Resource is a phenomenal store ! It offers everything in terms of selection of clothing, shoes, purses, refrigerators, stoves, dryers, washing machines, sheets, bedspreads, furniture, rugs, framed pictures, dishes, glassware, and jewelry. Many items in my home are from Resource and they are of the highest quality. I am grateful both to REsource Store and the Vermonters who donate items to this thrift store. The quality ranges from always good to high-end . There is another thing that impressed me about this Resource Store. Their outreach program goes to building business skills and experience in people in need in our community. This organization takes donations of all kinds and it helps those who of our community live with dignity with those donations. It says a lot about Vermont . I have shopped at REsource for a number of years now, and l recommend it to everyone looking for a bargain and/ or some needed household item, as well as a great place to donate your things. In particular, l would like to acknowledge several employees whose character, intelligence and engaging personalities are exemplary: Ira, Will, and Jonathan. Moderately interesting to wander around in, but not a whole lot of interesting stuff here, unless you're a college student trying to outfit a house or apartment for cheap. Picked up some video game bits and tried to check out and OH MY GAWD it took forever. The weirdos behind the counter were the slowest people I've ever seen in any retail establishment ever. I get that they're probably volunteers but still, checkout was super annoying. read more

I've never sold anything to them so I have no idea how fair they are in that regard. Having said that, I do love wandering around the place and looking at everything. The stuff they do have is definitely used, some of it quite old. It has the feel of a big garage sale with some quite random & bizarre stuff. read more

Great stuff, friendly staff, prices cheap for quality stuff. Definitely the best deal in town. Recently relocated on Pine, main store now moved to Williston but the Pine St store has better prices. Delivery is reasonable, like $27 to North End Burlington. Just got a leather chair there, like new condition, $34.99. It's part of the recycled construction materials depot which is fun to explore too. read more

Not what it used to be before the reorganization a few years ago. Incredibly over priced. They were actually charging more for bricks than I found at the big box home centers. They don't negotiate anymore or bundle items. Staff has little to no knowledge of construction or the products they sell. If it wasn't for the millennials lack of knowledge about proper pricing, they would be out of business. read more

I volunteer at Recycle North and can honestly say it is one of the best places in Burlington. One never knows what they are going to find here. Some days, you may see nothing, but two hours later, you could find the best bedroom set ever! I have met people who visit every single day. People from all economic classes shop at this store regularly. A large part of my bedroom has items from Recycle North including my: t.v., night stand, chest, and many other items. I have also found a TI-83 graphing calculator valued at $100 for .50! I highly recommend this place for someone in college or just starting off (for couches and other furniture). However, I have also found great pieces for my parents including a brand new island for their kitchen and an antique bookcase. Bottom line is: you will find whatever it is you are looking for, just keep coming - it will show up! read more

I've always loved recycle north. Every time I moved while living in B-town, I'd bring a car load of stuff over. If you want an itemized tax deduction, they'll give you one. I usually just dropped and left. I also found some fun stuff there through the years. Their book section is fun, they have old tapes and records, funky dishes, and sometimes furniture that has potential for a little refurbishing. It can be pretty hit or miss, but that's half the fun. read more

On two occasions I have been treated poorly by staff. Today my partner and I were quoted a price for two banisters, which were them moved to the front for us to purchase. We paid for the banisters along with numerous other items. We went out to load our truck and the banisters were no longer out front. A different employee had moved them to the back employees only section. We were then informed we could not have them. We were refunded, however, this is an unacceptable business practice. Especially for a non-profit organization asking to keep its doors open based on donations. read more

Kind of a must-see in Burlington. Even if you don't really need anything, it's worth wandering around this little warehouse. You seriously never know what you might find. Old stuff, cool stuff, weird stuff and sometimes useful stuff. Last time I was there they had a baby grand for like 200 bucks. You can find absolutely anything here. Great for furniture if you're not terribly picky what it looks like. You can always paint it. Still cheaper than buying something new. read more

