Looking for a nice and clean restaurant in the Znojmo downtown, with the touch of local wine? Go to…read morethe Restaurant Vesela 13 in the Hotel Lahofer. You will find a nice menu with the wine recommendations in the recently renovated old house. The local Wine List is pretty impressive, with + 100 different wines from Lahofer a.s., Hort s.r.o., Znovin Znojmo a.s., Vinarstvi Korinek, Vinarstvi Spalek, Vinarstvi Waldberg Vrbovec s.r.o., and with a nice guide of all wine varieties served. Our waitress was also very kind and easy-going, and when we were asking, she was telling us local stories, which was good. Her recommendation was Svatovavrinecke Rose 2011, a semi-sweet wine from Vinarstvi Lahofer at 199 Czech crowns per bottle. It was delicious. The Lahofer Grenache 2010 from French grapes was OK, but better to accompany it with some meat, otherwise it is coming across as a bit rough. Overall, our experience from Vesela 13 was a great one, and we will be definitely coming back. We arrived in Znojmo on the last FlixBus, and at that point - around 9pm - there was nothing left open. Being a 3+ hour bus ride from Prague, we were a bit hungry, and this restaurant was a welcome addition to our Znojmo experience. We were also able to catch the Futbol game on the televisions throughout the dining area. We will always return when in Znojmo!

I had a chicken with lavender and it was delicious, the taste of lavender was melted perfectly with cinnamon and other spices. The club sandwich was great, lighter than usual and with many fresh veggies. The onion soup was a little different from the typical one .... I love it! The owner is very welcoming and has set up her small business in a place full of grace!
