This place is rather hidden and usually people from the neighborhood come here. I have come here a couple of times, however, I have never been really satisfied. I still do not know what to think of the place. The staff is not very attentive, rather slow and the food is really poor. The ambiance is not bad but also not that awesome. I would say that the biggest issue of this place is the unfriendly, bored staff that spoils the atmosphere. When you combine this with the not so good food, the beautiful romantic setting by the river and quite nice interior make it 3-star even though the potential of this place is much bigger. As to the question whether to visit or not - if its close from you, give it a try. Should you be coming here from further away, maybe better give it a pass....

The moment you step inside, you are hit with the smell of hops and the striking visual of an all-wood interior, high ceilings, and some tiered seating options. Despite its grandeur, it's rather casual, at least in the brewery (pivovar) half at the front of the house. A peek into the back half, presumably the "restaurant" half, seemed like a lovely banquet-esque affair. We stuck with the pivovar and, casual label be damned, it was still a rather impressive ordeal. I ordered the 1/2 Roast Duck, served with dumplings and braised red cabbage, which (following a theme here) was huge. More importantly, it was excellent, really tender and juicy, and just a touch on the salty side. But hey, I like salty, and I love duck, so I'm calling it - one of the best meals I had in Prague. Their home-brewed beer Přístavní výčepní 10% was also delicious, a traditional Czech pilsner category-wise, but also a nice break from the Urquells and Gambrinuses that run the rest of the town. I'm no beer connoisseur, but it's light, golden, grassy composition was perfectly balanced against my heavy duck entree. Add to that the friendliest service this American received during his entire stay in Prague, and this nautical brewhouse is a must for any fan of gastropubs, great local beer, and/or manly eats in general. That is where back in the day circa 1988-1990 accompanied By Oakland A's famous Battery of Dave Stewart and Ron Hassey, I tasted my first Pilsner Urquell. Been a fan ever since. And Yes, of the A's as well! This looked like a place to get a fresh brewed version of the Pilsner as ubiquitous as Budweiser is in US. But man the smells from the kitchen had me perusing the ample menu. I settled on the least authentic Czech item on the menu. However I wanted to drink my carbs so chicken kebab with roasted veggies it was. This beer is way to tasty and smooth, wound up drinking two before my kebab showed up. BTW- solid WiFi in this place. I was texting #1 who was across town drinking and eating too! Had to have a 3rd Urquell to help wash down that 24" tall skewer! Besides, chicken wings are not a thing in Louisiana. .. so say no to the louisiana chicken wings. Other than that, the beer is fresh and great and the food is amazing and cheap. Service is a bit slow but on vacation is acceptable. Metered beer at the table, in the smoking section only, is a nice touch. Food not to miss: cracklins and the skewers.

This caters to the meat lover, fish lover, vegetarian, big appetite, small appetite, or even if you just want drinks and an appetizer. In 2012 I took my husband here (far too early in the day) on our honeymoon. The place was mostly deserted, but he loved his mojito, I enjoyed my glass of red wine, and all the food we had was on point. (I believe back then it was a cheese plate, as well as grilled steak, and grilled goat cheese over salad.) -- He loved the food and vibe so much he said we had to go back on our next trip. The two (+) times we've been back, we've been even more delighted with the food, and as we went later in the day, also in the vibrant atmosphere. I love their takes on Tex-Mex style food such as burritos, chili con carne, sides with dipping sauces and hot peppers, etc. We've ordered plenty of stuff on our trips here and have quite honestly never been disappointed. Unfortunately, it is not spacious and not appropriate for their living style. I absolutely hate that people are allowed to smoke here because they inhale all of that smoke. It's worse enough that we are drinking and extremely loud at obnoxious hours. As for the pub itself, customer service is efficient and friendly. The outdoor seating closes earlier than indoor, which makes sense for noise population, and I appreciated that they weren't rude about it. There's also sporty entertainment indoors which is always grand.

Then comes back a few minutes later and says "faster" as we order. I order cider and point to the one I want on the menu and he says "I know what a cider is." Then he proceeds to get our entire order wrong. We try to tell a different waiter that our order is wrong but no one ever comes back to fix it so we just drink the drinks we had. Then when it came time to pay, we let them know the whole order was incorrect and that we shouldn't have to pay for what we didn't order, but he got super upset and made us pay anyway. I work in the service industry and understand having bad days, but this was just next level. The beer and wine was gross anyway and the vibe in there was not good. 0/10 do not recommend.
