The reception space was beautiful, and the barn turned into a lovely dining hall, with giant tables. The staff were using old stables as prep spaces, which was both ingenious and adorable. They set up those fancy schmancy portable bathrooms trailers that feel like real ones. The dance floor was a good size and they set up a big ass fan to battle the humidity. Great wedding venue!

First there is no fees to do the activities but they had less activities because it is a true growing farm. Many animals walking around and you could purchase feed to feed the goats for a small fee. We enjoyed seeing the longhorn cattle on our way there and all the chickens walking around. We rode out to the pumpkin patch on a wagon pulled by a tractor. The pumpkin patch is really large and the ride was quite nice. We bought a small pumpkin that was reasonably priced at $4.00.

It is foaling season now so there are many darling babies, with their wobbly little legs, coming into this world nearly everyday until around late May or so. They are closely protected by their mamas and monitored by the farm staff around the clock. You can't deny that God exists when you are witness to such perfection; and to boot, one of these hopefuls could be future KY Derby, Breeders, OR Triple Crown winners. The staff is very informative and friendly. They take their time providing detailed history of each horse you see. We were able to pet a couple and feed all of them. Remember, put the carrot on an open/flat palm. We met Silver Charm, the oldest Living Kentucky Derby winner. We met Preakness Stakes Winners, I'll Have Another and Big Brown. We also met Hall of Fame, Lava Man. Over $150 equine athletes in the facility. I will return someday soon to do the Founders Tour!! Located in Midway Kentucky. This distillery is located on an old farmhouse from the 1830s that they…read morehave renovated into their main tasting room and space. The bourbon tastes from a lot of the history in the area, particularly with some of the brands that were previously known that we lost overtime. They have brought them back into special bottles called Elkwood Farms, and Midway distilling. The story of this distillery is also fascinating. They started in 2012 with a idea and someone's house. They then progressed to a distilling location in downtown Lexington. They've now progressed to this lovely space. We actually started off with the tasting, and I was most impressed with the toasted oak which had a nice sweetness and lightness to it, especially in the summertime. My friends enjoyed the Spanish oak finish of the Elkwood Farms, which I found to be a better winter bourbon given the spice. We then got to tour their factory and space. They were bottling different bottles of bourbon and they showed us the way that they keep their barrels which is different compared to the other locations that we've been to. They stack their barrels vertically to make them easier to move. I don't know if it changes the flavor or not, but it was a very interesting concept. They also have a special bourbon for one of the football players whose name I did not recognize but many on the tour with me did so they were very excited. This was a beautiful experience. It's a beautiful location and definitely worth going back too for a nice experience once their cafe opens.

There was a two piece combo playing, a bit too loud, and difficult for conversation. There are tables outside if you choose. I had a Bourbon Paloma Slushie, one of their specials. While not a bourbon drinker, it was a pretty good summery choice. They were making charcuterie boxes, but we opted for a dog at The Wandering Dog food truck, edible but not great. All in all, a nice event. I took my friend to the house which I had previously visited. Although it was closed someone came along and opened it. A PostScript. We met a couple who had familial connections to the house and regaled us with stories of the hauntings. Apparently, Tipsy the resident cat can attest to them. 85
