This way to the picnic area!

Bonus star for the excellent "picnic area" at this rest area. You won't notice it until you're leaving, which seems like an odd design. But just before the entrance ramp back onto the highway, there's a sign and this roadway loops out and back around the rest area. I found a great spot with some shade for a 20 minute snooze that was very helpful after four hours of high speed I-95 traffic. Other than that, it's a regular Florida highway rest area with picnic tables, vending machines, decently clean bathrooms and a pet walking area. But the picnic area? Awesome. Just south of St Augustine and a convenience stop between Daytona and Jacksonville, distressed area offers a welcome respite for road weary travelers. It has the usual snack machines and a good place to stretch your legs.

To whomever invented the speciality coffee vending machine--THANK YOU!! I cannot believe how hot, delicious and cheap this stuff is! I have started to take advantage of the rest areas. Usually when I travel I take an exit and use a Starbucks. Now, I will still continue to do this, however, it's very convenient to use a rest area because: 1. It's scenic. Love the feel of the park with picnic tables 2. It's always open 3. Nighttime security is available at many of the stops 4. It's right off interstate--do not have to drive a long way to find a decent stop 5. There are so many of them Now, this particular stop is very outdated. Looks as if it was built in the 70's, maybe even the 60's. I did not dare try the restroom, however the coffee is fantastic! I do not understand how a place that is so outdated can have soda vending machines that take credit and debit cards. . .such a paradox. At any rate, It's worth a stop to walk your dog or yourself. . . and if you have a yoga mat with you, take it out and do a vinyasa flow--you'll feel much better!

It's serves it's purpose. It's got bathrooms, vending machines, coffee machines, etc. It's also got picnic tables and places to walk around, plus a designated area to walk you fur babies if you are traveling with them. I do think that the bathrooms are in need of a makeover as they look like they came from at least a few decades ago or more. It sucks when you can only wash one hand at a time because you have to use the other hand to keep the water going...!

Always clean, in fact the last time I was there it was actively being cleaned by a man operating a large floor scrubber. I appreciate that.

The first thing you'll notice is the seemingly endless sea of gas pumps--fueling up is quick and easy, even when the place is busy. Once inside, it's much more than a gas station. It's a massive travel center packed with snacks, drinks, gifts, clothing, home décor, and just about anything else you could imagine needing (or not needing) on a road trip. The store is spotless, well-organized, and surprisingly easy to navigate despite its size. The real stars, though, are the food. The brisket sandwich is absolutely worth the hype--fresh, tender, smoky, and piled high. Don't leave without grabbing some of their fresh jerky, either. With so many flavors to choose from, it's easy to find a favorite. And then there are the bathrooms. I know it sounds strange to rave about a restroom, but Buc-ee's truly deserves the recognition. They are, without question, the cleanest public bathrooms I've ever used while traveling. That alone makes Buc-ee's a must-stop on any road trip. Even with the crowds, the employees are friendly, the checkout lines move incredibly fast, and the whole operation runs like a well-oiled machine. Whether you're stopping for gas, grabbing a meal, stocking up on snacks, or just stretching your legs, Buc-ee's has turned a routine pit stop into a destination. It's one of those places that actually lives up to the hype, and I'll happily stop every chance I get.

Their price point is reasonable and you can pick from Small, Medium, Large or XLarge (this last one is like 40 oz). It's great that you can do it self serve, so you can take your time choosing the right flavor for your specific daily craving. Nice cashier lady at this Wawa.

I have been stopping here on road trips for years. We were visiting St. Auguestine 3 times each…read moreyear and would usually stop here on our way back home. We stopped here way more before the Wawa locations started popping up in South Florida. When we stopped, I would go in and get some sammies, snacks, and soda while hubs filled up the car with gas and took our dog for a walk. This Wawa location is usually busy but not in the obnoxious way. Oddly enough, there is another location really close by lol. We always stopped at this one because it is closest to 95. There is usually plenty of parking outside and you will rarely wait to pump gas. The store and restrooms are usually clean and tidy. The staff are usually pleasant as well. From all the food I purchased here, there was never an issue from what I can remember. I have both ordered food from kiosk and picked up hot items at the register, the refrigerators, and also have bought coffee almost every time visiting here.
