Being VERY skeptical as this isn't the turnpike I still came here because well, we had to go. This rest stop is off of I95. However it is very clean. There wasn't a foul odor and the stalls were stocked properly with toilet paper. It's now also automated, setup with touch less flush and sink features .

Florida has been upping the rest area game. This is fabulous. Lots of space, lots of shade, lots of opportunity to get out of the car and get a break. In addition to the usual parking areas for cars and a separate one for trucks, there's a loop that goes around back for a "picnic area" and you can get pretty far away from the traffic. Restrooms were clean and there are vending machines with snacks. [Review 18943 overall - 1561 in Florida - 2467 of 2022.]

This rest stop is a relic stopped in time! The dated architecture (70s?) was immediately pleasing to my eye. Seeing the intensely mosaiced bathrooms and curves of the cement buildings brought back memories of childhood road trips. The bathroom was very clean. And huge. Designed for hoards of road goers, this place was far from busy on a rainy afternoon. I passed a large snack machine area which held, amongst other types, a coffee machine and an ice cream machine. The rest area behind the buildings seemed vast and epic. An overgrown field steeped in rainwater yielded tiny tree frogs jumping from blades of grass. My children and I trudged through and hung out in one of the many pavilions more than socially distanced apart from one another, each with two cement picnic benches and tables inside. This was a great spot for my kids to climb and run around in, plus the wonder of catching tiny frogs. A winning stop all around.

I don't want to write hasty things about this rest area, but I do want to write hastings about this rest area. I had a nice nap here, and it's a perfectly good, if very busy, rest area heading south on 95. They're new and enjoyable, and better than expected. Definitely a good rest area, and one I'll look to use in future when I come through these parts.

This is a very average rest area. It will be in need of updating soon, but for now I guess it will do. Early evening during the week, it was messy and in need of garbage corralling and litter picking. A good wipe down in the bathrooms would be nice as well. It just felt a lot grungier than it looked.

Located just south of St Augustine. This is an old rest stop with some grassy areas and vending machines. Nothing special. Rest rooms were dated but clean.

Late night stop at this rather busy rest area for 11:00 PM it was packed but the place was well lit and clean. Plenty of parking and lots of vending machines. If you put large bills in you get your change in dollar coins so all you collectors out there bookmark this place. :-)

Buc-ee’s - The giant gas station!

Buc-ee’s

If you've never stopped at Buc-ee's, you're missing out on one of the ultimate road trip…read moreexperiences. The first thing you'll notice is the seemingly endless sea of gas pumps--fueling up is quick and easy, even when the place is busy. Once inside, it's much more than a gas station. It's a massive travel center packed with snacks, drinks, gifts, clothing, home décor, and just about anything else you could imagine needing (or not needing) on a road trip. The store is spotless, well-organized, and surprisingly easy to navigate despite its size. The real stars, though, are the food. The brisket sandwich is absolutely worth the hype--fresh, tender, smoky, and piled high. Don't leave without grabbing some of their fresh jerky, either. With so many flavors to choose from, it's easy to find a favorite. And then there are the bathrooms. I know it sounds strange to rave about a restroom, but Buc-ee's truly deserves the recognition. They are, without question, the cleanest public bathrooms I've ever used while traveling. That alone makes Buc-ee's a must-stop on any road trip. Even with the crowds, the employees are friendly, the checkout lines move incredibly fast, and the whole operation runs like a well-oiled machine. Whether you're stopping for gas, grabbing a meal, stocking up on snacks, or just stretching your legs, Buc-ee's has turned a routine pit stop into a destination. It's one of those places that actually lives up to the hype, and I'll happily stop every chance I get.

All was great except for the so-called Crispy Chicken Bacon Avocado Wrap. Not ONE Sliver of BACON…read moreand NO AVOCADO. Just full of a few dried up pieces of chicken, shredded cabbage and lots of rice. It was a very DRY bunch of goop!! When you call (979)-238-6390 you are told to go to www.bucees.com. You go to that website to complain, enter your info but there is no place to submit your entry. You cannot complain but have to drive 50+ miles back to the store to show them their product. So you are stuck with a $9.49 piece of dried up crap!

The best way I can describe Buc-ee's is that it's a gas station on steroids--or maybe the Costco, Sam's Club, or BJ's Wholesale Club of gas stations. It has just about everything, including some amazing-looking BBQ that everyone raves about. It definitely exceeded our expectations! We didn't try the food this time because, honestly, we just weren't hungry. I'm almost ashamed to admit I forgot to take photos. I was so overwhelmed trying to take everything in that I completely forgot. There was just so much to see! We did fill up with gas and went through the car wash, though. I have to say, it was one of the best car washes I've ever been through. We'll definitely be stopping at Buc-ee's again on our next road trip--and next time, I'm trying the BBQ!
