First time here, the soup was great, but the main dish was too salty. I ordered with my friends rice with tomato sauce, but we got dumplings instead of rice. The other friends had great fried fish. read more

Traditional Czech food that was half price of the restaurants in old town. I'd say they had the best goulash soup that we have eaten, which was a huge portion. The broth was very thick and filled with meat, not just broth, with big chunks of potatoes and carrots. The pork knuckle could be on or off the bone, it was like 2 servings. It came with white and purple sauerkraut and chives dumplings. I had the goulash, which was a hint of spicy with the paprika and onions. The dumplings (4) sopped up the rest of the gravy. Beers were also cheaper. Give it a go!

We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

The presentation was very nice, the sauce beautifully creamy and slightly sweet, perfect for soaking up with the bread dumplings. The meat was extremely tender, and the finely cut vegetables along with the cranberries provided a pleasant contrast. To finish, we shared a věneček. It's not quite my preferred type of dessert, but as far as I can judge, it was also very tasty and well executed. In short: our best restaurant experience in all of Prague. Food and drinks were outstanding. The three of us spent around €100 together, which was more than reasonable for this quality. We recommend the place without reservation and are already very much looking forward to another visit. Thank you for the wonderful meal in Prague!

I read a little about it online and some people said ordering can be intense and stressful, so I did my homework, kitted up, and got ready to go to war. There's a menu with the most popular dishes outside so to limit the decision fatigue, I knew I was gonna order a #1. I entered the restaurant where the staff handed me a slip of paper and sent me through the gates. You walk to the serving line, hand the staff your paper and tell them what you want, then take your plate and paper somewhere to sit down and eat. Way easier than what online experiences said to expect. There's a seating area which resembles an atrium so I knew I had to sit there. Their most popular dish, a Sirloin in Cream Sauce isn't much of one for looks. What the dish lacks in looks, is made up for in quality and taste. The bread tasted so good with the sauce, I couldn't help but saturate each slice. The beef was soft and was disguised under the sauce as a surprisingly hefty portion. A solid, well balanced dish. All in all, this restaurant is easily the best bang-for-your-buck to try out some authentic Czech food while not breaking the bank at all. I had a wonderful experience where I was able to sit down, relax and feel a bit more immersed in the culture. You won't have any issues with trying out this place and if you do, at least it's inexpensive.