If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. I had really high hopes for this place and had never donated here before. I tried to donate a couple arm chairs to the drop off center. I'd already spoken to one of their representatives on the phone, and was told that it was fine for me to drop off my things today. When I arrived at the drop off center, I spoke to another volunteer, who said it was alright if I started unloading. As I was unloading some of the furniture, a woman came out and started yelling at me. She screamed that she could not take any of the furniture even though it was in good shape, and was incredibly unpleasant. I repacked what I had unloaded, and left very upset. I will not be coming back here again. It isn't worth the time or effort to bring anything to donate here. The staff at the store are very rude and unhelpful, and the entire store is an unorganized mess. As someone who has actually worked at a similar donation center in St. Louis, I was especially disappointed. I really hope they fix this problem in the future because the idea of the drop off for donations is a really good one. read more

this is such a great service and more people should be taking advantage of their pick up service when they need to re-home furniture or other items. I have used them many times when I had large furniture and other household items that I really just needed out of my home. It is always great to recycle and let your unwanted items go to someone who needs them. Their drivers are always very professional, prompt and good at their jobs. read more

I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. The customer service is terrible, just about everytime I go in there there is an older gentlemen who gives me the dirtiest look, almost as if I had stole something, I think his name may be Jeff. There prices are off, and frankly they're understaffed. If I would recommend restore to anyone as restore (habitat for humanity) there staff are all very helpful and friendly read more

I had a really terrible customer service experience at Recycle North (now ReStore). The cashiers basically ignored me until they'd finished a personal conversation, then acted like I should be _grateful_ to shop there. Hey, I'm poor, I can only afford used furniture at the moment, no need to treat me like a 2nd class citizen. The cashier barely grunted at me when I paid - no, "you're welcome" to my 'thank you'. No offer of help was made once I'd purchased my item to help me put it on the dolly or even open the door for me. I won't be shopping there ever again. read more

My girlfriend was moving recently, so we needed to downsize her belongings a bit. We packed up a nice wooden shelf with two removable levels inside, and headed to Resource to donate it. I might add that this shelf was purchased at this store in this past. The girl who greeted us seemed snippy right off the bat, for no discernible reason other than, perhaps, our presence, and curtly asked us to pull out the shelf unit so it could be inspected. The two shelves that rest on the inside of the pegs were removed for transportation, and despite it being obvious how it would look with the shelves in it, she insisted we put it together anyways, which we did. The two shelves each rested on 4 small, metal removable pegs, and while putting it together, we noticed one of them was missing. I told the girl about this, and said a simple screw could be used in it's place. With a rather annoyed tone, she said "We don't repair furniture..." Seriously? 30 seconds and a screw driver could have fixed this situation, but I guess that's too much work for these folks. While she was quibbling with my girlfriend, trying to convince her to drive home to look for the peg, I proposed that I would put a screw in to remedy the issue myself. She said, "Well, I guess we can just get rid of one of the shelves..." What?? For a store called "Resource" they don't seem particularly resourceful to me... Now, my patience running thin, I said that rather than see the shelving unit maimed and resold, I would rather put it on the side of the road with a "Free" sign on it. She then said, "Excuse me, sir, I am having a conversation here?" This is the point I realized she did not want to talk to me, as my girlfriend seemed apologetic enough to suggest we might return with the missing peg, should it be found... She then said: "Sir, I just said I would take it!", rolled her eyes, and carried the shelf off. If she thinks we are returning with the peg, she is mistaken. I would rather smash the shelf into 1000 pieces than give her the satisfaction. You would think that if you are donating a quality ware to a business that ostensibly prides itself on fixing such things up, they might treat you without contempt. Such expectations are misplaced here. Spend your dollars on your second-hand goods elsewhere - these folks don't deserve them. read more

I have always enjoyed browsing around Recycle North. Now it is Resources and the prices have increased greatly. My experience recently was not a good one. I purchased a table with claw feet or what they call Gargoyle feet. I could not fit in my car so used the service they provide to hold for pick up. It was picked up the next day but when I received it I was shocked as the feet were removed and only pegs remained. I went back and requested they look for the feet I had purchased. I was met with disrequard and a bad attitude.I had table checked by someone who said that it was no accident The feet were removed using a tool I knew they didnt fall off as I had moved it around trying to fit in my car., with help of several employees. All they gave me for a choice was to return table for refund. That ment paying to have it picked up and then paying to have it returned! Not worth my time and expense. My suggestion is if you buy from them do not trust their option to hold for pick up, There is obviously a thief among the building, and they choose to have a blind eye to changing that, or making my loss right.
