Powerwashing. Deck Care." OMG, he is so good! I've always done my own painting, and I am a perfectionist. I gave in and hired a painter with a certain amount of trepidation (you know - night sweats, palpitations, fear of the unknown!). First of all, he surprised me by always being on time, working the whole time he was here, with a brief lunch break, and working until it was time to go - how often does that happen! He was very careful to ask me exactly the extent of prep work I wanted done. Like, he would discuss with me: Do you want every single crack and hole fixed, or just the worst ones? Turned out that a lot more repair work needed to be done than either of us had expected,which, of course, meant more hours and more expense, but he was willing and able to do the level of repair that I wanted. I wanted everything as perfect as possible, and he exceeded my expectations. The repair work he did was meticulous - well worth the additional unexpected expense. Don't let anybody kid you - a paint job is only as good as the prep work that precedes it! I also didn't take into account that the color red I chose took 4 (!) coats to cover properly, and the closet and other doors took 3 coats, adding to the time needed to complete the job satisfactorily. So be aware that there are factors that affect the final price that only come up as you actually get into the job. Are you a female who sometimes has trouble with male workers being condescending, chauvinistic, patronizing, or just plain rude? Well, Zoltan is an exception to that rule. He was extremely pleasant to have in my home working for five days - so I saw a lot of him! Very polite, very amenable to suggestion. He cleaned up thoroughly after himself; he brought his own dropcloths and covered everything; and he moved furniture and put it back. You may have to wait a while to schedule a job since his services are in demand, but he is well worth the wait.

There are few things that are more soothing than waking up to a black cup of well-made coffee. I have a thing for pour over--gesha and rare single-origins. They're not always easy to find at a coffee shop. Passenger has some of the best beans and that's what used here. The staff made me a perfect gesha and a beautiful cappuccino. I'm unsure where the pastries are from, but they all looked delicious & I loved the oatmeal cream pie. The cafe has multiple areas of seating for you to yearn, write, read, study, yap in. I'll be back to park myself in that cozy enclave and enjoy 3-4 cuppas.

We ordered 2 cappuccinos with oat milk and a pourover, and everything was ... perfect. The cappuccinos were just the right temperature, the milk was foamed perfectly, and you could actually taste the unique flavor of the coffee beans. The pourover was amazing, and you could tell they took care to brew it properly. We also ordered an earl grey scone and cheddar bread with PB, honey, and banana, and both were delicious. As a bonus, the space is beautiful with plenty of seating, and a parrot that fascinated my toddler. We live about 90 minutes away, but as soon as we left, we started thinking of reasons to go back.
