Stayed for 3 nights the staff was very nice and attentive. The breakfast was just ok. Nothing spectacular but did the trick. The shower was had great pressure and plenty of hot water. The tile in the bathroom was dirty to include the vanity mirror. The hotel has several fast food options near by to include about a five minute drive downtown. I'd stay here again. read more

We used the suite for a reprieve from a lake day for grandparents and younger children in our group of 7 people. We found a clean room, updated surfaces and peaceful decor. Free wifi was easy to set up with the Marriott Rewards membership. Each bath had plenty of towels and privacy. The kitchen was convenient for our cooler items. The air conditioner worked beautifully for the 90 percent humidity and 90 degree temperature. A suite was available at an affordable rate. read more

my stay was poor to say the least. Was woken at 3:45 AM by a fire alarm one night, which seemed to be only affecting my room. After exiting the building (utilizing the stairs) , I notified a staff member that there was a fire alarm going off in my room. The following day I requested a new room. This request was denied and the woman working the desk said she would call the room to award points in apology. The call never came. A day later the fire alarm in my room went off again around 8:45 PM. I was very rudely told at the desk that the hotel was "completely sold out" and getting a new room was not possible. An hour later, magically, a new room was available to me. The man giving me my new key noted that fire alarms in Residence Inns are "very common" and that the alarms I had experienced were the result of people cooking and showering. I notified him that I have stayed in hotels every single week for the past two years for work all over the world for work and that all these rooms have had showers and that many had kitchens. I'm not sure if he didn't believe me or had nothing to say, but was nonetheless quite quiet. I would not recommend staying here, but if you do, remember to not shower or cook. read more

I often use Marriott for my out-of-town stays. I couldn't find any hotel that had connecting rooms or suites. Being that this was the only hotel that would accommodate my family of 4, we stayed for 2 nights in a 2-bedroom 2-bathroom suite for a nearby event. First of all, this hotel is extremely outdated. Where should I start? Although there was a full kitchen it was very run down. The drawers won't close completely, the fridge door was damage, and the ice maker didn't work so we had to get ice from downstairs. The couch had 3 tears in it and the pull-out bed was dirty. When removing the cushions, there were popcorn and candy underneath. I called downstairs and they had staff to come and vacuum the couch, and the pull-out bed mattress cover was still there from a previous stay, but they changed it. The bathrooms look like there were fixed up by a handy man off the street. In one of the bathrooms, the shower floor was dirty and there was hair on the floor. In one of the rooms, the bed didn't have a mattress cover on it, it was some type of pad with elastic bands on it to hold it to the mattress. The walls and doors had stains on them, even the ceiling and closet ceiling had stains on them. The AC only cooled off the main room and 1 bedroom. Now, I've been seeing bad reviews about the staff, but I didn't have a problem with staff, they were quite friendly. Would I stay here again, NO, but the location did accommodate us for the event we went to. read more

I was quite surprised upon my arrival. The price for the room was super fair so I was expecting just a basic room but I really was quite impressed! This is a perfect place for a night or two but you could easily stay here for extended periods of time. Super comfortable beds, kitchen with stove, dishwasher, comfortable sofa with a swivel TV. Even a desk and little table to sit and eat! Property has a pool, half basketball court and a lovely outdoor firepit with comfortable seating around it. I had my room cleaned during my stay and I have to say I was impressed with the attention to detail! The housekeeper was super kind and smiley I couldn't resist leaving her a tip on the counter upon my departure. As guests, we truly should consider leaving a little something for the housekeepers especially in a place like this where the rooms are large and there is lots to clean! Location in town was ideal. Off one of the mains roads with easy, quick access to restaurants and any other part of town. Now on to the customer service... The girls who checked me in were super friendly and genuinely very warm and welcoming. Upon checking out, a lovely young women (Leena? Leah? I'm bad with names) approached me and asked me how my stay was and just chatted with me for a moment. She was so easy to talk to she made me feel like I was an old friend staying at her house. She truly cared about how I felt about my stay and asked me for any feedback I may have. She gave me her card and I saw that she was the manager! I find that in a lot of hospitality establishments the managers hide behind the scenes unless there is an issue. The fact that she was out on the floor, interacting with her staff and her guests was really a nice addition to the overall vibe. I regret that I lost the card during my travels, but I most certainly will seek this place out next time I am in town visiting family. I definitely recommend this place for your stay! read more

