This is such a unique and fun place! If this doesn't awaken your inner child then you must have killed it in its sleep! There are model trains ALL OVER this place. Its a large restaurant with tons of tracks meandering about. The best part? The trains deliver your drinks! When I was a kid in Chicago there was this small diner that delivered its hot dogs on a train...its nostalgia on steroids. Drink orders came pretty quick too. Food came out in decent time but it wasn't blazing fast. Like most European restaurants the service takes a hands off approach. They really don't bother you unless you wave them down. I personally enjoy this but many Americans think the service might be bad or rude. Just wave them down and they are there and will get what you want ASAP. I ordered pretty simple food but I really enjoyed it. Meat and potatoes, and potato soup. The soup was awesome! Protip - make a reservation. I have been told the wait can be very long.

Kids it's time you learned that Thomas the Tank Engine is a drunk.

The food is okay, I had traditional pork shoulder, dumplings and sauerkraut. The thing you go here for is that a TRAIN DELIVERS YOUR BEER. How can you not be excited by the juxtaposition of Thomas the Tank Engine delivering your beer. Disclaimer, only some of the tables have beer delivery service, mostly ones for groups so you'll have to find a friend to enjoy this with. You'll also need a reservation, regardless if it is crowded or not. This is apparently very common in the Czech Republic but not if you're an American. It is located on near the top half of Wenceslas Square, which also means there are also many street hookers and pimps through out the day. To get here take Mustek A or Muzeum but be careful because both are touristy and attract the attention of the metro police who have a reputation of fining tourists for being tourists. Be polite, don't pay, show but do not handover your passport, and ask repeatedly to talk to the US Embassy.

This restaurant is all about the show. It's entertaining to have your drinks arrive on the little trains, this is true. I had much better and more reasonably priced food at pubs than I had here. The potatoes were very bland, and the chicken was oily. My daughter did quite enjoy the show and her ice cream. The beer was cold and delicious!

Very simple food and absolutely not why you should go here - go here because of experiencing getting drinks serves on a train to your table. Kids loved it.

My husband said "you don't suppose it's a restaurant?" and I looked up and it had a restaurant name and said served by model trains.

We are early diners and the only couple near us were also Americans on holiday. Our server spoke excellent English and guided us through the menu choices. After an appetizer of tomatoes and cucumbers in a light dressing, I ordered the sirloin in cream and my wife the trout filet. The food, like the service, was superb. Our server surprised us with a complimentary "shot" of a very strong Czeck liqueur at the end of the meal. we had a grand time and hope you will too!!

Nonetheless, I entered and hope for an escape from the unforgiving sun on that day. The staff seated me at one of the booths and after I requested some information explaining the menu and what's popular, they were more than happy to assist. They even explained some local etiquette and so on which was perfect for a visitor like myself. I decided to try out their Pickled Cheese as an appetizer. The cheese, paired with the onion salad and bagel was great. I really didn't know if I was eating it correctly but still delicious. For the main course, my waiter recommended a Schnitzel with potato salad. Just to get it out of the way, but the potato salad was almost better than anything I've had in the United States. I thought we were doing it right until I spent one day in Prague. The Schnitzel was also delicious. Perfect with the salad, the provided a blend of flavor and substance I desperately needed. All in all, this place was a great experience in Prague. The staff could not have been anymore nicer as I left with an itinerary on what to do during my time in Prague. The food and service were great. Don't be fooled by the location and stop by if you're in Old Square.

I was about to order a glass of wine when I saw the Pilsner Urquell in the three styles. Although the menu did not have the official name, I opted for The Cut (aka Šnyt), which is more foam than beer. For dinner, I went with the Veal & Cheese Rissole. The breading provided plenty of flavor to the veal & pork combo. The mashed potato had a very creamy texture. Unfortunately, the cucumber salad was the least favorite of the three. The shredded cucumber was akin to sauerkraut being drowned in water. I regretfully passed on the dessert. From my vantage point, I could not see anyone ordering dessert. Even more regrettable, before I left, I discovered the restroom was not well cleaned.

Having had just arrived in Prague earlier that day and having cycled 100+ kilometers, I was quite famished when I arrived. I hadn't made a reservation but being a singleton at an early evening hour, the staff found me a table quickly. I started by ordering an alcohol-free beer and then I perused the menu. Marek, the waiter, soon came to my aide and helped me pick out a hearty portion: dumplings, of course! For dessert, I also had another set of dumplings and I loved both dishes.
