Everything looks great, smells great, and tastes great, but you'll easily pay double to triple what you'd pay at your local grocery stores. The meat is especially outrageously priced (think $15 for just one average sized steak). Vegetables may be organic and locally grown etc. but again, you're paying double to triple what you'd pay in the grocery store. With daily rising costs in gas, food, etc. who has the money to throw away on ridiculously overpriced farmers markets? The original point of a farmers market was to acquire quality locally grown foods at a better rate than the grocery and you're also supporting local business. Greed has really overtaken that and everyone at this market are just making $$$ off the "organic" labels. Definitely not worth going unless you like throwing your money away. I gave it a 2 because the eggs were good quality. However, there was literally zero difference in taste between the farm non-graded eggs and the graded eggs from the local big chain grocery store. I've been buying flowers from them for about a month now. (The secret to keep your flowers alive longer is to add a cup full of vodka to cold water and an ice cube). I change my water on a daily basis using this method and my flowers last a full 7 days). We also stopped at Nate's to get coffee. I got a cold brew with foam and a shot of toasted marshmallow. My friend got a drip coffee and a bagel with spinach artichoke spread. She said it was really good but on the messy side to eat. I also picked up a jar of carrot cake jam from salad days. There were jewelry booths, that included homemade soap, vegetables fruits, baked goods , fresh pasta, different condiments and spices, rubs, beer, cheese, and assortment of beef, chicken,pork, farm fresh eggs and so on. It was busier than normal today but I think that had a lot to do with people graduating and the fact that the previous weekend was derby so people were out of town. The people selling fresh flowers were extra busy because tomorrow is mother's day. We saw a variety of dogs too which is normal. I like that the main area of the market is sheltered so you have protection from the weather elements and shade for when it gets hot in the summer.

Not only did they rob me of my neck and giblets and cut out a chunk of the turkey, most real farms include herbs from their garden for brining. This heritage turkey had absolutely no flavor of game to convince me it was raised wild. I have prepared and roasted goose, duck, and wild turkey for over 20 years for my family, and this farm is not authentic. We use a local USDA butcher to process all of our meats, and he packages the giblets and neck from each turkey and then adds them back into the cavity. The package can be difficult to reach and you may have to try from both ends of the turkey. You will also need to wait until the turkey is completely thawed to reach the pack as it will be frozen and stuck inside. We have never encountered a situation where the neck and giblets are missing, but it is not impossible, as each turkey is handled by a person, not machines. I will start with the location, i'm from eastern Kentucky so going out in the country on a small narrow road is nothing for me. For some it might be like am I going into BFE? Don't be scared with the narrow road it's in excellent shape...just take your time. The location is beautiful. Once you pull up to the farm, you will see a sign that says pick to the right and you can park in the pasture right before you get to the blueberry bushes that are knitted off. There was four different types of blueberries when I visited. The girl was very nice showing me where to go to pick. I was looking for blueberries that would make a good jam and also ones that I could freeze for blueberry lemon scones. I did appreciate that they only sell so many tickets per day so you can really take your time and enjoy the blueberry picking. This is the first time that I have been blueberry picking, and it's definitely more delicate than a strawberry or blackberry. it was the perfect day to be one with nature, picking such a delicate, beautiful fruit. They do have buckets to pick blueberries if you don't have one of your own. After you pick your blueberries, you can drive down to the main house where they will weigh your berries you can pay with cash, Venmo, or Apple Pay. Blues End Farm also had different varieties of maple syrup and jelly that day. I'm so fortunate to have this gem close to home. You can go online and purchase your pick tickets. Did a 11am tour of the farm this morning. It was so beautiful! The tour starts at the stunning new…read morewelcome center where you watch two fantastic videos about the farms history. Then you set out on a shuttle to tour the farm grounds. The tour we did let us meet the mares and foals. I loved getting to pet the horses and their babies, they were adorable! Love that it was a hands on tour. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and kind. After the tour we did a little shopping at the gift shop which had a great selection. Then we took some family pictures by the statue of the one and only Malibu Moon. It was a great way to start the day.

I also sautéed onion, browned ground beef and added quinoa that I had cooked in my instant pot. This can be done with lots of different vegetables from Dove's Landing and meats of your choice.

I had a blast, took me back to when we would go on field trips.
