    Ardmor Windows & Doors

I recently hired Ardmore Windows and Doors to replace 18 windows in my home, and while the sales…read moreprocess started off strong, the rest of the experience was incredibly disappointing. To begin with, the sales representative was punctual, knowledgeable, and thorough. He clearly explained all the window options and helped us choose the style we wanted. Unfortunately, that is where the professionalism ended. One of the most alarming issues occurred during installation: a window was either dropped or thrown from the second floor onto my front lawn, where it shattered. The crew made no attempt to clean it up. I only discovered the shards the next day while outside barefoot with my toddler. I spent hours picking up tiny pieces of glass myself. When I raised this with the project manager, he didn't apologize or show any concern--he simply offered $100 off for my "time." Beyond that, the overall project management and execution were riddled with issues. I had to review the order sheet at least ten times because the company repeatedly made mistakes--wrong quantities, wrong styles, wrong hardware. Even after all of that, the final order was still incorrect. I requested that the new windows match the existing styles (e.g., 6 over 1, 8 over 1), yet this was ignored, and we only realized the error during installation when it was too late to correct. They also installed two top sashes in one window and acted as if this was normal. Their explanation was that "owners ask for ridiculous things sometimes," so they didn't question it. This was the only window of the 18 installed incorrectly, yet I was the one who had to push to have it acknowledged. The hardware situation was equally unprofessional. They installed mismatched pieces--gold locks with nickel lifts--because the hardware we selected was "out of stock," but they never told us. When we asked for replacements, they simply handed me a catalog and told me to choose new ones, offering no guidance, even though only one alternative actually worked with the holes they had already drilled. Another major issue involved the window screens. I requested screens for all windows in the original estimate, and this was clearly documented. Despite that, no screens were installed. Their excuse was that "homeowners don't often want to open their windows." After the mistake was pointed out, they installed makeshift screens that don't fit properly and are extremely difficult to remove and replace--clearly not the correct screens for the windows we purchased. The job, which was supposed to take a few days, dragged on for weeks due to unfinished work, installation errors, and repeated reorders caused by their own mistakes. Some of the work is still unfinished. I would not recommend Ardmore Windows and Doors to anyone. Unless you want to act as your own project manager, clean up after the crew, and still end up with results that don't match what you paid tens of thousands of dollars for, look elsewhere.

Our house looks beautiful. The siding is modern and sleek. The installers were always considerate treating our home like their own. Fred and his office staff were always very professional in addressing our questions. We loved this company so much that we just had them come out to replace our roof. If you want a quality job for a fair market price look no further than Hunterdon Siding, you will not be disappointed.

Their sales guy Rob missed my first appointment due to "car issues" the first time. No problem. We rescheduled to the next day. Rob did not spend more than 2 minutes in my home with the typical window guy "sales pitch" before abruptly and unprofessional walking out. You might ask why did Rob walk out? He did not like that I was educated on window replacement costs (from having family/friends do replacement windows already). When he asked what I think a fair price should be per replacement windows I answered him ($1000 -$1200 per window depending on options) and instead of disagree with based on real evidence/facts he walked out my front door without saying one word to me (and can be visibly seen from my ring camera shaking his head at me like I'm some kind of idiot). I can only assume this business is making a huge mark up also on the products they sell if their salesperson who I met for the first time didn't even take the time to get to know me before treating me like a pile of trash. I am surprised this business has as many positive reviews as they do treating customers not only unethically but disrespectfully.

Do not hesitate to hire Gerald/Vintage Home Renovations. I been hiring Gerald for projects small…read moreand large for almost twenty years. He remodeled my kitchen, built a deck, replaced ancient pipes, to name just three of the dozen or so projects I have hired him for. He is the best. Let me give some details: * He knows and understands old houses. If you your home is "vintage", you know that along with charm comes all sorts of problems with old or outdated (or sometimes just plain weird) plumbing, electric, etc. Gerald knows how to work with or adapt these older items. * He is a one-stop shop. He does plumbing, electric, carpentry, masonry and so on. * He is a problem solver. On more than one occasion, I have hired a different contractor for a job, only to discover that they either refused the job, or failed to complete it once problems arose (which happens when you start poking at old house). In ever case, Gerald came to the rescue. * He's trustworthy. This past summer I gave Gerald the keys to my house and left for three weeks vacation. He completed all of the work while I was away. * His prices are beyond reasonable. * He stands by his work...and is always willing to make things right. So...don't hesitate...Gerald is your guy! He has worked on my farm for decades and fixes every problem we have encountered with our historic home and old farm buildings. He recently put in a fabulous new kitchen and bathroom in my home at a very reasonable price. He's a joy to be around and very ethical and honest. Gerald understands what you want and delivers a perfect outcome. I can't recommend him enough. Dr. Stephanie Jones