Stayed over the weekend for a wedding. Location was very convenient and we were very comfortable. Paul, The dining manager was on top of breakfast, which had steady traffic for several hours. He was very accommodating & courteous. The Front Desk Staff were also welcoming & greeted us every time we entered or exited the property. The dining area was closed as we prepared to depart at 5 am. The Night Manager offered us coffee, fruit & muffins to ensure we got off to a good start. So helpful & courteous. read more

We had no choice but to stay at this hotel (because it is one of the only hotels around that are cat friendly and offer kitchens in their rooms) due to a house fire in which we lost everything and were left homeless. Before we even booked the rooms, we requested a room with a full kitchen, as advertised on their website. Not all rooms have full kitchens, though. We had to change rooms 3 times before the management finally got it right. Then shortly after we got settled into the proper room, we find out that we are being kicked out much earlier than expected, due to management overbooking the hotel by 5 rooms. This is the most stressful, incompetent, and unprofessional hotel that I have ever experienced. The general manager, Tammy Dawson, is extremely unpleasant and she made our stay very uncomfortable. The rooms are mediocre, there are bugs inside, and outside on the hotel building itself. There were no mattress protectors on any of the beds either, which is very unsanitary. The owner should remove "Marriott" from the hotel title, it is barely a 2 star hotel at best. Spare yourself and save your money for a better hotel! This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had throughout countless stays in various hotels throughout the United States. I would never, under any circumstances, recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

I don't come across many 5 Star hotels, but this one deserves it. The place was spotless, the rooms were well equipped and the staff friendly. The fitness center has cardio as well as weights and they sell local craft beer for $3.00 a can. Wednesday night they even offered ice cream and waffles. read more

New Marriott property and is a four story hotel. Outdoor pool and hot tub. Other items including basketball court and natural gas fire ring. Meeting rooms are available. WiFi available available and for the most part runs fast. Guests enjoy breakfast and some nights they offer extras. I arrived late to check in and was five minutes later for somores and I ask about could I and in short order I had a plate of three, bottle of water, some popcorn and some pretzels. The hotel must be near some good fishing ramps and spots due to the number of boats parked over night. Will stay here again. read more

My family and I stayed here recently. I checked in online and upon arrival, all I had to do was show my ID and grab the key, which was great. However, once we got to our room, we discovered that our bathroom had an awful leak coming from the room upstairs. There was water all over the floor and a continued dripping. We were headed out to a function, so we just did what we had to do and headed out. When we were walking out the front doors, we mentioned this issue to the front desk clerk, she immediately stated they would get on it and I gave her my cell to call with any updates. About 20 minutes later I received a phone call that it was an issue they couldn't fix and they would have to move us to another room. She said for our inconvenience she was upgrading us to a 2 bedroom (not needed) upgrading us to the enhanced WiFi, and would be happy to help us move when we got back. I appreciated the quick call, but wasn't too excited about having to change rooms when we got back, especially because our 8 month old would be undoubtably sleep. When we got back, we were quickly given our new room keys and the young lady apologized again. Now, if the new room had been decent, I probably would have given them 4 stars. But it wasn't. The front door could barely close, the bathroom door wouldn't close, none of the phones worked (which I found out when I tried to call the front desk because I wasn't able to log onto the promised enhanced WiFi) Never was able to get logged on btw. So all in all, not a great visit we experienced at this location. read more

Stayed here during covid19 (may). The room was dirty (dirty dishes, crumbs on counters, fingerprints around kitchen). Took half hour to clean and sanitize with products we brought. Website advertises pool and hot tub but they have been drained for quite a while as shown by the large weeds growing up in the deck. With Covid they don't offer much of a breakfast, just to-go danish. Also, had to deal with loud parties until the early morning hours. Management did not seem to care and it was clear the employees did not want to be working (can't blame them). read more

