Calling Residing Hope "Residing Hell" isn't an exaggeration--it's the daily reality for the kids living there. Police cruisers are parked out front almost every single week, and physical fights break out on a daily basis, creating an environment constant with fear and anxiety. Out of the entire employment list, you can count on one hand the number of staff members who actually show up, do their jobs, and genuinely care about the well-being of the youth. The leadership sets a toxic tone from the top down; for instance, the current supervisor in CQ has openly made racist and derogatory remarks, going as far as calling a light-skinned girl "trailer trash" right to her face. As someone who lived through it firsthand, I've watched this facility continuously spiral downward.
