearly marked and the other one is for larger breed dogs. The larger breed dogs is broken into two gates. The first gate is where all the dogs go it's wide and is about a football field long! Plenty of space to let ole rover move around. The second one is about same size and length and is separated by a gate down the middle and it's never open! Never. I have no idea why they don't just take the gate out in the middle and make it one large area. They have trash cans and little stations where u can get poo bags so you can clean up and dispose of your dogs poo mess. That's a huge plus over a lot of parks that have nothing. If you come also bring your own water. They have a small fountain right near the gate but the fountain has a lock on it so I have no idea why it's there. The park also provides a lot of grass areas and when ur pouch digs up a hole they are pretty good at filing it in.. Except for the bottomless mud pit in the one corner that every dog loves to go to. If it has rained keep an eye on your dog cause when one dog goes in the mud hole they allllllllllll seem to follow. Then you have stagnant mud covered dog. Last but not least. Some of the other dog owners that come in are over all pretty friendly and nice. And then you get the grumpy people that like to nit pick over every little thing. I have had no problem with my dog and other people. But sitting there you hear everything. "Who's dog is jumping on mine stop him before I kick him". Ok first. They are dogs dogs are going to jump why argue about it. The man and the woman actually argued about this then the woman states " I have been coming here longer then You have newbee you leave". The only problem I have personally had with my dog and some other owner was some lady put down a water dish and filled it up for her old mange looking lab and my dog and another dog went up to it and started drinking out of it and she walked up and smacked both of them in the heads. As a side note I bring a separate portable water container that attaches to my hip. When he's thirsty he comes over and I give him one. He's a dog if he sees a water source and other dogs are drinking from it don't touch people's dogs. I will not described the encounter between myself and her but she was informed never to touch some else's companion. Last and finially lastly and I'm done, my tip at the beginning be observant when u first get there. Watch how the dogs are with each other. When a new dog comes in watch their demeanor. Some owners decide hey let's bring spike the most unhappy pit freakin bull angry dog and see how many people we can clear out of the park. This guy walks in and all hell breaks loose his pitbull is chasing other dogs down right from the gate. Tackling the dog and has his mouth around their throats every time he tackled a dog. He was showing his teeth and growling like a mad man and when the dogs take off running he tackles them and jaws around the neck. Guys explanation " I trust him around my 2 month old". Right dude. I went and attempted to get my dog just how every other owner was also making a mass exodus but ole kujo locked eyes with my dog ran after him and tackled him to the ground with the jaws around his neck. When I heard him yelping I ran over and the guys statement "they are only playing". My dog is a large breed pinned down to the ground with a pitbull locked around his neck and he's yelping. That's not playing. Especially when my dog hardly ever makes a peep. He starts laughing "people need to calm down they just playing". And I agree. Dogs do play. But not when an aggressive dog is smearing the field with every ones dog. The idiot did manage to clear the whole field. My advise is if u don't feel comfortable with a dog that's there don't argue just leave. If you have an aggressive dog don't bring them to a park with dogs and kids. read more

This dog park has lots of potential. Unfortunately several of the people that frequent the dog park are unnecessarily rude to newcomers. It appears as though a few regulars view this park as their back yard and treat others (and their dogs) meanly. I hope the township/county doesn't waste any money on park maintenance until the human users figure out how to treat others politely. read more

Well grassed dog park with lots of bag bins available. Seems like everyone picks up after their animal. Clientele (owners and dogs) could be better behaved compared to other parks I've been to. Owners let their dogs crowd the entrance gate, causing unnecessary anxiety trying to get in. There is a airlock type gate system for entrance. read more

This is a very nice dog park right next to the Schuylkill River Trail and Canal Towpath. Very convenient to get some exercise in there before letting Fido wear himself out in the dog park. There's are 3 separate areas: one for smaller dogs and two for larger ones. Since large drugs are harder on turf, one of the lg sections is always closed to allow it to recover. Folks have been very nice in both areas and seem to be generous about bringing water and bowls for the critters to drink from. read more

Great park but there are some irresponsible owners who frequent. I love this park and so does my dog, unfortunately a select few have to ruin it for everyone else. The negligence of some of the owners is not only annoying but dangerous. To be fair, there will always be accidents; not every dog will get along. The only place I around here I will consider a dog park, and i love it. The biggest thing for me is that it's fenced in. A lot of places around here don't have that for whatever reason. And the Pottstown dog park is a joke. We come here weekly and it's become a community more than anything, everyone is friendly. This park is quite close to my house. Big plus. They have 2 separate runs for the large dogs, which they rotate throughout the year. The grass gets pretty thin in between rotations with the majority of the runs being dirt. Makes for quite the mess of windy or post-rain days. The people are a tad squirrel y here. Nice, but sometimes a bit overwhelming. Every person, for some reason - seems to struggle immensely with the gate when entering/leaving. Not sure what the issue is. Then there is the spray bottle lady - who will spray your dog in the face each time it goes to play with her canine. IMO - a dog park is for our animals to run around and PLAY. Not to stay tethered to its' owner. The people that come here tend to be very over protective of their beloved pooch. I don't know. Maybe I'm too under concerned but last time I checked, dogs won't break when they rough around a little. read more

This dog park is okay. We like the Horsham dog park better because it is more scenic and the people are very friendly. This one had two separate sections - one for large breeds and one for small breeds. Our biggest complaint was the amount of flies / gnats around. read more

We have been taking our puppy here as soon as he had all his necessary shots. It has been a wonderful place to socialize him with other dogs and people. We are fortunate we live nearby and get to frequent quite often. We love seeing all the new dogs and welcoming new puppies! There are doggy doody bags and receptacles. People bring balls and toys to share as well as water. This dog park has been a gift for us with a puppy full of energy! read more

I am from Pottstown and the recent floods knocked down the fence at the Pottstown Bark Park, so I was looking for another location. An Internet search found this one and the Reservoir Dogs Park in Phoenixville. Reynolds Dog Park: Pros: Big, wide open. Great for running/playing. Plenty of dogs - must have been 10-15 when we were there on a Sunday morning. Cons: Very minimal shade. No place to sit. Reservoir Dogs Park: Pros: Big. Wooded/shaded. Benches to sit while the dogs play. 4-5 other dogs there when we visited (Sunday afternoon). Cons: Wooded, not a lot of "open" space to run and play. Pottstown Bark Park: Pros: Not as large as the previous two, but still plenty of room. Some shade and benches to sit. Cons: You have to pay $25/year to get a key. Yes, the bark park is locked. I think for this reason it is not utilized as much. I saw more dogs in 1 day at the previous two parks than the TOTAL I have seen at Pottstown in 2 YEARS. read more

This dog park is nice and spacious. People are nice but you have a new downers who are mean especially if you are new. Ive been going here for a while and have never had an issue with the dogs here (besides humping) but everyone seems to be fixed. There also a nice train to take your dogs on and a lake for your pup to swim and possible kayaking. read more