I love this hotel! We stay here a good bit since we attend many functions in the Shoals area. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. It is also a very clean hotel. I like the fact that this hotel is also pet friendly. The suites are nice and offer a full kitchen (some suites with two bedrooms). The fire pit, hot tub and pool are great additions to the property. This property also sits off the main highway, which does keep the noise from traffic down. The hot breakfast in the morning is decent fare. This is almost always where we stay if we are in town. This property has had issues with its internet connectivity and speeds for at least two years. The local management says they have been trying to get the Marriott franchisee to upgrade the internet service, but the franchisee has an ISP bundle with their other hotel properties and won't do a one-off change for this property. I have complained to Marriott customer service with no result. High speed internet connectivity is advertised for this property, but if more than a few dozen guests are on the network, it becomes unresponsive. This is not acceptable for business travelers who need to get work done, nor is it legal given the advertised high-speed internet connectivity speeds fall far below what the FCC defines as high-speed internet. read more

Absolutely nasty experience. Not only were the rooms not clean but they also didn't supply shampoo and conditioner etc. when I was there. I had to call down to the front desk to get some sent to me. Leading me to believe that room hadn't actually been cleaned. There were hairs on the bathroom floor dust piled in the corner and it looks to be either pasta sauce or blood on the bottom of the bathroom door. The floors hadn't been vacuumed and the bed had a long hair on it. The Manager offered to have someone come out and either clean the spots that were dirty or switch me to another room. This was after I had asked if my room had even been cleaned. A question which was never answered. There was a nice young man who came up to clean some of the dirtier areas, that was very kind and helpful. Overall though the cleaners in the room really grossed me out. I've stayed in some of lower level hotels in my day but this one was completely unacceptable. The furniture was also beat to crap. It looks like someone had thrown it around the room a couple times and then put it back into place. It felt more like a city motel than a Marriott read more

Stayed here for the weekend in a king suite. This is a nice, new hotel with very spacious rooms. We had a kitchen in our room with a full-sized fridge and a little sitting area/living room. It looks like it is set up for long term stays, as they will also do your grocery shopping for you! There was plenty of available parking (free!) and breakfast offered in the lobby. There is also a pool and basketball court, which we did not use but would have if the weather was better! The staff was friendly and helpful when calling a cab, etc. Would recommend! read more

We stayed here in July. It was a repeat visit, and we had looked forward to our return. What a difference a year makes. We had booked our room a month in advance but we were not given the room type that we had reserved. The desk without apology, acknowledgement or warning placed us in an accessible room. When you don't need them, they are awkward and uncomfortable with thermostats and closets at waist level and metal bars in the bathroom and shower. Our complimentary enhanced internet didn't work, probably because they had bumped us and the names on the room didn't match. We are Platinum Elite with Marriott, meaning we have spent a lot of hotel nights in their properties, and this is not what we have come to expect. I wrote Marriott upon departure, and was more than disappointed with the general managers response. They were full that weekend, never knew that was an excuse. We won't stay with them again. read more

The staff, especially house keepers, are awesome. My mother and I are staying here now due to our insurance putting us here. This is the noisiest hotel I have ever been in. We are on ground floor due to my mother being in a wheelchair. I've had to contact the front desk twice because it sounded like the people above us were going to crash through our ceiling. Today it sounded like it was being remodeled above us it was that LOUD!!! If you need rest or would like to sleep anytime at all and you are going to stay here then you need to stay on the top floor so nobody is walking above you. People need to respect people on floor below them. Front desk also needs to respect customers when they call and tell them the stomping noise is BAD! read more

Hotel is well kept, the staff was super friendly and they even have a kitty cat named Benny who hangs out near the pool area. Benny, by the way, is likely the nicest cat I have ever met, in my life...Benny, of course, is a stray but he apparently has been in the area for a long time. He stays outside though so no worries if you are allergic to cats. The hotel has a decent pool that is also well kept, a basketball court, AND A FIREPIT...thats a first to see at a Residence Inn. Marriott should put one of these at all of their properties. We sat out by the firepit and had a few glasses of wine, some cold beer and grilled up some burgers..so much fun. My only complaint was the breakfast area. There didn't seem to be a designated person responsible for the breakfast and the food ran out every morning we were there. Also, the grits were absolutely inedible...how do you mess up grits? Still all in all very happy with the hotel. read more

The Inn seemed to be rather new, but the staff members I interacted with were second to none. The breakfast was excellent. In room internet connection was quick and easy to log in. Excellent value for the money. Strongly recommend. read more
