Somebody came last week and checked the list of electrical work we needed done. He told my husband he's going to text the quote the following day. Fast forward to today (over a week later), we still haven't heard from them. My husband has called a few more times the last week and not a blip from them. I texted the owner's number last night and told him my hesitation in posting this negative review due to their extreme lack of communications. Still no response. As much as I like supporting local businesses, I'm also one who leaves reviews based on our experience (negative or positive). I don't recommend them and are now on the lookout for another reputable electrician.

Our 40 year old circuit breaker box completely died about 7 am one morning, lost all power to the…read morehouse. Trying to turn the main breaker back on produced sparks and a loud pop. We called one electric company and they said they could probably arrive by 2 pm. We called R&B and they arrived just after 9 am. They diagnosed the problem, as I expected we needed a whole new main circuit breaker box outside, with all new breakers. We had a lot of breakers too, with three central AC units and a pool with pump, and freezers full of thawing out food an and all electric kitchen. We gave them the go ahead. All power from the city had to be shut off, everything bought and planned, and then all the work done. By 6 pm an entirely new circuit breaker box and all breakers were installed, and our power was back on. R&B did a fast, great job. Could not have been happier.

This eventually allowed moisture to corrode the cable resulting in loss of power. The fence installation company said a. there is no proof it was their fault and b. they aren't liable for it. I got one quote of $17K to run a new underground electric cable. Mr. Electric gave me a quote of less than 50% of the first quote. Luke from Mr. Electric with a crew of 4 people plus 5 diggers finished the job yesterday. After the work was finished, they sent their inspector to make sure everything was done to perfection! I am very please with how thorough they were!

I have used Nextdoor Electric once for actual work and also obtained three quotes from them. My…read moreusual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years.
