I applaud their nurses and staff all the way down to the maintenance staff. I especially want to mention one nurse in particular Nurse Moon/Mun? (Spelling may be off I never saw how she spelled her name) always took time to explain things to me, always gave me the story if it was another or a new medicine I had to take, or to answer questions. She was so sweet and attentive. She is truly a credit to her profession, I hope this reaches her to let her know much of a difference she made under her care. I felt more safe with her on duty. Not to say all the others weren't up to snuff at all. They were all fine and outstanding in thier field. Thank you for the great care. Jim Mangan

My friend could no longer live on her own and needed a safe nurturing environment with on site activities. I was on the hunt. I left a message one evening at Heritage and was contacted early the next morning. It was one of the easiest things I have done in the past few years dealing with facilities for both my Mom and husband. Everyone I met went out of their way and rearranged their schedules to facilitate a quick transfer out of a rehabilitation facility which my friend was paying out of pocket for since her insurance ran out. I am so impressed by the staff and their attitudes. They seem to enjoy their jobs! My friend loves the activities and the food. She calls me to brag about some of her meals. She is the happiest I have seen her in years! If you have someone who needs a safe haven to live and thrive in check out the Heritage. Retired RN

The food is surprisingly great (I ate there for a week!), and the facility is homey, and very well decorated - and that's coming from me, an interior designer! The staff will really try to accommodate whatever you need - whether it be clean dish towels, a bath, a ride to dinner, or just about anything. I also enjoyed meeting the residents. It's important to live with nice people, too! ;-) I highly recommend The Heritage at Framingham.

My 88-year old aunt recently went to Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center for in-patient physical…read moretherapy after being discharged from the hospital. I'm sorry to report that the care there is NOT good. In fact, it's terrible. My cousin (a nurse) said that she had to have confrontations with the staff on a DAILY basis because they were "horrible." The aids are rude and hostile foreigners, who barely speak English. Here is one example of the mistreatment my aunt received: Despite having communicated very clearly that my aunt is severely allergic to wheat gluten, the kitchen has REPEATEDLY sent her gluten-containing foods. Naturally, this causes my aunt's stomach to get "upset." She wasn't able to get to the bathroom on time. When this happened, the nurse's aide scolded her and said, "Look at the mess you made!" My aunt was taken aback and said, "Do you think I wanted this to happen??" Then, to make matters worse, she said that the aide was very rough with her as she was cleaning her. What kind of disrespectful nursing care is that??!! My aunt is supposed to have physical therapy, daily, but my cousin said that, many times, "she stays in bed all day." When she does have PT, it is good, but there just isn't enough of it. Half of the time, my cousin said, she would go in to visit, and my aunt wouldn't have her oxygen on! Then, the nurses would proceed to argue with her about whether or not she needed it. (My aunt has fluid in her lungs from cancer!) It hasn't even been a full week yet and we want to transfer her out of this place. I can't believe Mary Ann Morse has the AUDACITY to treat our elderly citizens this way, and then send a bill to insurance and our government, calling it "healthcare." Do I need to I say anything more? Beware! Do NOT go here!

She had entered this hellish place with a chance at making it, but after the abhorrent lack of care she received here, she declined rapidly. Shockingly. In the ambulance, she laughed weakly, squeezing my hand, tears streaming from her eyes, because what a blessing, she said, that she escaped that place. She died a few hours later. If you love someone, do not bring them into this building.

Then, six days AFTER she passed away Paine Estate had the audacity to withdraw more than $7000 from her bank account without authorization. The Acting Executive Director justified raiding the account by saying that they were entitled to collect rent, fees, and expenses for a month after each Resident's death (in effect, it appears, they levy their own death tax)! I am not sure how it's possible to charge a dead person for a room, meals, services, etc. that they obviously cannot utilize. It's too late for us, but please take such conditions and behavior into account when you are considering where your loved ones should live. [They don't even know what their own leases say. When trying to defend their outrageous practices, they said such practices were allowed by virtue of their lease and cited language from a lease completely different than my mother's lease was!]
