Such a friendly place when we arrive late after a long drive. One room suite with sleeper sofa. No fitted sheet for the sofa bed but they brought one up right away. Breakfast was well stocked with apples and bananas. Oatmeal had lots of toppings. Sandwiches and eggs and sausage. They even opened a little early since we were waiting. I checked into this Residenice Inn on 4/4/25. Upon entering my room it smelled so heavily of mariJuana so I went to ask for another room. The front desk attendant told me they were fully booked so I agreed to just open the windows since it was very late and I was exhausted. When I went back to the room this time I turned on the lights to put my luggage away and then thats when I saw the cockroaches crawling on the walls! No way I was staying in this room so I checked out and had to drive quite a ways to find a hotel. This is not the quality of any Marriott I have ever stayed! I filed a complaint with corporate Marriott but no response so I think others should know before staying of the condition. I also emailed pictures of the cockroaches to the manager but they didn't seem too concerned. read more

After an unpleasant experience at a nearby hotel, we arrived at Residence Inn in Waynesboro. We had a wonderful experience. Very family friendly. Kind and gracious staff. The beds were comfy, room clean, pool a big hit with the kids, and the breakfast selection impressive. But the best thing about this hotel was the entire staff. Everyone we met: the cleaning staff in the hall, the breakfast ladies in the lobby, and the reception staff were all so friendly. We really appreciated their efforts. Thank you! read more

The very best place to stay in the area. The rate is comparable to area hotels but here you get so much more. I travel frequently for work and I only wish I had an option like this Residence Inn in other cities and towns where I travel. This is as perfect a hotel as I have ever seen. First, check in was very simple and super quick. Today I had a 6 am flight, a 3 1/2 hour layover, followed by another flight, then picked up a rental car, then drove an hour to get to Waynesboro where I will be working for a week. I was surprised and very pleased that check in took all of 30 seconds. After all the traveling today the last thing I wanted was a lengthy check in so this speedy front desk process made me very happy. The rooms are very nice, well designed and spacious. A real kitchen with dishwasher, regular size refrigerator with top freezer, and even a nice table with chairs. Nice to eat at a regular table rather than balancing your plate on your lap while sitting on the couch. There is plenty of counter space in the kitchen too, which is nice if you want to chop up salad ingredients or perform some other type of meal prep. The kitchen cabinets are stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils. The furniture is comfortable, including the sectional sofa. The desk is a nice size and lighting is very good, with plenty of lamps and ceiling lights. The TV swivels so it can be viewed from either the bedroom, kitchen table or the sectional. Lots of channels are available as well. Bed is comfortable, and two large windows let in plenty of natural light. The bathroom has some shelves and storage cubbies in addition to the cabinets and drawers. There are nice extras offered here too, such as the evening mixers and socials. Tonight's social featured grilled brats, delicious pretzel buns, sauerkraut, cheese, diced onion, potato salad, fresh pineapple, tossed salad, beer, wine, and soda. This isn't the usual hotel "happy hour" of generic tortilla chips and watery salsa, but really decent quality food. The rooms are nicely decorated too, with interesting photos and decor that gives more of a home feel rather than typical hotel. And everything is sparkling clean! Housekeeping is really wonderful here. Pool and jacuzzi too so basically everything you need for a perfect stay. read more

Now THIS establishment is what I call a hotel! More like a resort hotel. Paid the same price as the stinkin Gaylord and for so much more between service and amenities!! Most important, this hotel had the look and clean smell of every area I explored. The pool stayed open until 12PM. There was 23-7 access to tea, hot cocoa, and coffee. The rooms were completely furnished with utensils, wine opener, can opener, microwave, refrigerator, glasses, plates, pots, pans.. you name it! Even had complementary popcorn!!! Wow! Gym area was clean and all functional equipment! Wow! Disposable ear buds. Everything was perfect! Erin at the breakfast buffet was so nice and welcoming. She even offered to bring coloring books and directions to our destination. There was a make your own waffle station, turkey sausage, eggs, cheese, etc... I could go on and on. Full blown breakfast buffet!! Kiddos and I were sooo happy! Another plus is there is an Outback Steakhouse & other restaurants within walking distance. Would I stay here again? Heck YES! read more

We recently stayed here for a one night stay. Upon check in, we were told the credit card reader wasn't working and we needed to fill out two pieces of paperwork in writing. We booked a 2 bedroom room. When we got into the room, the AC was not working. Their on call Maintenance supervisor Chris (great guy) showed up from home about 30 minutes later. It took about an hour of his hard labor but we finally got AC in the room. Chris went above and beyond and management should appreciate his customer service mindset! The room we stayed in had damage to the furniture presumably by a cat (see pictures) and paint peeling off of the bathroom door. To top it all off we witnessed the manager being disrespectful to Jordan (front desk clerk) twice. Marriott corporate will hear from us. On the bright side the breakfast was good and the kitchen staff was friendly and attentive. The gym was adequate and the indoor pool and hot tub was a nice touch. This is our favorite Marriott property. 135 nights Marriott so far in 2019, 5 of them here. Most pleasant staff especially Pam who operates the best breakfast facility going. The front desk staff Saturday noon 16 November and Sunday 7am were top notch. Sorry I missed the names. Easy access from I64. Every area is kept Spotless and it's a very quiet hotel. Our destination is Harrisonburg, 30 minutes away for home football games at James Madison University (GO Dukes!). There are more convenient and cheaper Marriotts we intention pass, just to stay here. Included morning breakfast with a great seating layout ski lodge style but with modern pleasing style with plenty of tables and a long table for big groups or families. Update from my previous review. NOT COVID SAFE. I will not stay here again any time soon, and this experience has made me doubt whether Marriott is taking the pandemic seriously. My "pod" includes two people in their 70s, so this is no joke for me. - There were toothpaste drips next to the bathroom sink, meaning that not only did they not sanitize high-touch surfaces, they didn't even clean them normally. - There were no sanitizing wipes in the room, though the clerk at the front desk gave me some upon request. - At least at 6am, two out of three staff working around the front desk were not wearing masks. They threw them on when they saw guests approaching, but virus particles remain in the air in poorly ventilated indoor spaces for hours, so they might as well not wear them at all. read more

I stayed there 2 nights with a friend (we both are in our 70's) to visit my son and his family who live in the area. I've been staying at Marriott hotels for nearly 50 years and have been a member of their rewards program for several decades. The room was clean and quiet as I had requested a top floor. We noticed, however, there were no hand sanitizers at the hotel entrances or elevators although all Marriott hotels are supposed to have them now during the pandemic based on their own guidelines. That concerned us based on our ages and that my primary doctor had died of COVID-19 in May even though he was younger and I thought in better health than I was. The previous night we had stayed at a different hotel (not a Marriott) which did have hand sanitizers in various public areas. The breakfast was very skimpy and we couldn't get coffee after 8:00 am. I can understand why they had to have a limited breakfast but many seniors don't get up that early and would like to have a morning coffee. We ended up having breakfast and lunch at a nearby Crackle Barrel which had hand sanitizers at their entrance. I never received an online survey from Marriott concerning my stay so I contacted them directly especially regarding the lack of hand sanitizers at the hotel. The Marriott agent seemed concerned too and indicated that I would be further contacted about this but I never was. I am very disappointed with Marriott. read more

Our second time staying here. It's just as nice or even nicer than I remembered. A convenient location to skyline drive, restaurants, skiing and colleges. Great pool and some rooms have fireplaces. Wonderful staff is very friendly and willing to help you out with any questions you have or requests if they can. Property appears almost new and very well kept up and cleaned. Our room was so comfortable and tidy, spacious (more than we really needed for the length of our stay, honestly, but that was nice too!) and had a little gas fireplace for us to use. Walking distance from a few restaurants and stores and driving distance from several others. You'll have to drag me out of here whenever I come back to the area! read more

From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed and confident in picking this hotel for our mini trip to Shenandoah National Park! Extremely accomodating, full kitchen and fridge, spacious, and plenty of accommodations (gym, pool, basketball, putting green, etc.) I used the grill all the time. Decided to do a weekend getaway with my family for New Year's. This hotel overall was great but I did have a few issues. Due to Covid they are not providing in room services unless requested, totally understand no issues at all. However I had requested three times for my trash and towels to be changed out which I left at the front door. When I arrive back to my room at 8o'clock my items still were sitting at the front door. I went to the front desk Derek worked every night that I was there he was great however I feel as though this hotel was understaffed or not prepared for the New Year's crowd. Each time I went to the pool I had to request for Towels as well as in the gym. I did utilize the app to message the front desk when I had issues and they were very responsive. Outside of the housekeeping issues the front desk staff was amazing the breakfast staff was great. I would recommend this hotel. read more

Brandy new everything! My family & I stayed here for a night and it was great. The rooms have a kitchen (stove & fridge) so if you're traveling with children you can prepare meals/snacks. There is an Outback Steakhouse in walking distance, right by the parking lot. There is an indoor pool & jacuzzi, great hot free breakfast in the morning and pets are allowed for a fee. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back. Ohhhh and they offer Paul Mitchell hair products in the bathroom - that's always an added plus! read more

I am a little biased because my husband is a Marriott rewards member, so we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite for free. :D That said, it was a beautiful room, beautiful grounds and a very friendly staff. We only stayed one night, but everyone was so nice and you can tell this is a new building. The kitchenette was cute and nicer than my kitchen at home! Too bad we weren't staying longer to take advantage of it. And the BED!! Oh the bed. That mattress was one of the best mattresses I'd slept on in a very long time. My bad back felt great the next day. I am in the process of finding if I can buy one from their distributor. We were unable to take advantage of breakfast or the pool, but it looked great, and if we're ever in town again, we're sure to stay here. read more

This is a nice Marriott location. It appears to have been built within the last year or so. Basketball court, putting green, indoor pool, laundry, free breakfast, free coffee, free internet service. The only complaint I have is the Internet service. It is slow much of the time. I do not require blazing fast speeds but it is slower than I like. It is too slow for me to work on my customer systems from my hotel room. For checking email, surfing the web, etc., it will do. I understand that it is free but free is not good enough. read more

Beautiful and brand new!! Conveniently located off the highway - I'd highly recommend this location if you're in the area. I actually had a meeting in Staunton and stayed here because it was so nice. Suites are modern with granite counter tops in the kitchenette, nice sofa, large flat screen TV that swivels from the living room to the bedroom area easily. Beds are comfy with lots of feather pillows. It's quiet too - did not hear any noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms. The only complaint is the area - not too much in the way of dining options. There is an Outback practically in the parking lot, but that's the nicest thing around...oh well, at least the lodging was great! read more

Diamond in Waynesboro! The staff is friendly, professional and helpful. The room was clean and ready--in fact, we had an early checkin. The family loved the pool. The facility is adjacent to an Outback Steakhouse. The continental breakfast buffet had make-your-own mini-waffles in addition to traditional fair--eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, variety of breads and rolls and a coffee/tea station. What a nice, clean and friendly staff! Loved the room we had a suite which came with a little store, toaster, dish washer, full fridge, and microwave popcorn. Breakfast the next morning was very nice. Coffee, milk, orange juice, omelets, waffles, different breads, cereal and then a few other items. The staff for this was friendly and helpful. Will be back when we are in the area. The hotel was clean throughout the building. The front staff was able to recommend some great restaurants for us to try. read more

This hotel is very good! There's an indoor pool, and a jacuzzi, very nice for a hotel like this! Although the pool is kind of small(I'm a swimmer) it's not that bad! The room is very spacious, little smaller than other hotels I've been to. By far, one of the best hotels! I stayed for 1 night. There was a couch that turns into a bed. It's not comfortable, I had trouble sleeping. There are restaurants nearby, walking distance. I will post a full review when I officially check out. For now this post is all about DORY. Dory is apart of the house keeping crew and she is amazing. I've NEVER had a house keeper so thorough. I noticed the difference when others cleaned my room. They all are decent but Dory is quick, efficient and super friendly. Its the little things that count. For example, other cleaners would leave uncleaned dishes in the sink. I understand that is the guest responsibility. However, Dory would take the initiative to load the dishwasher, put up the clean dishes amd she would even hand wash excess dishes if necessary. She leaves me little notes telling me to have a nice day and also to let me know my linens were changed. I left hotel and came back but was not placed on Dorys floor. However, the Super Friendly house keeping manager Julie accomodated my request by allowing only Dory to come service my room on another floor. So if you planning on staying here, ask to be placed on the 3rd floor so Dory can service you. Also, please be sure to leave her a tip. It would be well earned. Thank you Dory. read more

We were stranded from a snow storm and luckily were able to find lodging at this Residence Inn last week. What a lovely and terrific experience! The staff could not have been more kind or helpful. The manager Dawn even made calls on our behalf to help us when we accidentally locked our keys in the car. The hotel team put out lunches and dinners as well since many of the guests were essentially stranded. The rooms were terrific and kids had a great time playing in the pool / hot tub as well as watching some Olympics in the very nice lobby area (with fireplace and several flat screens). Full breakfast in the morning was great too. We are really discerning travelers and my husband and I agreed it doesn't get much better than this experience, especially when in a stressful situation - what a gem! read more

I had a pre-paid room reservation at this hotel and the day before I was supposed to check in, I received an e-mail letting me know that they had overbooked and could not honor my reservation but that they had made a reservation for me at a hotel across the street. Really? I had called just a few days ago to confirm my reservation and was told I had one. They had my money (in full) for a month and a half and when I questioned why, they informed me that I lost my room to a rewards member. So sorry. I am appauled that Marriott condones treating ANY customers this way, rewards members or not. I will never even consider staying at any Marriott hotel ever again where a pre-paid reservation means nothing. read more

The place is nice and all that you would expect from a Marriott, but not thrilled that they gave me a room without AC on a hot night. Said they were completely booked and couldn't move me to another room. I wouldn't have bumped this to two if they were just honest with me. The girl came to the room pretty much to blow me off. She gave me lame excuse after another and seemed completely uninterested in admitting that it is not working. I had the AC on for 30 minutes at the lowest possible temp and the air was blowing hot... I think I was able to confirm the damn thing. After some pushing she finally got a fan. read more

I loved it here. It was quaint and felt like a modern one bedroom apartment. There was five of us so it wasn't quite big enough but we made it work. I loved that they offer complimentary breakfast, just wish there was more of a variety. The pool was clean and the outdoor sitting area was nice. I'll have to stay at these hotels more! read more

I do about 75 nights a year in hotels. I like Residence Inn properties and this one does a very nice job. I also like the Hampton Inn just a couple of miles west on I64 as well. I think both hotels are owned by the same company. Marriott and Hilton (owns Hampton Inn) both have good loyalty programs. read more

My reservation was cancelled the day before I was supposed to check in. Supposedly it was due to overbooking, but someone on the phone suggested that it was because someone with status preempted us. I don't know but see others have had the same problem lately, so clearly, reservations at this hotel are often not honored, and so pretty useless. read more
